Great community college! Such a welcoming atmosphere on campus and all the faculty and staff are friendly and approachable. Loved being a student here.

Took my auto classes here. Typically male dominated field, but if guys can be nurses, then i can learn how to take care of my cars.
Its fun, and a change in scenery.
Seeing medication all day vs clearing your mind working on a car is a good way to get a break yet stay smart and use your mind.
Instructors are good and patient. Definitly dont waist your $$ on UTI or some for profit collage for this.
I recommend this for any one who just wants to start a new path or new hobby.
Its also a good way to learn new things

I love this school! I been going here for 3 years now, being my last semester and overall it is amazing. It offers great programs and services to help you succeed. Staff are very helpful and nice, library is a great spot to do homework along with the services it provides such as the writing center and tutoring. Sure will miss this school once I transfer! :)

Gorgeous ocean view excellent Art intruction. Clayton and Neemour some of my favorite figure drawing class instructors! Art changes me for the better… excellent odyssey!

Amazing instructors, definitely a great price for the quality of the instructors and the education you receive. The counselors are great and if your a Veteran then I highly recommend MiraCosta over the other local schools. They have an amazing Vet center and our own counselors and study areas and more. It’s great!

The whole faculty department really care a whole lot about their students. I was interested in applying at Mira Costa and just needed some information from the counseling office, a woman on the found was more than happy to help and gave me the information that I needed. Community colleges need people like her! God bless her soul. Lol

I currently go to MCC. It is a great community college, and everyone I know going to school here loves it.
Pros:
— Staff are really helpful and friendly: they will even text you reminders for appointments.
— Library is huge, and has tons of open computers and books. They also have several lab assistants around the computers to assist you if you need help.
— A wide array of resources. Miracosta offers so many resources to help students succeed such as free tutoring, study groups, and the career center. Best of all, they are all FREE!
— Class sizes are small, which means accessing your professors are easy.
— Professors here want you to succeed. Most of them care about your future, and some even teach at UCSD and Cal State San Marcos. I also heard that MCC paid the professors here higher than any Community College in the entire country.
Cons:
— Parking is really difficult at the Oceanside Campus, and requires a lot of patience if during peak hours of 8 am — 2 pm on Mondays thru Thursdays. I come here early to get a spot and to not deal with the drama, but is much far easier to find a spot as the semester progresses, and on Fridays.
— Cafeteria food is lackluster. I always wander around the cafeteria during lunch and usually can’t find anything decent to eat, and its somewhat expensive.
— It is very hard to get into certain classes as they fill up fast, especially if the professor has a good reputation on

Tip: If you become an Honors Student or are a DSPS Student, you get priority registration as long as you meet with a counselor.
— Social Life is non-​existent for the most part, and can become very depressing at times. At night, the campus is a ghost town.
I chose Miracosta over a couple Cal States i was accepted into, and I don’t regret this decision at all. If you have an academic plan, this is the best school to attend; If you are unsure, you will have a more difficult time catching up and will be very difficult to graduate within 2 years.

Great campus! Although parking is a «b word» on certain times of the day, usually early mornings from 8−930am. Friday’s are the easiest day to find parking.
The library includes tutors, rooms for studying, textbooks on reserve, a writing center, a math lab, tons of books and reference materials, computers and a friendly, helpful staff. It’s a two story building with lobby areas for when you need a break to no in between classes.
Campus cafeteria is probably one of the busiest places at miracosta. The food is average but on certain days they serve «specials of the day» items for breakfast/​lunch/​dinner. Tons of seating indoor and outdoors.
Just below the cafeteria I the bookstore where students can buy or rent course materials. Also, it’s a place where you can find school supplies too.
Admissions, Counseling and The Admissions office are all close to each other which convenient for students.
Miracosta has the most helpful staff of people who really care in supporting all of your education goals. They try there best to guide you in the right direction and give advice when needed. There are plenty of resources students can use to their advantage everyday.
If you are new in town and scoping out the community college scene in North County, I highly recommend Mira Costa.

