Food was pretty good. Sis and I shared a burrito cone and a quesadilla and it was a lot of food we didn’t finish it. But it was flavorful and spicy with the Serrano chiles.

Really pleased with the quality of ingredients and value. They were one of many food trucks at Fairmeadow in Palo Alto today. Great tacos and value! The taco, at only $ 2, was a perfect snack for hungry kids. The tortilla was really high quality — and the meat and spices hit the spot. Good selection of tacos and burritos, I’d go back for more in a moment! $ 2– for the basic taco is a wonderful value.

Been to this truck for two consecutive Off the Grid’s in El Cerrito — today and last Wednesday and they rocked it both times. My husband and my brother we just as happy. We first went to make up for 2 disappointing tri-tip sandwiches we got from another truck that shall remain anonymous [at least in this review]. The Sunnyside taco and the fish taco are so tasty and the ingredients tasted fresh. People working the truck were friendly and efficient [rare these days to get both.]

I decided to try Twister for the first time for lunch, and got a pastor supreme burrito. Thinking something as simple as a burrito from a «Mexican» food truck can’t be bad. Well, I was wrong. The taste was very bland. As I kept eating it, it was still tasteless. The rice was mushy, and the meat was dry and didn’t taste seasoned at all. It was more like jerky covered in hot chili sauce. I got to half of the burrito, and decided to throw away the rest of it. I don’t like trashing food, but I was very disappointed, and it made me felt a little bit like food poisoning. I’m sorry I will not be getting anything from here again.

I think I misunderstood a bit how to eat the burrito cone. I went at it like an ice cream cone(from the top down) and found that by the end, I was left with just a wad of rice and beans at the bottom, since I’d already eaten all the meat/salsa/chips/cheese on top. I can’t decide if this is a problem of undereducation, or an innate user experience problem(because wouldn’t it be spoiling the spirit of the burrito if I ate it with a fork?). That being said, the chicken in the burrito was also underseasoned, and there were portions of the rice that were way, way, overcooked. My friend was also unimpressed by her shrimp tacos. Long-short, I won’t be coming back.

Had the grilled fish taco and the taco with carnitas and sunny side egg. It was divine. the idea to pair an egg over taco or in a burrito is genius! The seasoning they use on the taco is really tasty. Overall was really impressed with the flavors of this place.

Just had The Chicken Pesto Quesadilla with Balsamic for the second week in a row at the Novato Off the Grid Food Truck event. So delicious, I’m hooked! My husband gets their tacos and loves them too. Don’t miss the opportunity to try them out!

I recently decided to try the Twister food truck at Off the Grid in El Cerrito. After trying most of the trucks at Off the Grid, I can conclude that this one has the worst value of any locations there. First off, the wait was ridiculous. Off the Grid is always packed, so I had no problem waiting, but other carts had customers moving five times as fast as us, I would later discover that this was due to a cashier that seemed to not want to be there at all. When I finally was able to order, I wanted something sweet, so I asked for 3 churros. The cashier looked at me with a blank face and gave me a 1 word reply, «No» Seriously? It was 6′ o clock at this point, and you guys are here from 5 – 10. I know you can make it, you just don’t want to. I settled for a California burrito(Fries, meat, salsa, avocado sauce) with an addition of rice that wasn’t included. I paid $ 1.50 extra just for the rice, expecting it to be an add on to my burrito. Only it wasn’t. Ninety percent of my burrito was rice, with a few piece of fries and meat mixed in. Absolutely awful. When I pay for an add-on to my food I want a bigger portion, not more rice and less expensive meat. I strongly advise you that if you see Twister at Off the Grid, or any other location you steer clear. Mexican Grill with a twist is right: awful staff, awful food and awful service!

California burrito = big disappointment I’ve actually had Twister a few years back but it wasn’t memorable so I don’t know what I had. There also wasn’t a long line here compared to the other trucks and vendors. All red flags that I shouldn’t have tried them out again. My friends and I walked all around the Fremont Art and Wine Festival and settled on getting Twister’s California burrito. I got my burrito with steak. Or so I thought because my burrito consisted primarily of beans and sprinklings of meat. The meat wasn’t seasoned so it was completely bland. The fries were completely soggy without the tiniest bit of crispness. The fillings weren’t evenly distributed so each bite had an uneven ratio. Again, it didn’t help that my burrito was 90% beans! It seemed warm enough when I got it, but the cheese wasn’t completely melted inside. I was left with a cold burrito by the time I reached the last third of the burrito. At that point, I was picking at it and threw it away. And I’m not one to waste food. Their prices($ 8 burritos and $ 3-$ 5 tacos etc.) aren’t worth the quality or quantity of what you get. I’m reminded of why I’m picky with Mexican food and hesitate to get burritos from anywhere but Senaida’s. PASS!

We tried food from Twister at the Livermore Harvest Wine Festival(at Eckert Estates Winery). It was fabulous and we went back 3 times. The street tacos were to die for. The we’re authentic and fresh. The quesadillas had a nice crisp and were not the least bit oily. Pico de Gallo, served with chips, was also made fresh with nice chunks of fresh jalapeño. Yum! We are going back today. FYI, the truck is also at Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton every Tuesday from 4:30 to 7:00 pm as a fundraiser for the band to go to the Fiesta Bowl. Great food, great cause. This review is for their tacos. For 2 $ I knew I shouldn’t expect too much, but these were tiny! They were basically one bite size. And the corn tortilla was soaked in grease. YUCK. Furthermore, I found a piece of hair in one of my tacos! The flavoring of the steak and chicken was good I will say. The fish taco was not memorable at all. Will not return.

