Panorama Framing is a custom picture framing shop and art gallery in Oakland, California. We’re here for all your custom picture framing needs: memorabilia, collectible items, photos, love letters and more!

We provide museum quality custom framing, shadowboxes, matting & mounting — for your personal treasures, whether they’re family photos or fine art, posters or postcards, Instagram or Hipstamatic, Oils or Oreos, buttons or watches, golf tees or giraffes (stuffed, of course). Stop in to see how we can help you display your life!

Panorama also has 60+ feet of gallery wall space, devoted to rotating shows of local artists. Each month on the First Thursday, Panorama hosts an artist’s reception and welcomes the public in. Also showcased are artisanal wares by local folks, including ceramics, letterpress and other prints,

Reclaimed wood? You bet! We source antique redwood, fir, cedar and other fine woods leftover from remodeling projects — and (re-)use them for your framing projects!

History

Established in 2013.

Working through college, I spent about 12 years working for local (in Virginia) picture frame shops. Yes, college took a while ;-)

I learned the ins and outs of both the hard work of custom picture framing and designing custom framing; Roughly 10 of those years I spent as lead designer for a picture frame shop in NoVa — I had the opportunity to work with clients from every walk of life, whether they were local folks needing to frame their birth announcement or ketubah; a corporate person framing an atta-​boy; or a museum needing to preserve an object worth a gazillion dollars. It was a load of fun, and I learned a lot.

Now, after 10 years creating 360° imagery for corporate clients, I’m ready to get my hands back into tangible things, and into helping clients at the counter, designing their next heirloom, gift, keepsake or memory — because, more than monetary value, it’s the personal worth placed on an item that makes it important, interesting and fun to frame — and I can’t wait!
