Specialties
This is a boot camp specialized for Women. It is a 4 week progressive boot camp designed to challenge you, but not be impossible. The group is composed of a variety of ages, physical abilities, and backgrounds. Our goal is to create a great a community of women who enjoy working hard and having fun.
History
Established in 2009.
Like many women I went from playing and working out all the time to a desk job 40 plus hours a week. I still coached volleyball and thought that was enough of a workout, but I was mistaken and put on 60 pounds over the course of a couple of years. Finally, I had enough and changed my life entirely. I knew I had to start working out again, but didn’t know where to start. I went very slowly, but then discovered weight lifting. That made all of the difference for me. Next, I discovered this craze called boot camps. This concept made perfect sense to me and I started working for a boot camp based in San Francisco. The women were wonderful and the vibe was so positive that I knew I had found my calling. I live in Oakland and I was feeling a pull to be connected with my community and not commute daily to the City. I am attracted to the diverse community here in Oakland and I had the vision of capturing that feel in my own boot camp company. Thus ProAction Athletics was born.

Sarah A.
Business Owner
I am both a personal trainer and a volleyball coach. I enjoy being outside and cracking jokes. My philosophy on exercise is that it should be fun, varied, and produce results. All of these attributes naturally attracted me to the idea of owning a boot camp and sharing my knowledge and passion for fitness with the masses.
Oakland is where I live because the community is full of diversity. My goal is to create a place where all types of women can feel comfortable pushing themselves with other like-minded self-empowered women.