I got one of their burrito cones with shrimp. This sounded like a wonderful concoction, but actually was very difficult to eat. I also could only take so much of the fried cone… heavy. The shrimp were delicious, though, and nicely cooked.

Twister catered an event at Studio 333 in Sausalito while on a trip with our seniors from LA and the rocked it! Erin and her crew knocked it out of the park with service, quality and taste. Twister could not have been any better. The tacos, cones and burritos were excellent — the torta was a huge hit… second only to the churros.

Bad, smelly, food, creating nauseating situation, or food poisoning — all that is true, my bad I did not read Unilocal’s reviews before buying from them, what I hated was the pathetic behavior on top of all that. This food truck comes to Stanford campus as part of the food truck rotation program. There’s an old half deaf man, who(really) doesn’t care for his customers. I ordered a burrito, and waited 5 – 10 minutes. When finally my number came, the man gave it to some other guy, who was supposed to take the next order. This is fine, can be a mistake, and I wasn’t sure if this happened. I just thought they can make a later order before. Then I overheard some conversation, the other person who was making the burritos told the old man that he made a mistake and gave the wrong burrito. So, ok, they can rectify the mistake and not give me the wrong burrito, make the right one for me. But NO, the old man decided to give me the other guy’s order, just to save his 1 burrito! Well, I should have re checked? Right? I did! I asked the old sunky guy two three times if my burrito contained only chicken, as I can’t eat other meat. And he confirmed it every time I asked, he lied openly, and blatantly, and I thought, ok, they must have made a new one for me. That’s how it should have happened, but as you must have guessed by now, that they didn’t. Just to save a burrito that they made, the old man on purpose gave the wrong order to me, even after I confirmed it from him 2 – 3 times. I went back, had 2 back to back meetings, realized that my burrito contained steak, which I don’t like to eat, staying hungry for next two hours, came back to the old man, and started chatting with him, and I heard the worst words ever that could be used by an old man, he said, ‘you spoiled stanford brats keep doing like this, I will exchange your burrito, it’s not my fault that you guys keep grabbing others’ burritos.’. I wish their food truck is removed from the Stanford’s list of trucks, I am looking to what I can do, to not have such people enter our campus.

Found the truck parked at Union Landing. I got a taco and a burrito. Both were a bit on the disappointing side with a lack of flavor. I did not have the special however, the Twister Burrito Cone. So I think I will have to try it out. The black beans were alright but the meat was bland.

Tried this place for the first time at Off the Grid — El Cerrito. This truck claims to make Mexican food with a «twist». I was intrigued by the«Twister Burrito» as it describes it as a burrito served in a crispy tortilla«cone». I decided to add the sunny-side egg to it which made it the«Sunset Burrito». Overall, I would say it looks better than it taste. Though it’s a «burrito», it’s really just a glorified taco salad served in a crispy tortilla cone. The concept is interesting but eating it is precarious. You definitely can eat all the ingredients, but to eat the shell is a bit challenging. It’s serve in a cup and it’s hard to eat the shell without having the ingredients inside from spilling out. All the ingredients inside the burrito were a good decent portion but nothing was a standout. I also ordered a churro for dessert and it was pretty good size and definitely tasted fresh. I might try this place again but I only give it 3 stars because there’s nothing I could«RAVE» about. Also, be prepared to wait. Everyone waited at least 10 minutes for their food AFTER they ordered and I was there«post peak». I can only imagine the wait when it’s really crowded.

And for my next act, I will make a chicken torta disappear! And indeed I did. I came back my second time around, early enough to finally try their torta. Apparently, I came thirty minutes late to the Union City Street Eats event and the truck was still closed. So, I went into Wal-Mart and browsed for another fifteen minutes. After the fifteen minutes was over, the truck was still closed. I had to stick around for the truck to open since, I was picking up dinner for my parents as well. After another fifteen minutes, the truck finally opened. Once I had my chance to place my order, I took it in a heart beat. Without hesitation I ordered 3 chicken tortas. The prep time for my order took about ten minutes. I asked for this order to go and they were wrapped with foil neatly. Too bad they didn’t have bags, so it was kinda difficult to carry three orders of tortas. When I got home, the tortas were kept warm with the foil. The torta was made with — a toasted roll with chipotle spread — queso fresco cheese — grilled onions — lettuce — tomatoes — avocado — and grilled chicken The roll was warm and a little crunchy. Luckily, for me the condensation in the packaging didn’t make the roll soggy. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The veggies tasted fresh. This was my first torta experience and it was great. I’m glad to report that my parents also enjoyed the tortas. I’ll definitely for another torta any day!

Twister is a gourmet truck that grills mexican eats and serves it in a cone(for coneheads?), french fries in a burrito, san diego style, and a twist on traditional while serving it via tortas, quesadillas, and tacos. believe they claim all foods prepared on site. locale: new park mall(4⁄25) eats: chicken taco(1.95) fish taco(2.5) out –diced orange chicken breast with cilantro, onions –meat tasted dry, no moisture, no chicken taste –didn’t taste any salsa. lime wedge provided. –portion ok –rating 2.5 frijoles refritos: –would retry if i can figure out anything i like on «twister» menu. –friendly, fast service.
