Once upon a time, a bunch of trust fund kids thought it would be über cool to open up a pizza joint in Oakland names Pizzeria SFO. If you are this hungry that you would resort to going here, call me; I will cook for you. These aforementioned ass clowns must have consumed a lot of paint of paint chips in their developmental years, placed cats in dryers, micro waved snails, spent way too much time in front of game consoles, and/or ate vats of noodles with ketchup and Costco Bake easy pizzas — their Italian cuisine Elysium. The result: the single worst pizza joint on the planet. The food is so bad that relief workers in Central Africa refused to serve it in the refugee camps for fear of Jihad and Siberian gulag«guests» emailed the U.N. for what triggered the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back regarding human rights violations. Service is so bad that it makes you cry laughing; our party of ten could not stop joking about how terrible the experience was during the entire mistake of entering this place after a flick across the street. I would rather slam my private parts, our yours on second thought, in a car door than return to this idea ferry, catastrophe of an eatery. Way to go «wonder boys» — now go spend some more of Daddy’s money on under water BB stacking research or just continue swinging the bat at your Idea Piata.

Pizzeria SFO moved from their Embarcadero West location to the old Kimball’s Carnival a block away. It’s now a restaurant/pool hall. It’s a great big space… except they should work on the seating arrangements a little bit more. They have 3 projection screens on the wall above the bar, and 1 more in the back for the pool hall area. All were tuned into the Warrior’s playoff game. There is a side reserved area which houses it’s own big screen for a group party. No LCD/Plasmas hanging off the ceiling, which is a shame. The long bar seems ready to accommodate anyone’s needs. As far as food goes. Pizzeria SFO’s specialty is the deep dish. I actually ended up liking it to some degree. Had it not been a special with extra cheese on it, I probably would’ve liked it a lot more. The sauce was just about right and not too heavy. The crust was buttery with a slight crisp to the outside. I enjoyed it more than I did Zachary’s. I didn’t get a chance to shoot any pool, but now that I know that it’s here, I’ll be back with my cue.

Alright, stopped here after a LOOOOOOONG hike in Tilden Park… after wanting Zachary’s and realizing it was Easter, so they weren’t open, we decided to hit UNO’s. Ahhh, UNO’s, my FAVORITE pizza, has changed into Pizza SFO. Alright, we’ll try it. First off, the service was RIDICULOUSLY slow. Slow, like there were 4 full tables in the restaurant, she was covering one(us) and maybe one other. And she still took her sweet-ass time to get her butt over to us. When she got to the table we got a bored waitress, not even attempting to be friendly. EVENTUALLY, she brought our sodas… then asked for our order. I can say nothing fantastic about the waitress. She was horrible, and took forever to do anything. When we did get our Potato Skins, I asked for ranch, and she proceeded to clean off another table before going to get the ranch. *sigh* What can I say… just…fucking SLOW. The Potato Skins were great(but the mashed potato in them was bland), the ranch was tasty, and when we did get the actual pizza, it was pretty tasty too. Food was generally good(though not fantastic), but the service was absolute crap.

I heard they moved and aren’t even located here anymore, but inside of a club or something like that. I loveeeeee pizza skins! The pizza skins get 5 stars… everythign else gets Negative! One time I ordered fish and chips, and they were still frozen! GROSS! The pizza is okay, but not that great… the pasta is okay at best… but the PIZZASKINS! YUMM-O!

If you like greasy, unhealthy junk food, you’ll like SFO… that’s not sarcasm. If it wasn’t for heart attacks and cellulite, I would have eaten there much more often. I used to work in an office in JLS and I’d get the lunch special. For like $ 8 you’d get a salad, some bread and either a pizza or some pasta. The pasta never ceased to amaze me with it’s simple, strangely oily deliciousness and the deep dish cheese pizza was crazy greasy-good. No mounds of dry, bready crust there– practically every centimeter has been touched by oil and/or cheese. They are slow so if you’re not within walking distance, call ahead. But a great value for the harried worker bee on a sweet, sweet cheese binge. I probably would not come on a date though.

3 Sturrs for this one ;) Average…pizza was good, we had the regular pepperoni deep dish and some broccoli mushroom deep dish… nice and bready crust just the way i like it… but come on. how badly CAN you screw up pizza before it gets disgusting? The service however, is quite slow… it took us forever to pay our billl … the servers are nice but that one girl could have stopped showing us her boobies every two seconds… beh. HAHA… I’d come back again :)

Okay, so they have pretty basic toppings for their pizzas and the bathroom was pretty nasty, but that thick crust was probably the best I’ve tasted in my LIFE. The wait-staff was kind of slow but really friendly and this one time I went with my roommate the server was soooo happy that we ordered thick crust that he praised us on our good sense for several minutes. Also, it’s very reasonably priced and the location is perfect, being caddy-corner to the Jack London Square parking garage and right across from the theater.

I’ve been here once and felt *meh* about it. Went again to the new location combined with Kimballs and the place… was a fantastic joke. The cheese wasn’t even melted on the pizza in some parts, there’s no drink list, and the service is still super super slow. Fortunately we were in high spirits — if you will — so one star for giving us a lot of good laughs. At least there are pool tables where I can give other people good laughs in return.

I’ve had so many really bad deep dish pizzas in the Bay Area now, that this above average place gets an extra star just for that issue. It was a bit pricey and the beer isn’t especially cheap, but I had a decent, hardy meal that satisfied my pizza cravings for another week. Service was a bit on the weak side by waifs that looked liked they were in high school — and kinda had that attitude, too. If you’re wandering around JLS and can’t afford to eat at the fancier places, then it’s worth a shot.