Campus is fairly extensive with a nicer high school type feel. Immaculate grounds and beautiful native plant landscaping. Well marked buildings. Classrooms are outdated technology wise and some of the interior modifications for accommodating dry erase boards and projectors seem to have been done hastily/​sloppily. Maintenance staff ride around on golf carts very fast and have nearly run me over on two different occasions while walking around corners.
On the plus side, my classes are cheap and the instructors (and students) more talented and engaged than I expected. I think it is a great place for continuing education. They make a concerted effort to enroll locals, so their marketing is clearly working.
Cannot complain about my experience here so far.

I love this school. The quality of education and the variety of classes is superior to the other local community colleges. MiraCosta will always have a special place in my heart because it is the school where I first discovered my passion for dance. While, I was waiting to get into nursing school, MiraCosta’s dance classes drew my attention. I decided to a dance class «for fun» one semester and this one dance class turned into 5, 6, 7 dance classes which eventually turned into a dance major. I am currently one class away from getting my A.A. in dance at MiraCosta and will come back after nursing school to finish it.
Additionally, I took my nursing pre-​requisite classes here and I loved the caliber of the teachers and their willingness to help and their passion for teaching. MiraCosta is without a doubt the best school I have ever attended. There is something special about this school that makes it so beautiful that I actually wanted to go to school every morning! When I attended MiraCosta, I lived about 45 minutes away and had other community colleges near me but I chose MiraCosta because of how amazing the faculty and staff are!
I highly recommend this school!

Poor judgment of Hiring facility and letting students wear anything they want including cloths where their butt cheeks are hanging out or their tata: s and whoha’s showing. Such an awesome learning experience teaching out youth how to be in the professional world. This school is nothing but trash and holds no value of proper learning experience but rather favoritism.

I’ve been at mira costa for almost 3 years and I am SOOO comfortavle here. it is a beautiful campus that is almost alwaysss clean. the staff is very welcoming and helpful with the exception of some of the ladies in the front enrollment office haha. the counsellors are always on point and have your best interest at hand.
the teachers I have had are Legit hit or miss. it is VERY important to look up your teachers on rate my professor before you enroll so you don’t screw yourself!!!
the only negative part of this campus in particular is the parking. like come onnn mira costa there is practically more teacher parking than students!!! that’s ridiculous. so lesson learned after being here for years, GET TO CLASS EARLY or you will be looking for a spot for 30 minutes!

I can’t believe how amazing MiraCosta College is; the teachers actually care about your future! A key to success here is make sure you look at ratemyprofessor first because sometimes teachers aren’t as excited about their jobs than other teachers may be. This campus is close to the Carlsbad Mall which is expanding, along with other quick stops — so if you ever want lunch off campus it is not hard to find.
If you ever want to go to a community college — or any college — where your teachers still care and their is a good sense of community this is your place.
I have only been here for one semester but this school really cares about you and your future.

Unable to agree on a wine, my friend and I agreed that we should enroll in the «Sensory Analysis of Wine» class at Mira Costa College. I jumped at the chance to get smarter in something I enjoy drinking and hopefully through education figure out a varietal we could both enjoy together. Enrollment into Mira Costa College was easy breezy and all done online. The instructions and very concise description of the requirements minimized any confusion. My first impression of the Oceanside campus was how nice and expansive it is. Our class falls under the horticulture department so our class is basically in a lab. The class schedule worked perfectly– Friday evenings. The instructor is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. The curriculum as well as the homework is as expected for a legitimate science class with a little more writing (how cool would it have been to fulfill the basic science credit by taking a wine class in college). Discovering that with several more viticultural classes there is a certificate, I am inspired to continue.

The lady at the financial aid office upfront during the day is such a bitch! She never has a smile, she’s always cranky and moody. And this isn’t on one occasion. This is every single time I’ve been there as long as I went to this school.
She should be moved to the back or something because she gives this beautiful school a bad image.
Also. Parking here is horrid. Year round, any time of the day. You’d think it would get better once people drop later in the semester but there’s simply not enough spots and it can get very frustrating when you spend 20 minutes driving around here everyday.

