Capri Nails And Spa

I paid $ 11 for a regular manicure (nothing special. No paraffin, no type of design, just regular nail polish). It was chipped within two days. When I go to other nail spas my manicures last me at least ⁴⁄₅ days and typically only cost $ 7. I wasn’t impressed by this place at all. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Ok so I’m just going to tell it like it is. I’ve been a customer of Capri nails for at least three years but after today I will never go back, perhaps it’s a procession of bad experiences that have cumulated over my last few visits but here is why… My last visit after being told would be a 10 minute wait was turned out to be actually almost 30. I had a gel manicure and pedicure and the nail technician did a terrible job leaving the polish from my last pedicure still in the corners of each toe and when I had my gel manicure it got worse when she began filing the left over polish from my nails and accidentally filed my skin around my nails, which when it occurred I informed her that it hurt and later that night I had two scabbed cuticles, and then when I went to pay I realized the prices had changed drastically and my $ 50 visit way now $ 62, I swore if I went back I would use someone different which leads to today. I arrived and there was no one was waiting. I was given a number, well soon after three more people came in all who of which were all served before me. When I questioned why others that had come in after me were served first I was told they came in and got a number left and came back, which after talking to the prior customer before me I found out was not true, so I left. Hasta la vista Capri nails this is one customer who will never return. With terrible customer service and a mediocre expensive mani and pedi that hurt leads me to believe there are other better salons yet to be discovered

For those looking for a luxurious spa experience, this is not the place. However, for your regular trip to get a mani/​pedi it’s great! Yes it can be busy but if you can’t wait ten minutes then make an appointment. My manicure lasts about a week and pedicure lasts 3 – 4 weeks, but this tends to be my average wherever I go. You get a massage during your manicure or while you’re drying your nails. It’s wonderful!

Twice I’ve come here, once for an acrylic refill and the second for a mani & pedi
The first time I stopped by was only because my mother was next door getting a massage for Mother’s Day. The place looks great on the inside very clean and relaxing. I had high hopes. However their «take a number «waiting is very disorganized. They seem very confused themselves on which person has been waiting first…
I got my color and proceeded for the refill. I liked that the Tv’s kept me occupied.
However the end result was a nice color but kinda messy. The blue was on my cuticles and the lady didn’t bother to clean the edges with some acetone.
My go-​to-​place in Baldwin would never leave my nails that messy.
The second time, again disorganization with the «take a number» I had someone go ahead of me because the lady just asked people’s number and she heard only 1 person respond quickly so she pulled her to start on her nails without even hearing everyone else’s response.
I pointed out I had been there first and she sent me to sit for my pedi. Ok, whatever.
The pedi was fine, nice exfoliation on the legs they wrap around with plastic wrap. It was fairly relaxing

Next came my nails. I had an Essie color in a pastel green. Before she applied color I paid but decided to leave the tip just before leaving. Maybe because she thought I wouldn’t tip she didn’t bother to properly color my nails cuz when I looked at them after drying I noticed the color was poorly distributed across my nails,. I’m sure I could have done a better job myself at home and almost wish I had instead of spending $ 29 just on a fairly good pedi and a half-​ass mani (and even then… I still tipped) I wonder if I had tipped her before hand would she have distributed my color better ???
So twice now I’ve had messed up mani’s at this place. I won’t return for that. Maybe I’ll return just for their pedi’s.
The 2 stars go to 1) the relaxing ambience and 2) for their standard relaxing pedi’s

Rude staff! Was not even finished drying my nails before I was bothered for a tip from the guy who painted my nails! I was astonished when the words left his mouth. I will not be returning.

I payed $ 8 for eyebrows, and they literally did nothing. When I asked for the girl to fix it she tweeted a little but my eyebrows still look a mess. Very disappointed.

They did a great job on the pedi and gel polish manicure for my wedding, however I got toe nail fungus after coming here. I should have been suspicious with all the signs saying how sanitary they are! I will say– massages are great!

