Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids

Took my step so here and he loved the atmosphere. The first stylist we had acted very knowledgeable and pretty much started chopping all this hair off. I had to step in and show her the photo example that I had. Another stylist had to end up stepping in to finish the haircut. The end result was a decent haircut but the anxiety was a bit too much for his first haircut. I would go back to the second stylist. They gave him a lollipop and a balloon at the end and were very sweet throughout the whole process.

Worth every penny! The kids are only little for so long. Spoil them with fun stuff like this. Save your sanity at the same time. We love Sharke’s!!!

Great place! Our son has gotten his hair cut here three times and we have been happy with each experience! Each of the stylists we have worked with have been gentle, kind, and professional.
We brought our son here for his first haircut a little after his first birthday. I was a little worried about how he would respond given that he was VERY squirmy when I attempted to cut his hair at home. Tammie did a great job with his haircut! I think everything was so novel for my son that he just sat in the Lightning McQueen car, watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and didn’t move a muscle. It also helped that it was first thing in the morning and my son was in a good mood. After his cut, my son got a lollipop, sticker, and a balloon.
The second time we came, we had a different stylist and, unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name. He was much squirmier this time and cried (although he was perfectly fine). The stylist did a great job of quickly but professionally getting through the cut despite my unnecessarily squirmy child.
We most recently came in a few days ago. We had Michelle and she was amazing. My son started to get squirmy and whiny a few minutes in. Michelle offered him a lollipop, with my consent, and he was fine the rest of the cut.
We have been very happy with Sharkey’s and will continue to come back. Their prices are reasonable, they are experienced with working with children, and have a facility that caters to children. They also offer a 10% military discount.

Michelle did an awesome job with my 21 month old son’s first haircut. He had longish curly hair and I was so worried how he would look with short hair. (Would the curls ever come back once they were snipped off? Gah!) But I needn’t have worried a bit. Michelle gave him a fantastic ‘do and he looks handsome as ever. His curls remained! The experience, and his cut, surpassed my expectations. Everyone was so kind and friendly and happy. What a great place for toddlers! We will be returning.

I’ve been in here a few times and its always been empty with people just standing around, no one waiting and no one in chairs but they’re «too busy» to take a break from doing nothing when they don’t have appointments.

Took my active 2yr old son here and it went well. He loved the race car chair and watching minions on the TV. The stylist did a great job keeping him happy, distracted, and gave a good cut.

I took my four year old daughter here she went in so nervous and came out with a huge smile. I booked her appt online. She got her haircut in the pink Barbie jeep. The wheels actually spin automatically. My daughter got her hair washed, cut, flowers and rainbow sparkles in her hair and to top it off her nails painted in not one but two colors. Melissa her haistylist was fantastic, she was incredible with my daughter. We will definitely be coming back!

Great haircut, ladies are always nice… just didn’t like hearing about the $ 18 dollar shortage 3 times that I think the owner was talking about and how all the girls would get their pay docked if the drawer was short again… I get the owners frustration but you need to have those conversations privately! I was uncomfortable and feeling bad for the employees…

We came here today for our sons 1^st haircut. Our stylist, Jen, was amazing! She was so gentle and patient with our squirmy little guy and she gave our son a great haircut! Thank you jen for making our sons 1^st haircut experience a great one! We will be back!

I took my son here for his first hair cut. My poor guy is going through the stranger danger/​separation anxiety stage and does not like it when people he doesn’t know messes with him. His stylist was Connie and she was absolutely amazing with him. He didn’t cry like I expected and she was very calm and patient with him. I highly recommend Sharkey’s cuts for kids!

Love this place the only place I take my son he has fun and I enjoy watching him enjoy his experience ms Connie in the Mini Cooper did a fantastic job my sons wild hair now looks so much better she also has light hands he didn’t even notice he was getting a cut her and her lollipop are a dream team thank u again guys it was fun

My wife took our normal looking 22-​month son for a straight forward buzz cut today at Sharkeys. She returned with either another child or what I think maybe a badly shaven monkey,
For the small child we love and know now looks slightly deranged due to his new hair style. From a distance, such as a mile, it’s an ok hair cut and to be fair he’s sort of familiar from the front but close up something seriously odd happened around the back of his head.
Now, I can appreciate cutting small kids hair takes skill and a lot effort. They cannot sit still for long and those who perform these tasks of endurance have my true respect.
However, I believe the hairline should start at the nape of the neck not a third of the way up the back of his head. It should also be reasonably straight and not at a severe 30 degree angle with a few chunks missing. Unless this is the style that hipster toddlers are now adopting that I am unaware of.
Either we do have a shaven monkey and we will simply have to wait for our son’s return, or if it is him he is going to need to wear a large hat for the next few weeks to stop people staring and looking at my wife in accusingly ‘how you could you do that to your child’ sort of way.
I’m sure we will look back on this hair cut and laugh. Until then we are buying a lot of hats and trying not to take him out in public too often. Hopefully by Christmas all will be resolved.

I have brought my son in several times for a haircut. The cuts are ok, but nothing outstanding. Today we came in with an appointment, and were treated SO rudely by the girl at the front desk (tall, chews gum loudly which is just plain tacky.) She was dismissive and used a snotty tone of voice with just about everyone in the salon. I am amazed that, for the price they charge for a child’s cut, they feel that they can be rude and expect people to return.

I was able to get an appointment right away. The lady who cut my son’s hair was very nice and professional. She did a great job and i will definitely book with her again (I’m glad her name is on the computer there b/​c I can’t remember it). My son loved that he got to play video games while getting his hair cut.
The only reason I take one star out is because the front desk was on the phone (possibly with her boss) and after several minutes did not place the call on hold to check us out, which would’ve taken less than a minute. Everyone was sweet, including the girl at the front, who apologized for the call.

Brought my daughter in for a haircut. She had trims before from other places but never had much cut off.
She decided to donate her virgin long hair, 13 inches later… she had great shoulder length hair that was super cute, and the woman also styled it, painted her nails, sprayed glitter in her hair, and gave her AND her little sister to tagged along to watch a balloon.
Excellent customer service, wonderful price! We will definitely be back for future cuts!

We took our one year old here for her first haircut and we are so happy with the results. Everyone is so friendly and booking the appointment is really easy because it’s online so you don’t have to wait for anyone to call you back.
She sat in a little Barbie jeep and they had a little TV and asked what she wanted to watch. They also gave her a ballon, which helped keep her occupied.
We got the first haircut package so they cut her hair, styled it (with a tiny ponytail and some flowers), and asked if she wanted glitter in her hair. Melissa was our stylist and she did a great job and was so patient. Definitely going back for her next haircut.

My husband found this gem of a kids salon. And to him I’m so grateful because, WOW they’re amazing.
Sharkeys transformed our sons mozart locks into clean cut handsome as well as soothed his anxiety (we have pics of him screaming at other places). I’m amazed and a forever fan of stylists that are able to work their magic craft with a picky mom nearby (me). Thank you everyone, you are a five star salon for kids!

So happy this place was recommended! The receptionist is very timely and personable. And the lady stylists were great. They stay calm and make it less stressful.
The pricing isn’t bad either. They have a nice little first haircut package!

I took my two year old for a haircut, imagine an overgrown mass of curls. Tammy at Sharkey’s did a great job, was patient with my daughter. My daughter did not cry once!

Took my 3 year old daughter here for 1^st cut! This place is amazing! Great stylist and so good with kids! The set up is so perfect and inviting for kids! The Barbie car chair was my fav along with the little girl party area! I would recommend making an appointment thankfully they fit us in because we came when they opened. I’ll definitely be a regular!!!
