Rollin’ Along

David is a fair, easy going, knowledgeable man. He helped me over the years with various mobility installations for my Mom’s home and car. I highly recommend him!

If i could give this 0 stars I would. Let me start off by saying I got into an almost deadly car accident last week ended up with one really bad broken ankle had one surgery and still having surgery this Wednesday and another fractured foot so right now I can’t walk. I never write Unilocal reviews but I really had to for this one because I’ve never gotten worse service then the one I got today. Two days ago my husband dropped off my wheelchair because the foot rest part came off so we needed help fixing it I thought it wouldn’t take so long because it didn’t look so complicated to fix and I found David through Unilocal I live 3 blocks away so decided to give him a try. Called him today in the morning and he said he hadn’t even taken a look at the wheelchair yet and that when he was done with his breakfast he would check it out, sounded rude since the beginning and I needed the wheelchair but I didn’t want to rush him so I said whenever he had time it would be fine. I asked him how much he would charge me and he wouldn’t tell me the price he just said $ 40 for drop off and that when he looked at the wheelchair he would let me know he never gave me a call back to even let me know the price. Then he called me saying he needed to go to the hardware store and get a part that was 50 cents and I told him my husband could go get the part for him I was trying to make things as easy as possible for him so I could get my wheelchair by today otherwise he said he would have it ready until Monday. So my husband goes to his house to see what part he needed to get and asks how much he’s going to charge us and he says $ 107 dollars ! Even if my husband was gonna go to the hardware store to buy the 0.50 cent part, even though my husband went to drop off the wheelchair, and even though we were being patient had been waiting two days for David to take a look at the wheelchair and even he said it took 30 minutes of his time.$ 107 and the wheelchair was a gift from my mother in law and it had costed her $ 30 (it was used but still a nice wheelchair) so he wanted us to pay him $ 107 for 30 minutes of his 24hr day and was being rude the whole time about it and he’s supposedly a «PROFESSIONAL «we told him he could just keep the wheelchair and he said he was gonna throw it away anyways. So my husband gives him $ 40 after a big argument and he says ok but to never go back as if we really want to go back. But just warning you maybe we had bad luck with him maybe not everyone will but this was my worst experience and just wanted to share it with all of you.

Same day fix for airline damaged scooter. Came to my house. Very responsive. Worked for me.

This firm over charges for what they sell.
They hide the charges by adding to cost to the products they provide.
Apparently they’ve decided their VERY high hourly rate ($ 2/​minute) isn’t enough.
They hide extra costs by bumping up the cost of products provided along with the service.
They charged my elderly relative twice what similar batteries could be purchased for from other firms.
They EVEN charged over the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) from the same exact brand. Who does that? Well, Rolling Along does.
A similar repair firm quoted the exact same item for 2/​3rds the price Rolling Along charged, and this after the relative had used the firm loyally and frequently.
The owner agreed they charge more than others, but justified it saying they give good service. $ 2/​minute isn’t enough for their service?
Based on what I’ve seen, they’re just another greedy firm taking advantage of elderly clients’ dependence on their mobility, combined with cognition issues.

I am totally satisfied with Rollin’ Along! They are GREAT! Great service: Prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, and amazing! They have a service van and do repairs/​maintenance on site. No more making arrangements for delivery of my scooter to the shop! The shop arrives at my house completes the work today and I am up and running this afternoon. They are prompt in answering prone calls, scheduling service, ordering parts, and making repairs on site. -
I live in the South Bay Area, and am quite arthritic. I bought an electric, battery powered four wheeled mobility scooter three years ago and depend upon my scooter for going to the library, walking my dog, visiting neighbors, and local shopping. Recently, the company that I purchased and maintained the scooter (Benton Medical) closed shop and went out of business! Big problem my scooter batteries failing, turn signal out. With my scooter’s batteries all but dead now I called orthopedic supply shops for help. One recommended, call «Rollin’ Along». My lucky day! –I can’t say enough good things about Rollin’ Along! Great service and experience!
David was informative, patient, and was able to quickly arrange for an appointment for my parents’ chairlift the same day (even though they had a very full day of appointments). He could hear we were in a bind with both of my elderly parents in need of their chair lift
Scott called ahead of time and showed up on time. He was friendly and was able to replace the battery on the main lift. He also made time to replace the battery on the other lift.
I would highly recommend Rollin’ Along. Thank you David and Scott!

Called right after holiday weekend, they came down that night, serviced both my broken power wheelchairs. They ere polite, efficient and I’ll use them to fix other problems. Rates are affordable and include some return visits.

I’d give five stars except it took over a week to even get an appointment this most recent time I used them (being told repeatedly that someone would call back to set a time and then hearing nothing for days.) So this is not the best service for an emergency, it seems. I depend on my scooter and, when it acts up, it means I can’t leave my home unaided. Thank heavens they do come out to the home — I don’t have a vehicle into which the scooter can fit for transport.
The service however, has been impeccable both times they’ve come out. I’ve been seen by both Dave and Scott and they both have excellent knowledge of how mobility devices work, what problems are likely to be experienced and what to do about them. The second, most recent, service visit turned out to be due to my batteries failing while still under warantee but Scott also went over my scooter thoroughly to make sure that there were no unexpected glitches. There was no charge for this nor for the call and, as someone who is disabled and on a fixed income, I appreciated this more than I can say! He also gave me tips for getting the most out of my scooter in the future and left me feeling comfortable that it isn’t going to poop out on me next time I go to the store!
So, their service gets 5 stars and I hope they get the scheduling stuff straightened out because they really deserve to be a full 5 star review. We’ll see what happens next time and, if possible, I’ll upgrade my review.

From the moment David and his wife rolled up to my doorstep I knew my mobility issues concerning the operation of my wheelchair lift were over. That was over 10 years ago and they still keep my lift purring like a kitty. Before Rollin along I had been ripped off several times for hundreds of dollars and shoddy work. When I first heard the rate I was in shock but soon realized it. Always came out to my advantage. David is well organized knowledgeable and quick he diagnosis the problem and fixes the problem he takes time to clean up his work space too He is an asset to the disabled community this last time he was kind enough to help me over the phone without rushing me off but in the end I needed his expertise he also gives a discount for cash payments and who doesn’t like that

My calls were returned promptly. David, the owner of the company, was extremely knowledgable and professional. We had a sit down consultation, which took about an hour (pricing and detailed measurements included during this time), but was full of very informative items. The 4 minute video on the stairlift was a bit corny, but was necessary, since it offered lift info and options available. Be prepared to receive a bit of a shock from the pricing, but most stair lifts are pricey.

David was great. Figured out the problem quickly. Got the parts on warranty without my having to deal with it. Came out as soon as the parts were delivered. Fair price. He is a busy guy, so he may arrived a bit late. Be patient. He will show up.

David Lincer just installed a chair lift for my mother. The price was fair. The service was great. He was on time and totally reliable. My mother has terrazzo stairs which can crack easily if the person does not know what he is doing. The stairs are in perfect condition. The chair works beautifully and my 98 year old mom is now able to leave her house and go back to playing bridge. Highly recommended!!!

These guys are really thorough, competent, and caring. They will not leave anything «kind of OK;» they make sure it really works. Prices are quite reasonable. I mostly know about them from mobility scooter repair, but have heard similar good things about their stair lifts and other services. They solved a scooter problem that the manufacturer couldn’t figure out.