Ihave been going to Capri since it’s opening (8 – 9 years ago).
The ambiance is fantastic on a quiet day (not Saturday), the service depends on who you get to work on you, the prices are a bit high (they constantly go up every few months) and the extra perks such as massages and paraffin in the winter are wonderful. Lately, more and more people have been coming in with their children who whine and cry, they are just too young for a mani pedi (read: 3 – 5), so it tends to start feeling like a daycare center despite the gorgeous surroundings. So on an off time, the experience is much different and great.
I used to love this place so much and love the staff… but its not fair to pay a bit more and then not have a relaxing experience. Yes, they do nails well if I request specific people (Christina, Eileen, Joyce) and the massage is great (James and Mike, or anyone), but who wants screaming kids and people on cell phones there?
Also, tips are not accepted on credit cards and there’s an ATM inside. If you go later in the afternoon, they will try to do your hands and feet at the same time… and rush.
I continue to go there because I like the people and I can’t find a better place yet — it’s just a comfort thing, but it’s nothing like what it was before. If I went today, I wouldn’t recommend.

Very clean and lovely place. The girl who did my pedi was delightful and really good and really fast. I also got a 20 minute massage and it was soooooooo good. I was very happy w this place. 20 for a pedi. Ok price ;)

This place is a factory. And not a good one. I got a new Essie color «urban jungle» and the nail tech couldn’t even keep it on my nail bed. My manicure looks like a child did it.

Extremely overpriced for a so-​so experience. If you have money to spend on just getting your nails done and to get talked into massage, at 10 for 10 mins, or have your nails chip again in a day or 2 my suggestion would be to check this place out.

I have had pleasant and unpleasant experiences at this salon. The owner makes a lot of mistakes with the appointment schedule and often when you up denies you have an appointment. I once complained that I had to wait because a client showed up late for her appointment. The staff member got very annoyed because I complained about having to wait. In the past I gone there and was told that I was late and could not get service. This rule should apply to everyone!

This use to be my go to place in Oceanside and I definitely feel that the allure has died down and they are not as up to par with service as they used to be :/
First, everything is way overpriced! Yes they do a decent job and the big thing that attracted people is they have masseuses for when your getting both a mani and when your nails are drying. The past three times I went there tho this did not occur.
I also bought my own polish once and realized I had forgotten it, I went back in 5 minutes later and the person who did my nails gave me a hard time about giving it back! I also got the french gel manicure which is the most expensive there than any of the other places I have seen and it chipped within a few days, not kewl.
Overall with all of the numerous nail salons in that area, I think its better to try somewhere else.

I have gone few times to Capri, I am happy for them that they are doing so well but I am not a fan of how busy they are. It does not always feel spa like because there is a man yelling numbers at the front.
I will say that my gel manicure was good and girl was nice enough to put an extra coat on. I also enjoyed the free massage. I made the mistake of having a 10 minute add on massage in the chair and was not pleased with how rough the gentleman was. Overall the spa is pretty but noisy. The wait time is hit or miss and the «deli counter take a number system» is not very glam!
I would return for a quick polish but will save my needed spa days for a trip to an actual spa.

The place is beautiful inside. I’ll give it that. But that’s all I’m giving.
I had to ask my manicurist to file my nails three times. She left the sides SHARP. Like, I could have potentially hurt someone sharp.
And then, after all that, my manicure chipped in a day.
The group waiver sign that was hanging up for «Bridezillas» shooting in spring 2011 when I went in fall 2012 should have been my first and last clue. Your enthusiasm for a reality show shooting in your store a year ago should not surmount your customer reviews. And clearly it does or you would have checked your Unilocal reviews that all basically say the same thing, and changed some things around.

The free massages are awesome the mani/​pedis are overpriced and just OK.
For me, the manicure only lasts about 2 days… pedi maybe 10 days…
Sometimes I pay the extra $ when I want a mini massage, and sometimes I go to Crystal Nail on Mott street for a better (and cheaper) mani/​pedi

I love this place. It’s clean and there are usually 4 or 5 guys walking around whose only job is to give everyone shoulder massages while their nails dry and, if the salon isn’t too busy, also when they first sit down for a manicure. It is a little more expensive than other nail salons in the area, but the massages win me over :)

Although the the location is spacious and beautiful, this place is expensive and their manicures are just ok. Mine chipped pretty quickly and the woman next to me ask her manicurist to fix her nails several times. Maybe she was just picky but no one should have to ask more than once. One perk is that they have someone to give you a massage while your nails dry. No thanks. I’d rather get the $ 7 mani from the cheap place on the corner (you know what I’m talking about) since the quality is the same.
