Studio 678 specializes in creating custom design themes for Wordpress, a Content Management System (CMS) which is used to update your website text and images. This allows clients to update their websites from any web enabled computer or device.

Established in 2004.

Studio 678 was established in 2004. Owner Michael Waters began his web design career in 1997 and worked for a small web development company in San Francisco from 1999~2004 before venturing out on his own.

Studio 678 strives to create easy to navigate, uncluttered web sites that can be maintained by the client in terms of updating text and images.

Studio 678 owner Michael Waters has a background in Financial Management (Esprit De Corps., Bank of America, GAP) as well as a concurrent career as a musician for the past 20 years, performing at many Bay Area venues.

Michael is a member of a local BNI chapter and possesses a rare mix of technical and interpersonal skills. He loves web design and especially enjoys helping his clients to develop a strong web presence.

Mike Waters is the fifth and best Web designer that I have worked with. He is attentive, clear, accessible and creative. He also taught a staff member how to handle some of the word press tasks, giving us independence for many things and saving us money. But he really impressed me when he made time on Christmas Eve to swiftly edit and revise the web site due to a change in my work situation that impacted my client base. He also is truly kind and helpful interacting with others in my team regarding social media. I feel fortunate to have Mike as my Web designer and highly recommend him.

Mike designed my first website about 7 years ago. It was great then, but was looking a bit old-​fashioned for 2014. I don’t know that I could have re-​vamped my website with anyone else. My desire would be to make a website and never have to do it again. As it turns out, I really enjoyed doing the update even though it felt like a necessary chore to me. I have total faith in Mike’s expertise and artistic sense. He’s able to inspire me to be a better marketer and has great patience with me. And everyone gives me outrageously good feedback about the new design. It’s pretty unique for my industry. That’s how I like to think about my business. The new website expresses that intention. We are launching it this week.

I am an acupuncturist in Berkeley and have had years of experience with websites and optimization issues. I have hired others to help improve the website and have tried things on my own that worked for awhile but didn’t last. Then I had a consult with Mike at Studio 678.
Mike created a written analysis and plan that targeted areas that could improve my SEO standing. While
has lots going for it, it wasn’t living up to the theoretical potential. After a few changes, my search standings started to improve significantly. The other people working on my website (s) may have helped create part of the foundation, Mike has buttressed the foundation and got the walls and roof to really start to stand out.
