Libraries specializes in information. If you like information in books, we stock over 100,000 titles. Would you prefer information from computers hooked into the internet? We have plenty. If you’d like to bring your own, we have a 50MB connection dedicated for our WiFi users. We also have smart, friendly people ready and eager to find the answer to any question you care to ask — or give you a hand finding the answer yourself.

If you want a bit more hands-on learning experience, we offer classes. If you’d prefer to expand your mind through author, artist or academic lectures we do those here as well. If you’d rather just engage in community dialog vis à vis book clubs or users’ groups the library hosts those too. Or perhaps you’d like to attend an art events, a film screening, or one the concerts made possible by the Friends of the Library? We’d love to see you there.

Our mission is simple: to engage, inform, connect and inspire Oceanside. So stop by and tell us how we can make that happen for you.

In 1946, a new Library was built at 327 North Nevada which became the City Council Chambers and offices when the Library moved to the remodeled Safeway building in 1972.
