We really were concerned as we were the only people in the restaurant but we had a wonderful dinner. One of us had a steak and the other I don’t remember but we each really enjoyed our food. The wine was pretty nice too.

First time here, and the service was great. The server was polite, abs caring. The food was also pretty good as well. Maybe pricey, but it was worth it.

Let me start by saying if i could give this place negative stars i would. The food is great and for the most part the waitresses are nice and actually try to help the customer, although the managers are a completely different story every time that I’ve stopped bye they are rude and really could care less if you came in at all. And on top of that they speak to you as if you’re some 4 year old kid. I know for the most part people go here so they don’t have to leave base but I recommend that you just take the extra time to go ANY where else but here.

I had a very disappointing experience. I called an order ahead for pick up just a simple salad. First off they told me my order would be done in 15 min. I came to pick it up 15 min later and waited an hour for a salad. You would think they would be apologetic or anything but they didn’t care. When I got home my salad was completely soggy and the chicken was non existent. A huge disappointment after waiting that long will not be giving my business to them again.

The food is alright, nothing special as its a cocos, but the main problem is the service is horrible and extremely slow whether you come in on a weekend day or mid week it takes forever for your food to come out, expect an hour or more wait for your food after you’ve already waited to be seated and taken the drink/food order.

Good service but there was a long black hair in my daughters food waitress took to back to be re made and just switched out the plate. Very gross. She also stated that no one in the kitchen had black hair. But neither do we. So I suppose it was a mystery black hair cooked inside her eggs. Yuck.

The service here was great! The waitress(Brenda) was very accommodating! It’s a nice diner feel, vey clean as well. Food was mediocre at best. I got the Parmesan crusted chicken which is prepared fresh!(That’s what I was told by the server) It looked great when it came out but looks were very deceiving. Chicken was dry and lacked the typical Parmesan flavor you would normally expect. And for $ 10.49 I expected more.

The Club 55 chef salad was tasty, plenty of excellent white basalmic dressing and warm fresh bread basket. The soup and sandwich with a salad combo was perfect! The mushroom veggie burger came on a whole grain bun and fresh fruit! Yum! ! We love this place. Servers are friendly and prompt too.

I’m in town for a few days and I don’t really know my way around the base, so I just decided to stop at the first place I saw. I was very impressed with this restaurant! Very friendly staff, and the food was delicious. I had the steak and eggs, and got a slice of apple pie to go. The pie was amazing! I would definitely recommend this place, and I’ll be sure to stop by again in the near future!

Based on Unilocal reviews I found our experience in no way in comparison with a majority of Unilocalers about this place. Menu — American Classics with their healthy take. I decided to go with the BBQ flat bread with chick App with a side fries, the wife decided to go with the grilled chicken and grilled veggies, and the baby had the Chicken Tender Kids Meal with fries. All food items where prepared with care and carried that classic American Diner feel(I understand that the franchise chain is not doing too well). I will say that each plate we ordered was packed with flavor as described in the menu. Costumer Service — superb and organized. Manager was even on the floor assisting when it got busy. Wait time — no complaints with the seating and meal delivery Facility — everything was well maintained seating and restrooms. Worth trying again? Maybe just for their pies, all of us enjoyed a slice of their coconut pie.

After the Cocos on Mission Gorge Rd and another one in my area closed, we decided to try this one on our way to Legoland. It was the worst Cocos, and probably worst breakfast dining experience I’ve ever had. After patiently waiting and looking at empty tables with my party of 5(myself, girlfriend, 5, 12 and 15 yr old sons) they seated a 4 person party ahead of us that arrived after we did. I asked the obviously rookie host what was going on and why they did that. He apologized and made some lame excuse about only having booths free. Hello, one of my kids is a scrawny 5 year old — anyone with common sense would realize you could fit 2 adults on one side of the booth and the adults on the other. He didn’t bother looking at who was in the party or asking if we were cool with a booth. The waitress was ok, could have checked in on us a little more considering how things started out. One of our orders was screwed up. At the end when I was paying the cashier she asked if everything was okay and I told her it wasn’t. The manager came over and I told her what happened and she took off one of the entrees. One of the older waitresses mentioned to me that Cocos had recently been bought by a new company and that things had gone downhill ever since. I felt bad for her having to continue working with incompetent people. For a restaurant, even a casual one that’s near 5 star La Jolla ones and upscale clientele, you’d figure they’d try a little harder. Guess not. Lesson learned — read some reviews here before trying your luck at a new location, even for a chain you used to love. I guess Omelette Factory and Broken Yolk just gained some new customers.

