Famous icons of the Ocean City, NJ boardwalk, including an assortment of flavored popcorn like chocolate, cheddar & carmel popcorn. A great gluten free gift.
Let me start this review by stating in no uncertain terms that I LOVE Johnson’s Popcorn. We lived in Ocean City for many years, and a bucket of their caramel corn was a regular staple in our house. My review is strictly concerned with their mail-order business. My mom also adores their caramel corn, so we decided to order a bucket to give to her for Christmas. After reading their website carefully, I ordered the small bucket of caramel corn on December 17th at around 10:15 in the morning. Their website clearly states that orders received before 2PM will be handled the same day. I received an email confirmation of the order at 10:44AM, and a shipping notification at 9:44PM the same day with a tracking number. I waited till late the next afternoon to check on the tracking number, and when I did it still said«Label Created». This is an indication that the package has not been picked up yet. The package was not picked up until after 6PM Friday, thus pushing everything back a day. Estimated delivery was now changed to 12 – 24 by end of day. Normally this wouldn’t be a huge deal, but I live in an apartment complex where all packages are delivered to the office, and they are closed on 12 – 24. I called Customer Service to inquire why my shipment was delayed. The young lady I spoke to was rather rude and dismissive of my problem, at one point asking, «you do realize it’s the holiday season, right?» I asked why their website states that orders by 2pm are shipped the same day, when my order was delayed, and her answer was, «I’m not sure, but two day turnaround is not bad during the holiday rush.» I suggested she should update her website to reflect the possibility of delays during the holidays, and her response was, «maybe next year.» Here is my main issue. Johnson’s Popcorn does a brisk mail-order business. They advertise one thing on their website, but do not stick by their promise. When I pointed this out to them, instead of an apology and a promise to do better, I got an attitude and flippant responses to my concerns. I should also point out that they charge pretty outrageous prices for shipping. If you walk into a Johnson’s on Ocean city and buy a small bucket of caramel popcorn, you will spend around 9 dollars. The small bucket I ordered ended up costing $ 19.95. With a regular UPS account, ground shipping from New Jersey to Texas is about $ 5.50 so almost eleven dollars seems a little excessive. Next time I need Johnson’s Popcorn, I will have one of my friends go buy a bucket and send it to me. I am very disappointed in my customer experience with this«family-owned» business.

Perfect small party favor size is going to be great in our welcome bags! They will even put a sticker with a note on each container.

Love this stuff! The chocolate covered caramel corn is heaven!!! I really love the caramel corn with nuts. The staff are very friendly. Seems a little pricey though. But my family keeps going back monthly because we love it so much!

I can see why this is an OC must have… Slightly addicting Carmel corn in a huge bucket. How can you go wrong… Refills for years to come at a lower price. Again. How can you go wrong!

the owner or someone speaking for the owner did write me a personal e-mail and was super sweet… I gave her a hard time, but she still was sweet… Customer service goes a long way. Also, being the only caramel corn shop on the boards, I’m not sure they have to worry to much about reviews, but they cared enough to reach out. We will be back. Plus, I’ve been eating Johnson’s for years… She said I can get warm nutty popcorn before noon at any shop on the boards… We are taking a trip down this Saturday to find out if she is correct!!! I love nuts!!!

Years ago, this was my favorite place on the boardwalk. I’m not sure if they change the recipe, if I just got a bad batch, or if it’s because my wife and I now make our own caramel corn and we think it’s amazing. This was not good. The popcorn tasted burnt. It was very disappointing.

An absolute MUST when you’re on the boardwalk in Ocean City. My family and I buy the biggest bucket available, always thinking it’s going to last a few days, and it’s always gone in a few hours. However, I may have to disown them, as I just found out I’m the only one who likes peanuts in my Johnson’s. Guess that just means I get my own bucket.

It’s like a religious experience after the shit storm of a winter that the East Coast has had to come to a place like Johnson’s even in mid-March with the temperature barely over 40, the wind gusting close to 30 and the boards mostly deserted around 14th street. With all that I could still pick up the smell of the freshly popped corn in between 12th&13th street like a beacon of sugary goodness calling out a siren song to everyone around that summer would be back soon and to come give your dentist some more work by refilling your 1999-ish era buckets(all six of them) yet again.