Deep dish pizza that is truly nothing to write home about, but does the trick in a pinch. The waitress was friendly and the pizza was okay. I’d give it a C. Hence, the 3 stars. Yay, average!

This place used to be Uno’s, my favorite Chicago-style pizza place as a kid. We had dinner here after taking some out-of-towners all over the Bay Area. The potato skins are good; they would probably be even better if you’re having a beer, or two. It’s a greasy thick-crust pizza place and the sauce is nothing to write home about, but it’s okay; it’s edible. Occasionally, it will satisfy your pizza craving, but not when you’re looking for great pizza. I won’t return to this particular location if I have to pay with a credit card, though. My brother paid using his Amex, the only time his credit card was out of his site during his visit, and 2 days later, Amex called to let him know that there were fraudulent charges on his card… Over $ 200 in charges at a gas station. I realize gas is pricey these days, but that’s at least 2 full tanks for an SUV.

Used to go here a lot when I worked in Jack London Square. Dining in *will* take a while. At all hours of the day, the service is generally pretty terrible. Refills are slow in coming, and it takes ages to get waited on in pretty much any capacity. This can be remedied somewhat around lunchtime if you stick with their lunch specials(the quick lunch menu) — which is, fortunately, fairly priced and comes with more than ample food for one person. Their soups are good, and their salads, while not great, certainly aren’t bad. I love both deep dish and thin crust pizza, but their thin crust is… not so hot. I would definitely recommend Chicago with SFO. Overall the food is a notch or two above average, but the service drags things down considerably. They will allow you to call ahead if you want, so this can speed up delivery of your pie if you’re eating in by a considerable amount.

formerly uno’s… i do not frequent jack london square. in fact, i will do my best to avoid going down there until someone revamps everything on the other side of 580 in oakland but that is a whole other category on Unilocal… anyhoo… i dont like going out to pay for pasta unless it is EXTRAORDINARY(which is rare), but this place is not so bad. maybe it’s their potato skins — one of the best things on their menu — which is made like a pizza on a pizza crust, yummmmmm. i ordered their chicken parmesan and they let a super picky girl like me request it with alfredo sauce. the food came out pretty quick and the server was really nice. the chicken was pretty tasty, it was like a friend chicken. other than that, the pasta didn’t really have a lot of flavor at all. they let my friend order something that was on the menu when it was uno’s(rattlesnake pasta) which they have since taken off. the service here is great, especially when they are so nice about letting you substitute and request off-the-menu items.

Came here for weekday lunch with a few coworkers. Most of us ordered from their quick lunch menu, which range from $ 5.99 to $ 7.99. Choices from this menu include deep dish pizza, thin crust pizza, fish and chips, tri-tip with rice pilaf, and soup/salad combo. Many of the quick lunch menu items also come with a side of salad or a cup of soup. I had clam chowder with my my tri-tip($ 7.99). Clam chowder was nice and hot, but tri-tip was just chunks of beef stir-fried with mushroom and lots of onions, served next to some yucky rice pilaf. I’ll make sure I’ll stick with their pizzas next time. Saw a sign that said that they’ll be moving to a new location(on Washington) starting Nov 1, 06. Bottom line: It’d be safer to go for what they are known for — their deep dish pizzas.

Update: pretty much gone. Inside Kimball’s but no signage, no phone number. Maybe it was the margaritas, but this place had surprisingly good pizza. The salad is definitely big enough for two. Gives overrated Zach’s a run for its money.

it was possibly on a sunday afternoon. husband and i dropped by for a bite to eat. there were hardly any diners in the restaurant. not sure if it was shift change, but it did take a while before a server came to our table. meanwhile the busser came by a few times and even took our drink orders so that was cool. our server was nice… but the whole process did run a bit slow. pretty good deep dish pizza if you’re in the area and in mood for some pizza(by all means does it not beat little star or even zachary’s). of course they have other items on the menu as well.

Friendly, but really slow, service. Pizza was pretty good for the price(nice small Chicago style sizes). Chicago style isn’t as good as Zachary’s and the thin crusted pizzas aren’t as good as places that wood fire them(for example, CPK and Wolfgang Puck). Good variety. Accepts credit cards. Take THAT, Zachary’s…

Some of the employees at Everett and Jones are on an errant quest to find the best delivery/take-out option in the Jack London Square Area… Sometimes, we make bad calls. Alright, we weren’t expecting brilliance. It was raining. We didn’t want to run out into the rain, in order to find food. Delivery, right? Right! It was just so frustrating at times. For example, when my «fish and chips» was actually a VERY large, single fish fillet. Thats how I discovered that the«chips» part in «fish and chips» was just an expression; there actually were no «chips». Just to be clear, there were no chips, fries, potatoes, starches, or any real sides that come with the«fish and chips» dinner from pizzeria SFO Bar & Grill. All my entrée, if you can call it that, came with was the tiniest of tartar sauce cups(which, was just about 99.99998% mayo and maybe a mol’s worth of relish) and a McDonald’s self-serve ketchup size cup worth’s of the most rancid and disgusting cole slaw I have… Okay. It was bad. I’ll stop with the negative’s here. Plus one-star because it was delivered free of charge! Wait, now I have a place that horrifies me as a two-star place. I have to be fair though. After all, when you try delivery from a place with their menu printed on a page in the Yellow Pages… you take risks. No?

The site of the former Pizzeria Uno, never knew SFO Pizza was so good that you’d start a chain with its name but ok. Typical Pizzeria Uno fare-everythings fried or carb overloaded Poor service, I think I’m still waiting for my mozzarella sticks!