Food was good, service lacks. Kristina S was our waitress; myself and two conworkers(navy uniforms) all came in quick to grab orders and drop check. Re filled drinks once per asking and had to ask for silverware. Probably won’t come back here unless it’s a Togo order

I ordered a chicken cesar salad and the chicken was beyond stale. It was dark around the edges(old, probably reheated multiple times during the day) chicken. The staff is friendly but the quality of food is not there… I should have ordered a sandwich or something… Kind of bummed that I got super stale dry chicken. Looked like chicken treats that you give your dog to munch on…

This establishment is the type of place a Marine would go when they are put on restriction and tired of the shitty food at the chow hall only to realize now they have to pay for shitty food at this shit hole. Immediately getting here, our server was rude and rushed us(though the place wasn’t busy). Instead of asking us if we wanted desserts, which they are apparently known for, we got a lazy ass bitch putting a check on our table and walking away. Not once asked us how we are doing or anything, but asked others around us if they wanted anything. The food itself was what you typically gonna expect from these type of places. The server CLAIMED there house dressing was the same thing as ranch, to my disappointment it was just a little bowl of what looked and tasked like mayonnaise gone wrong. My husband has to salt and pepper his food because it was bland and had no taste to the chicken Cesar salad. I don’t even want to give this place one star because that’s just a little too generous. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. You would get better service at your local McDonald’s. I hope this place shuts down and they put a half decent restaurant up.

This place needs to hire someone who can actually cook meat. We’ve only eaten here three times for the past 18 months(because of distance convinience). Last time, they undercook our steak. We gave it back to be cook to medium. It came back well done. Last night we ordered $ 20 bone in rib-eye, and the meat came out super dry. Come on!!! How can you still messed up steak with bone-in. Overall, the experience was below standard. Service was friendly and fast. However, quality of food is not up to par. Not worth the price! Not recommended. This place need a major overhaul with their chef!

I barely want to give this one star. But, I guess I have to give something. Anyway, about the restaurant, it took between 5 – 10 minutes to be seated, and the place was mostly empty. We got seated at a dirty table, which we had to wipe ourselves. We ordered a couple of drinks and an appetizer. The drink glasses came out with chunks of fruit on them, and the appetizers only came out in 30 minutes! What a record! During our wait, the lobby started to fill with smoke, to which none of the employees or management seemed to care about. Also, the plates that came with the appetizers had hair on them. At least the waitress was nice.

After trying this restaurant several times, I realized the only thing consistent about it is the bad food and service. The last time we ate there was just recently just before Christmas. My husband ordered breakfast hash. It didn’t resemble or taste anything like I had ever seen or tasted. I ordered the caramel banana pancakes. The menu shows these luscious looking pancakes in a stack about 3 inches high. The pancakes I got were about 3inches in diameter and at best about ½ high. It bothers me that our service men get treated to food that is almost inedible but charged premium prices. There are two other Coco restaurants within 5miles of this one. Their food shows what Coco’s menus and food should be. This restaurant needs some serious help.

You would think that because it is at camp Pendleton the service would be perfect however it was not to my expectations. Boy was I wrong it was a total catastrophe. It was as if I was an inconvenience to them as if my money was no good. Sylvia was bothered because I requested to sit outside in case my new born started to cry. Apparently It was too long of a walk for her. Once we ordered our meal was burned and our sausage undercooked. Coffee was a disappointment. The staff is all upset as if having a job is a curse. Never coming here again. … One thing I still do not understand they have plenty of staff yet the patio in the restrooms are completely dirty and messy. It has been a long time since I have been this disgusted. Nonetheless I still paid for the meals and tipped the waitress.

Pretty simple dining; unfortunately with the quick dine in atmosphere you sacrifice the standard of excellent service and you put decent service in it’s place. Staff was quick to get you in and out and not very talkative; none the less the job was done anyways. Food was basic but filling and not to heavy on the wallet. Good family stop for lunch or breakfast. Highlights: 1.Quick and easy food, not heavy on the wallet. 2.Not much if any of a wait to be seated and can accommodate large groups

We came in for breakfast on Black Friday and it was busy. We sat in a booth towards the front of the restaurant. The service was horrible. We waited a long time to be serviced and for our food to come out. I ordered a veggie omelet, hash browns and a blueberry muffin. The meal was tasteless and bland. There were some missing items to our orders and we had to keep reminding our waitress. Furthermore, we sat in a booth next to a crying baby that continued to cry and cry and cry… Oh my… It was during the time when it was raining, and we noticed that there were leaks. BIG safety concern here as the water was leaking on the electric OPEN signage and over plugs by several families. REALLY?! Our waitress did mention that these concerns were reported, but the government hasn’t done anything to fix the facilities. How can this place even stay open with these concerns? So does someone need to get electrocuted for this issue to be corrected?
