Nicoella Event Design & DJing

I cannot say enough good things about hiring Nick to DJ our October wedding. We knew from the beginning that we needed help with music, as creating our own playlist and having a friend DJ from an iPhone sounded mega stressful. Nick was recommended by a friend, and from the beginning he was a joy to work with. He was easygoing, positive, very professional and responsive in all of our interactions. What I loved the most was that he was able to get a really good sense of our musical tastes from mostly email communication and a quick in-​person meeting, and from this he created two different and amazing playlists for dinner and the dance party after. I will never forget that his selections had all of our guests (including the parents!) dancing most of the night to 90’s hip hop/r&b. I also had the hardest time figuring out music to walk down the aisle to and for our first dance, and Nick went above and beyond in sending suggestions, as well as hunting down obscure covers for during dinner after I mentioned that it might be cool to have Beatles music in Spanish. Nick and his music were a key part of what made our wedding so fun and special, and we highly recommend Nick to anyone.

We originally hired Nick to be our DJ. After our initial conversation with him, we could sense that he was easy going and he would there to help us host the best dance party for our guests we could imagine! Our wedding reception was on a boat and Nick worked his hand at all the wiring and cables so that the music could be heard throughout the ship. He began the night with an awesome 40s mix (the boat used to be owned by FDR) and then the dance party began. He stuck to all our personal requests and threw in a few other fun songs. The crowd had a blast! So much fun…
Along the way, Nick mentioned his wife Lauren did wedding design. We were looking for some help with day of coordinating and floral design and when we reached out to Lauren, she also seemed like the perfect fit for our needs. She has wonderful taste and the floral arrangements she made for myself and the bridesmaids, as well as the arrangements that were on the boat came out absolutely beautiful! Her help with day of coordinating was also just what we needed. She was my «go to» throughout the day and she kept me informed of the important things, while helping guests with other details I didn’t need to know about. She also helped us plan a wonderful day before rehearsal dinner. She was very organized throughout the process and made us feel at ease.

Nick DJ’d our wedding this past August, and I couldn’t recommend him more highly. Not only are his jams dope, but he made everything look so seamless and effortless (and I know a lot of work went on BTS to make it seem as such). We had an outdoor wedding with a lot of moving parts and Nick took all the extra time to make sure it flowed perfectly the day of. I felt like we were in such good hands. As for the music, he had our must-​play songs and took it to another level. Before the wedding Nick really made an effort to know the kind of music we wanted to hear, did his musical magic and popped out an awesome and better-​than-​I-​ever-​could-​have-​imagined set. We feel so thankful to have had Nick there with us on our wedding day.

Hiring Lauren was absolutely the best money we spent on the wedding. She helped us design a really beautiful ceremony and reception and flawlessly coordinated day of. I highly highly highly recommend her!
We have zero skills in the design area and didn’t really have a grand vision for what we wanted the wedding to look like, so Lauren really guided us through the process to arrive at something we loved. She helped us blend our Jewish and Chinese backgrounds and designed something that was so elegant yet simple which is exactly what we wanted. I don’t think this ever happens but 1. the wedding went absolutely perfectly, I don’t know of a single thing that went wrong and 2. I had absolutely nothing to do for two entire weeks before the wedding due to Lauren being so on top of things. It was a very odd feeling but it meant that I was able to spend time with family the week beforehand and not worry about a single detail.
Working with Lauren is incredibly easy, she was happy to flex to our preferences (using Google docs, etc) was really prompt, very organized and just adds calm to the experience wherever she can. The entire process of working with Lauren was just so enjoyable and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

The Nicoella team helped us create the most outstanding wedding ceremony and reception ever. While my wife and I were arguing over seating arrangements and first dance choices over 2 months, Lauren was the focused hard working yet patient designer we needed to get the 1,000+ other things done. I had no idea how many details were involved in wedding design and execution until this last summer. Nick was also extremely important in all of this. He used his wedding experience to help us create the perfect timeline, put together a self-​powered mic/​sound system for our outdoor ceremony, and helped get our family and friends nice and loose at the reception by playing all the right jams.
I’m really glad we didn’t try to do this on our own like I wanted to. We would have been in way over our heads. Instead, Nick, Lauren and their assistants did most of everything and we got to enjoy a stress free wedding. I’ll never get sick of hearing from our guests how amazing our wedding was. The best part is, my wife and I get the credit!