Between the teachers and the staff, I have nothing but good things to say about Mira Costa College. It is a great community college and they will go out of their way to help you any way possible and the resources available to the students are truly extraordinary.
My professors have been nothing short of wonderful– they really do a great job in hiring teachers; every single one I’ve had has been great. (Professor McField was an inspiration and constantly strives to make sure students know their potential. This is refreshing.)
The campus is beautifully maintained; the
library is the perfect place to study, and they even keep books on «reserve» on the 2^nd floor that you can utilize anytime throughout the semester.
During an algebra class that I took, I spent several hours in the tutoring center where you go in, sit down at a table, and if you have a question you raise your hand and a math genius (students hired who work there) will be there immediately to help answer your questions and help explain the problem to you. This was absolutely wonderful, as math can be difficult for me. Needless to say, I aced my math class!
There are also workshops where you can go to get help editing papers you have written.
As a student who needs financial assistance, the resources on that end are impeccable as well. They pay for my classes and I just have to buy the books.
This University can’t be beat. They really go above and beyond for their students.

I didn’t expect this community college to have so many resources! I’ve heard so many good stories about my college compared to Palomar and a few other colleges in the area. So far, I love this place. The only problem I find is parking during the peak ours of 8 – 4. My classes are usually bottom of the hour so I have no problems parking. But, if your classes are top of the hour, goodluck finding parking!
Always use
to check if the prof in the class you’re enrolling to have awesome reviews. Just saying lol. I’m about to graduate with my AA in the summer so I’m happy about that. lol

MiraCosta is such a beautiful campus, outshining Palomar by a long shot. I attended right after high school for about a year and a half before taking a break and just recently re-​enrolling to finish my AA. The professors are across the board wonderful; I haven’t yet had a bad experience with a single one. My favorites would have to be Pat Connolly for criminal justice/​administration of justice, Dara Perales for English and Bradley Byrom for history. If you get in with any of these professors you’re sure to have a great semester.
The employees in counseling and other admin offices are helpful and friendly. The employees in the bookstore are a hit or miss, but mostly pleasant. The cafeteria, while almost always busy between classes, functions well and stays well-​stocked. As I mentioned before, the campus is maintained well and isn’t an eyesore to hang around on in between classes. There are lots of student activities during the week, a decent amount of parking and a great library. If you’re looking for a local community college, I highly recommend MiraCosta.

What an amazing school MCC is. It offers so many resources to make your time there worthwhile and enjoyable. Whether you need help academically or financially, MiraCosta has something (or many things) for you! Health concerns, MCC can assist you with those as well. If you have a young child that you’d like to put in preschool, by all means, MiraCosta’s Child Development Center is exceptional! (My son just completed his first semester at the CDC @ MCC and his experience was, for lack of better words, PERFECTION)
There is so much to experience at this JC, it’s almost a shame you’re really only supposed to spend 2 years there. With that being said, get involved in as much as you can, pour yourself entirely into this school and the outcome will be a 100% moved/​motivated/​enlightened/​compassionate student ready to transfer. The professors and all other staff are there for YOU! Enjoy the perks of a cheaper higher learning while you can!

I feel those courses are the most invigorating classes offered on campus. I can promise that you will leave each class session/​meeting feeling well-​informed and highly contributory to the human community
Rookie mistake: NOT researching financial aid when you’re in high school. LOOK THAT STUFF UP and you won’t have to pay a single penny for anything! MCC has your back!

Without incriminating myself I can’t even begin to write about how much fun I had here as a child. I grew up just 1 street behind the Eastside of the campus behind the gym and track. I would ride my bike here almost everyday. Running from campus cops was my forte. I only got caught once because I was dragging my little sister around that day.
Not only did I learn to drive a car in the open parking lots on the weekends, but I also played junior league basketball here from time to time. As a teen I would lounge in the open grass and do picnic dates. I knew the ins and outs.
As an adult I had dozens of my friends come here for JC while I went to Palomar for sports so I’m not expert on the education here, but I’ve seen quite a few transfers come out of here.
The campus is actually quite nice considering it’s in Oceanside. The hilltop views can be really beautiful at sunset. The theater department is quite good, while the library is only ok. In the years of gap I wasn’t playing here, visiting here I’ve seen major improvements throughout. Their evening classes are excellent if you just want a class to take and better yourself. It’s an amazing place to grow up around, but I fully appreciate it for its real purpose of higher education as well.
