Parent Voices

Parent Voices is an awesome group for Advocating for parents needs and wants. Many Child Care Resource and Referral agencies throughout California have a Parent Voices Chapter.
Main events:
Knowledge is Power– KIP is a workshop that illustrates the budget process and outlines the best way to make an impact and offers parents a chance to take on a leadership role.
Stand for Children– SFC is a MUST ATTEND event normally held on the 1^st Wednesday of May that allows parents to talk to their legislators to tell them why they need child care. This event puts a face to bills and acts that the Gov’t is working on and is very beneficial to both parents and elected officials.
**At this time Santa Clara County does not have an active PV Chapter.

I recently became informed about this pro-​parent, pro-​family and pro-​child organization. I thought it would be worth writing a review on Unilocal for parents.
I will quote the informational pamplet. «Parent Voices is a grassroots organization. As a grassroots organization, we work to make quality child care available and affordable to all families that need it.»
«Since 1996, Parent Voices has successfully engaged thousands of parents to advocate for quality child care at the local, state and federal levels.»
For example, «In 2002, Parent Voices saved $ 100 million in child care funding that would have impacted 59,000 children.»
«In 2006, Parent Voices launched a pro-​active campaign to update income eligibility criteria for subsidized child care. By successfully convincing legislators to update the eligibility criteria, Parent Voices was able to preserve the ability of thousands of working families to maintain their economic security through work and child care subsidies.»
«Parent leaders organize the annual Stand for Children Day which brings 500 parents, children, and child care supporters together for a rally and legislative visits in the State Capitol.»
Parent Voices is an organization that helps to advocate for working parents to maintain child care.
