What is sweet little find this was. I have been looking around the Bay Area for a decent salad bar. And too much of my demise I have not been able to put that together yet. Sometimes you just want a salad with all the toppings that you can think of. Well I happen to find this place by accident because I’m sort of from the other side of the bay and not aware of what’s around me as far as restaurants in other cities. And I spotted the rotisserie deli. I walked in and the people running the place were very very nice and very warm and inviting I looked around and they have row after row of toppings for your salad. This place is amazing. Everything I can possibly think of putting on top of the salad is there. Now you go with whatever appetite you want because it’s by the pound its not buy the item. So go and make a big one or small one with your wallets fat or thin this is the place you want to go. If anybody knows of an all-you-can-eat salad bar or a great salad bar in the North Bay County please let me know. But as far as that goes this is my land stop now.

I’m surprised the average of these reviews isn’t higher. If you’re looking for a solid lunch-time salad bar with hot food items, this is a reliable place. Come during typical lunch hours and there’s usually plenty of food filled to the brim. You can also order sandwiches, and that’s a separate line. If you’re opting for the buffet style salad-bar/hot foods, then pick up a plastic container against the wall by the door and start filling it up… but be careful, the price is by weight and it adds up really quickly, especially if you want to try to keep it under the $ 10 range. The sole fish(Asian style — marinated with green onions, soy sauce, vinegar, etc.) is a great option for something healthy and tender. It’s really popular here with people stacking up pieces of the fish! Actually reminds me of my mom’s great homemade fish. You can’t find this anywhere else in the area, and it’s hard to find fish in the area, period so if you need some Omega-3 then you’ll do alright here. The hot foods item features mainly Asian dishes — chow mein, fried rice, veggie stir fry, potstickers(these tend to be a bit hard here though), soy sauce string beans, egg rolls, thai curry. But there’s also fried fish, and items like lasagna sometimes. The salad bar is what you’d expect but also a bit more — there’s various cold noodles, some sushi, brussel sprouts… chances are whatever cold item you’re looking for will be here. Service tends to be prompt and speedy! They get you in and out.

Solid spot for lunch. The line gets backed up and it’s pretty confusing when you first walk in, but just take a step back and observe for a minute. You’ll catch on pretty quickly. I love their soups, and the price is very reasonable. The soups are pretty hearty. Great for the upcoming winter months! Haven’t tried their hot food/salad bar yet, but will definitely come back to give it a try. It also sounds like I have to try their fried chicken sandwich really soon, too!

It’s fine. It’s a salad bar/cheap chinese food bar/deli. It’s pretty expensive and I go to it simply because of its proximity to my office. I definitely don’t go for the staff, who tend to be rude. Today I handed my payment card to the cashier who didn’t look me in the eye, walked away as I was standing waiting for my receipt, and when I asked for it she sighed like it was an ordeal. She gave me a receipt from the cash register and when I asked for my credit card receipt she rolled her eyes and huffed again. It turns out they’re now using the Square payment system and they haven’t invested in a receipt printer. She handed me the pad like it was a huge deal and said, «Do you want it by text or email?!» Her attitude that I was being unreasonable in asking for a receipt reminded me that I really don’t like the staff here. The good: sauteed green beans and/or asparagus.

This is my second visit, but first time for breakfast. The hashbrowns were burnt. The eggs were gross. I WILLNOT be back. That was a waste of my money. YUCK!!!

I’ve gone to this location on two(2) separate occasions and both times the staff were rude. I had a card for a free sandwich which was paid for in advance, by the organization that gave it to me. The staff at the Rotisserie Deli treated me like they were pissed off because I was using it. I felt the need to mention that this card was paid for in advance so this is not really a free sandwich! So please don’t treat me like I’m less than a paying customer. And by the way, The sandwich was just average, sorry to say I’ve had better at Subway!

I’m happy to say things have definitely changed over here and I am recommending more and more of my co workers come check this spot out. There aren’t as many workers as there was before and the ones that are there are pretty friendly and appear to be happy :) awesome sauce right! They brought the lemon pepper chicken back for me :) they really did and its still just as good as before. I come here almost every day for lunch as I like their grilled chicken variety which sometimes includes teriyaki, vietnamese, and of course lemon pepper :) Their chicken enchiladas are delicious as well. I’m a creature if habit so I don’t venture off to other things much, but my co workers love the salad, and sushi bar. I will have to snap a few more shots of the food to promote this place I eat at almost everyday now :) change is good. I can say my experience here has dramatically improved since my previous review. Cheers!

