Dr. Shad takes the time to understand complex issues and is very caring!

One particular staff member was very rude. I think his name was Kevin. He was unpleasant, bossy and made me feel uncomfortable. Dr. Shad seemed irritated by my questions and seemed to beat around the bush. It was definitely a rushed recovery. Overall bad experience and I am reconsidering getting another opinion elsewhere. I would recommend going elsewhere.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have had severe abdominal pain for about a week and really needed to see a doctor. When I tried to see a doctor here I was continuously put through to a different receptionist voice mail who never called me back. And when I called back trying to explain the seriousness of the situation they just cut me off and told me they do t handle new patients and I would have to leave another message. Aren’t doctors supposed to help people who need medical attention! WTF! If your the doctor and reed this do yourself a favor and call in as a new patient and see how unhelpful your staff is and fire that person!

Although Dr. Shad and the nurses were pleasant, the practice is run as if it were an assembly line. I had to wait an hour after my scheduled appointment time, and then I was given the bum’s rush out of the recovery room. As others have noted, the front office is awful. The receptionist, who could scarcely be bothered to answer my questions, never lost the unpleasant look on her face. I think that she must hate her job. In all my 65 years, I have never had such an experience.

Dr. Shad is a outstanding doctor! I wish more were like him… He has great insight, is thorough, and compassionate… What more could u want? He listens and looks at u when ur talking. He’s straightforward… It’s not always what I want to hear but what I need to hear… Any family members that have GI issues see him … They all love him! With the state of healthcare these days he is a breath of fresh air!

I had the unpleasant experience of having a colonoscopy, endoscopy and even had to swallow a camera pill to look for the cause of my anemia. No diagnosis was ever reached and I am still very anemic, years later. My experience was absolutely HORRIBLE with Dr. Krohl. I was NOT fully sedated/​asleep, was able to talk, and repeatedly told Dr. Krohl and the nurse that I was in pain and he ignored me and kept on with the procedure, removing polyps from my colon. I have a full memory of the procedure and the pain, which he ignored on my follow-​up exam as if I was making it up. It was such a traumatic and painful experience that I have not gone back for further diagnostics and am now severely anemic and afraid to proceed with further tests, let alone another colonoscopy. Stay away from Dr. Krohl. He is selfish and arrogant and has no regard for the comfort of his patient. The office is always hard to reach and they never return phone calls. The receptionists are rude and aloof. ESL

Dr. Shad is by far one of the finest and caring doctors in San Diego. I went to him very scared and uncomfortable about the unknown and right from the moment I met him, he showed compassion and a caring nature. Dr. Shad took his time and was in no rush. He explained what the procedure would be like and answered all of my concerns. I honestly can’t think of another doctor with the kindness he shows.

Can not continue to see the great doctors at this office because of the front office personnel. Very condescending, rude and patronizing. It is very unfortunate that no one cares in the office to get things organized and friendly.

What an ordeal just to schedule an appointment. I think they just play games with people. It takes days to get a person on the phone — then they wait till 5pm to call and tell you to call back next Monday. They NEVER answer — the phone is BUSY half the time and the other half is a ridiculously long voice mail that offers no help.
It took me over 10 days of playing «phone tag» and then the appointment was 6 weeks out and there was only one. When I checked with my ride, I found out she’s back in school by then so I had to cancel and now it will be another 2 months or more to schedule my colonoscopy. What lousy care — I wish I had a different insurance so I could go somewhere else. Absolutely DO NOT recommend this inconsiderate, lame office. Doctor seemed ok, staff is positively cold-​blooded.

Awesome doctor! He is kind and compassionate. And most of all, he takes the time to listen which is rare these days. He’s very intelligent and is great at following up. He calls you at home… what doctor does that? Totally awesome. I don’t know what Sandy is talking about… maybe she got the name wrong. Dr Shad is NOTHING like she describes. I highly recommend him.

My husband and I both had colonoscopies by Dr. Shad. We really like his calm bedside manner. My husband did not choose to have sedation and watched the procedure on the monitor. He was impressed with how Dr. Shad talked him through the entire procedure and let him know what he would be feeling each step of the way. I was happy to be sedated during my procedure and really appreciated the warm blanket and the kind bedside manner of the nurses. The only reason I won’t give 5 stars is because my procedure was started an hour late and the day of my husband’s procedure the office opened late and then no one answered the door for quite some time after ringing the back door for picking up the patient at the designated time.
