We are a play-​based preschool enrolling children aged 2 years 9 months-​5 (or kindergarten entry). We feel that children learn best through play and discovery. We foster a child’s natural inclination to explore their world, ask questions, make connections, talk with other children and adults, and become independent. Creativity is encouraged through music, art, storytelling, dance and play. We also prepare children for kindergarten with a combination of small and large group activities. One of our biggest treasures is our expansive playground in a beautiful pine-​forested environment. We help children to connect with nature, make new friends and learn through play!

History

Established in 1970.

The Preschool was originally developed as an outreach of Skyline Community Church over 30 years ago. Although the school is still hosted by the church, there is no religious instruction in school and families of all faiths are welcome.

Meet the Manager

Alana J P.

Manager

Skyline Preschool is staffed by 5 experienced and well educated teachers. Director Alana J Pinsler has been teaching since 2004. She obtained her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership in Early Childhood Education from Mills College in 2014. Her Bachelor’s degree is from UC Santa Cruz in Community Studies, with an emphasis in Public Health Education. Please see our website for all teachers’ bios and to see photographs of our facility.