We hired Nick to DJ our wedding at the recommendation of our wedding planner. He was awesome! From the get go he was very clear how flexible and easy to communicate with he was. He is so different than your typical event DJ and understands what the day is all about. He urged us to send as many or as little songs/​guidance as we needed and guided us with his experience with other weddings. The day of went off without a hitch and I didn’t even know he was there, which is the best compliment if you’ve ever planned a wedding. He was set up and ready before I even thought about it. The playlist was a huge HIT with our guests. The dance floor was PACKED and he accommodated some of our less-​than-​ordinary requests. Would recommend him again and again.

Nick played at our wedding and absolutely killed it. Music and dancing has always been a very important part of our relationship so getting this right was important to me. So glad we went with Nick!
Repeatedly throughout the night people asked me who this DJ was and commented on how much fun they were having dancing. The dance floor was packed the whole time.

My husband and I hired Lauren and Nick for our wedding and so happy we did — several times during planning we’d look at each other and say «Thank goodness we decided to do this!»
Both Lauren and Nick take a great deal of care with what they do and we can’t imagine our day turning out any more special. It really did surpass any expectations we had, and with Lauren and Nick’s help we were able to create an event that was very much ours. Highly, highly recommend Nicoella!

We hired Nick of Nicoella to DJ our wedding. My husband is a musician himself and very detail-​oriented when it came to a music playlist. Nick was wonderful to work with in the months leading up to the wedding in being totally flexible and willing to work with my husband’s requests until we were satisfied. He had a sense of our musical tastes and could expound upon our requests.
On the wedding day Nick was prompt, helpful, and orchestrated the ceremony music cues perfectly. At the reception Nick laid it down! He created the dance party we had dreamed of. he had all of our friends and even our parents on the dance floor for most of the night, and one song after the next did not disappoint! He kept the energy high and positive. Would highly recommend Nicoella to any interested parties.

Lauren was a lifesaver helping me with a holiday party at the Verdi Club. I’d foolishly thought that I could throw the party without using a decorator and, boy, was I wrong, especially after seeing the somewhat challenging interior of the club. Lauren is a great communicator and was able to work with my limited budget. The dining tables looked fantastic and I ended up getting many compliments on how awesome everything looked… I will certainly use Nicoella again should the need arise.

DJ Nico provided DJ services for my wedding ceremony and reception last year. Originally my husband and I were going to try to wing it, but we were both so incredibly glad that we made the decision to invest in having Nick’s expertise and great ear to help make our day perfect.
Nick’s professionalism and personal care in making sure everything was as we had dreamed it would be made the process smooth and stress free. Nick took our song must-​haves and intermingled great music to fill in the gaps and keep the energy going. I barely left the dance floor during my entire wedding reception!

Nick and Lauren helped make our wedding an even more magical occasion. We of course expected attention to detail, but they took it to the next level by providing an experience that perfectly complimented our tastes and occasion.
Nick played an amazing set, deftly mixing classic crowd pleasers as well as the more eclectic choices, without ever resorting to the more cheesy or cliché wedding hits. We didn’t even have to do much work specifying what we wanted since a lot of his personal tastes matched up with ours! Out of all our priorities for the weekend, the success of the dance party was high on our list, and Nick delivered with flying colors.

Nick DJed our wedding last year, and he was amazing! From planning to party to pack-​out, he was very professional and fun to work with.
Most importantly, he brought an awesome, diverse playlist and kept us all (even a few ‘dance-​shy’ guests) partying into the night. LOVE Nicoella! What an amazing husband and wife team! We have had the pleasure of working with them for two events. Nick was the DJ for my parents’ 25^th anniversary party and he rocked the house. It was a weird setup and Nick never skipped a beat (pun intended :), he dealt with all technical issues with ease. He played great music and everyone had a blast.
Lauren also styled my baby shower and it was the cutest! She has such an eye for design and I absolutely love her aesthetics. Lauren is also extremely organized and efficient, so you can count on her to take care of every detail.
You really can’t go wrong booking these two for any event!