Pros: — Multiple locations on the boardwalk. — Served warm and fresh. — Multiple sizes available. — They serve it up extra high so you get bang for your buck. Cons: — Calories…*shrug*, nom nom nom. Tips: — Eat right away because it is so good when it is warm!

What can I say this is simply the best caramel corn ever. When its warm it is hard to stop eating it. The prices are not bad and you get a resealable container for your popcorn. Excellent

Without a doubt the best caramel coated popcorn anywhere! We tried to analyze why it is so good: is it the shape of the kernels … or is it just the right amount of caramel … or that it is warm and fresh when you buy it? Probably all of the above. We buy a big bucket(bringing the bucket with us to save some $$) and eat some that evening, and then finish it at lunch the next day. This is a wonderful Jersey Shore memory for our family.

If you’re looking for quick cavities and a sugar high, this is it! Johnson’s is my second favorite caramel popcorn place — second to hometown Fisher’s Popcorn of Ocean City, MD — and I always feel compelled to get it while at the beach. I like this location because it accepts credit cards. The best deal is to buy one of the plastic tubs. Why? Because when you buy one on a Sunday, you’ll have it empty by Monday, and surely get a discounted refill by the end of the week! Service is efficient. Popcorn is always consistent. Sidenote: I absolutely LOVE buying a tub to take home, taking the excess off the top to eat as a snack, putting the lid on the tub and then putting the tub full of caramel popcorn in the trunk of my car to let it sit in the hot heat for a few days. Why? Because the melted sugar/caramel makes globs of popcorn. Makes it easier and sweeter to eat. Plus, the bottom crumbs are just as sweet as the top. Yum yum yum!

They do it, and they do it GREAT! You gotta love johnson’s popcorn. If you don’t, someone in your family does and you’ll need to grab a bucket of it for them! In my house, we all love it, so we always need a bunch. They ship anywhere which is a convenient tool. Along the boardwalk, there are so many different johnson’s popcorn locations so you are bound to run into one. Just follow the smell!

This is your express jet to sugar town. But it is so good. So, so, so very good. There’s nothing like fresh hot caramel popcorn from Johnson’s. It most certainly hasn’t changed in quality since I was a little kid. Every time they would dump that huge copper pot filled with the goods into the holding bin, I would smile. They have other varieties and plain popcorn, but seriously stick with the ooey, gooey, goodness! You have a variety of sizes and buckets(Yes, refillable buckets) that you can purchase. There’s multiple locations on the boardwalk. So don’t fret if you pass one and the line is long.

The only received four stars from me because I feel like they are a bit like one trick ponies. However, the popcorn is delicious, especially when it is still warm.

Love, LOVE The popcorn. If you’re visiting town it’s right up there with ocean city’s classic salt water taffy. Reasonably priced for fresh popcorn, but it’s a better deal if you get the bucket honestly. When they aren’t swamped and you buy a cup sometimes they give you extra if you get it in a bag. I believe they also offer shipping out of state for gifting this tasty treat! However you get it, it stays fairly well for a good amount of time. No disappointment here! So don’t be afraid to take some extras home to friends and family.

Went here this week on a cold drizzling December day when the beach was almost empty and tried a small tub and munched it while walking along the beach, it was wonderful and a very pleasant experience!!! Best caramel corn I ever tried. And cool that you can watch the crew making it…

Definitely the best popcorn around, and an Ocean City landmark for sure. In my family, if I mention I am going to OC for a few days, I end up lugging back 30 tubs of popcorn for everyone. As other people have mentioned, get it without the lid, and bring your empty container back for a discounted refill. There are a few Johnson’s locations all along the boardwalk, and now a new place selling Johnson’s attire(?!). They also ship anywhere. Johnson’s offers caramel corn with or without peanuts. You wouldn’t know it, but they also have cheese & regular popcorn. The caramel corn is a must if you are on the boards.
