El Camino Country Club

My family and I were invited here for a private event. The location was difficult for me to find since I am not from the area. It’s tucked behind the Quality Inn & Suites, right past the road that has signs that scream, «do not enter», «no right turn», «private property» etc. The upper level parking is reserved for the members only and the lower level is for the rest of us! Parking wasn’t very hard to find, luckily. The reception hall we had was very nice. There was room for buffet style accommodations and a server to pick up the dishes. The coffee was also served at dessert time. I was told the country club chef’d up the food and I must compliment the chef for the delicious BBQ chicken and their fudgy brownies! When I got a chance to walk around the grounds, the property is very well kept. The staff were all so very kind, lavatories were squeaky clean and the golf courses greener than the other side’s! I don’t know how the memberships go, as I was just one lucky Joe to experience the exclusive services the members do. The regular patrons looked happy so I guess they must be doing something right! ;)

I was a member at this Country Club for almost a year. I signed up for the membership after being told that there were no «month to month» memberships. 3 months after, they came out with a month to month membership. I had no complaints with the course, to their credit, they actually improved the course in a very short time, and it’s a beautiful course. About 2 months before my membership was up, I gave notice that I could no longer play golf there — my time just didn’t allow for it. I asked if they would waive the last two months, since they would not incur a single expense from me not being there. A few days ago, I got a call from a collections agency, saying that they had taken me to collections. I called ECCC and talked to Gary (nice guy) the club controller, and he just wanted my money. I paid the bill, and then sent an email just asking for clarification on why they couldn’t waive the last two payments, and got no response from either Gary or Cyndi (the membership coordinator). I’m a business owner, and in my opinion this is just bad business. There are times to hold someone accountable for an expense, and times when it’s just good business not to. I believe this was one of those times. At least return and email or phone call.

This place has been here for a long time. The course has gone through all sorts of transformations. I don’t golf, but I go for beers and hang with friends that think they can play. I don’t want to hurt the course with my play. It seems like it should be public, but I think it’s private. You can cruise in for a beer and put a little, it’s a cute place. Needs a makeover, kind of has that warm eighties feel. Staff is good, it’s not the Four Seasons people, so you get what you pay for. Some of the staff has been here since the sixties, really. I bet you could nab a nice wedding here for 100 people for around 5k. What do you expect. over all it’s a pretty solid place. Whoever does the grass does a great job. some of the green areas have four types of grass on them. Pretty wild. And yeah, to the girl that says it’s in peoples back yards, they pay big money for that. It’s desired to have your yard on the course. Henny Hills is a cool area to live in. Remember people when you do your review, this is an Oceanside course, not La Costa.

Had my wedding here in 2009 and it was perfect! Had About 120 Guests, had hot and cold Appetizers, beer, wine and well drinks For 2 Cocktail hours, 2 bottles Of Wine On each table, tall flower center pieces on each table, Chair Covers with shashes, and white glove service to our guests with a nice dinner for under 10,000 on a beautiful golf course. Everything flowed so smoothly. We didn’t have a wedding coordinator but we might as well have because the Banquet manager and grounds manager were present the whole time making sure everything went great. Not sure how the prices are now, but I’m sure this is still the best kept secret! I recommend people all the time!

Staff is very rude and put on fake smiles when I asked them about a parking situations in their lower parking lot the blonde old hag is the rudest of all their

Just held a baby shower for my sister here and it was beautiful! The venue is gorgeous and the event planning staff are extremely helpful and accomidating! Carmela Arstill went above and beyond to make our special event simply beautiful! Ray the bartender was very friendly and cool. The wait staff were also very friendly. What an amazing experience. I encourage anyone to select this country club for your next event. I know I will!

I just threw a bridal shower at the El Camino Country Club and I had a great experience. I was looking for a venue that was not too pricey, but would still serve a nice brunch for about 30 people, this club was perfect for my needs. The Event Director, Carmela, was incredibly easy to work with, and she gave me some really wonderful ideas. As I mentioned before, the price was very fair and it came with a full brunch, mimosas, coffee, and fruit. They also set the tables and helped me set up the decorations. The staff was really helpful and attentive, they made sure everything went as scheduled, and they were always available if I needed anything. Not to mention, I had an issue with an outside vendor I had used for the cake, and Carmela went above and beyond and contacted the vendor for me to find why the cake had not been delivered on time, she even followed up with me and the vendor to make sure I was taken care of. She did not have to do this, as this was not an El Camino Country Club employee, but she did. I couldn’t have asked for a better day! Thank you!

A happy marriage is a matter of giving and taking; the husband gives and the wife takes. Start the rest of your life off right at the El Camino Country Club, it’s a great place for an intimate wedding and reception.
— Gazebo with white chair setup, great for 50 or so.
— Greeting area perfect for apps before/​after reception.
— Dining area, a bit stuffed but good for smaller party.
— Beautiful golf course background.
— Catering was surprisingly good.
— Dressing area not far for bridal party.
While I haven’t played golf here, the wedding I attended was a hole-​in-​one without anything noticeably going wrong. We eased from the apps to the wedding then off to the reception. For dinner we ate some salmon, chicken, mash, carrot and asparagus which was quite tasty.
Overall I would recommend the El Camino Country Club to anyone not looking to spend a lot of cash and have an intimate wedding with friends.

I played golf here on Thursday for the first time. It was actually the first time I have played golf in about 20 years, so my review may not be that good. We went with someone who is a member our fee was $ 55 for 18 holes and a cart. I do not know if that is good or not, but it seems a little steep for a Thrusday morning tee time. But it is a private club, so I really have no idea.
The greens and fairways were pretty good. There were some soggy areas, but we have had some rain, so who knows.
Overall it was a good experience, but I’m not sure if I will got back. First I will not join the club, and since I am retired Marine I will probably just go on base and play for $ 22.

Love this course. private, but nice to have pal member friend. Greens are perfect and fast. Pretty straight forward.

The golf course is in really good shape and the greens are lightning fast and very difficult. The layout of the course is pretty good. No blind tee shots or funky holes. The staff seems nice and the food in the bar is just okay.

Attended a wedding here at RUDE ol’ HE-​EL Camino Country Club. ALL STAFF were insanely unpleasant and were giving off major attitude problems during the reception. I’m so glad I never have to come back here. GOLF COURSE located in the back of people’s yards :/​eww

This course looks like a pile so I figured it would be cheap, but it is private.

An 18-​hole Billy Bell designed California golf course. There are a lot of tournaments here and the course is hilly, so a good challenge.