I like coming here for their hot/cold buffet bars. They have a large selection of Chinese food, meat/fish, fried foods, fruits, salad ingredients, pastas, and even sushi. It’s a bit pricier compared to the other closer places to my job; so, I don’t make the trek out here as often. However, that chicken sandwich everyone else is talking about looks worth another trip.

Their fried chicken sandwich is awesome! I couldn’t finish it. So I will devour the other half later. I had to wait 5 mins for them to fry the chicken breast. It was well worth it. Every bite was amazing. The crispiness of the breading was perfect. For $ 7.75, this sandwich packs a good punch to my taste buds. Looks like I found my go to chicken sandwich spot.

Go here for the Chicken Pozole on Tuesdays and Wednesdays! IMO, good pozole is not easy to find. But luckily I found this deelish concoction right across the street from my work — super flavorful and hearty soup base, tender shredded chicken, and perfectly textured hominy. Yum!

Who put cooked broccoli in the salad bar? Please refrain from doing that. Also, better that Fountain Café as far as set up, but why is the sandwich line & cashier not organized better?

Great food and an awesome section and a great price. I’ve been going there about once a week for the past couple years and have yet to try the rotisserie chicken. They make the best breakfast burrito — not to mention the breakfast buffet section before 11 for something quick and hot. Otherwise they’re Fried Chicken Sandwich is definitely worth trying, along with their lunch buffet items and salad bar.

Big turkey club made with real turkey and other fresh ingredients. Great sandwich for only $ 7.50 and big enough for two people.

Sandwich was gorgeous, and the staff were super nice. They went out of there way to help me find directions to where I had to go. Lovely people work here:)

I wish there is a negative star. This so called«restaurant» crippled my wife for almost two days in vomiting and fever. The symptoms started 2 hours after her lunch. I was about to call 911 seeing she suffered so much. If they don’t know how to handle food safely, why risk customer’s health and lives? Do they really care? It is so outrageous. Whatever you do, if you are not suicidal, don’t eat here!

My girlfriend wanted to try it out. We are major sandwich connoisseurs. My sandwich was ok. I got the chicken salad on Dutch crutch. Nothing special at all. My girlfriend hated hers. «Is pretty hard to make a sandwich that disappoints. They’ve done it.» The Dutch crunch roll was not fully cooked and tasted like dough. The turkey was thicker than what you see on your plate at thanksgiving. Disappointing visit.

I like this place. I’ve been here a few times. It’s nearby my workplace. Had their rotisserie chicken meal, fried chicken sandwich and breakfast burrito. Good decent deli food at an affordable price. Quick service and friendly staff.

This was way better than I thought. As far as a salad bar is concerned, they have a large selection here. They have beets, eggs, peas, lettuce, etc., but also they have asparagus, kale, and deli meats you can add to your salad. Had one of the sushi pieces, and it was pretty good, too. Lots of Japanese mayo sauce, so I only could handle one of its richness. Great work-lunch place for your salad needs.

Another one of my frequent stops for lunch in Oakland. If you choose not to get a sandwich then you can choose from an assortment of foods and salad which gets weighed for cost. Overall the price is reasonable and the salads are fresh. I like the assortment of foods they have especially when I want to go low carb or low fat. Really like the steamed sole fish. It’s really good here and I always get it :) Overall a solid lunch spot in downtown Oakland and I recommend it!

You ever see those Kia Soul commercials with the hip-hop hamsters rapping and acting like thugs? That is an apt metaphor for Oakland in my mind — a city with a tough, often unwanted image but with residents that are closer in nature to furry little animals running nowhere on exercise wheels. That has next to nothing to do with the Rotisserie Deli, but when I come out of the 12th Street BART station onto Frank Ogawa Plaza, that’s what I think of now. «You can get with this, or you can get with that. You can get with this, or you can get with that…» I like the concept of a deli with a rotisserie, but I was there too early to gnaw on a roast chicken. It was during the morning commute hour right after a dentist appointment. For less than $ 2, I was able to get a honking-big bagel with a solid wedge of cream cheese, tomato and cucumber slices, and sprouts(see photo). The place was filling up fast with city workers chit-chatting and yelling at each other like gangstas. If I was back in Oaktown(former resident of two decades here), I’d probably frequent the Rotisserie Deli for my daytime eats ’cause…“You can get with this, or you can get with that. You can get with this, or you can get with that…“ FOOD — 3 stars… judging by the bagel, hefty eats are yours here AMBIANCE — 2.5 stars… just a quick hangout for downtown office workers SERVICE — 3.5 stars… nice and generous with their fixings TOTAL — 3 stars… rapping hamsters need not apply
