The Image is Found

Nate and Jaclyn were really wonderful. We wanted our wedding to be fun, more than stuffy, and we wanted a photographer that would reflect that. The Image is Found TOTALLY did. Our photos really conveyed what we were looking for — they were unique and had a ton of energy.
Nate and Jaclyn were also easy to deal with. We had a couple of calls with them before the big day and they were very reassuring, even though we were kind of nervous. On the day they were AWESOME, the right level of checking in to make sure we were getting what we wanted without being intrusive. They were also just cool to hang out with, the kind of people you want at your wedding. Honestly, they’re; busy so sometimes it would take a couple of emails to get a response, but that’s it. I really can’t recommend them enough. If you want to avoid boring od wedding photos, The Image is Found is the place to go!

The fact that The Image Is Found has fewer that 5 stars is just BONKERS. This husband-​and-​wife team does amazing work (and by amazing, I mean 5 +++). They’ve been collaborating personally and professionally for a decade.
Capturing spontaneous moments, and not staged or unnatural ones, is their thang. Remember Olan Mills and Glamour Shots? So not them! Nope, they snap the magic without making you stand still and grin like cheeseballs.
They’ve done hundreds of weddings, from barns and haunted houses to museums and Italian landscapes, so they know how to work a room. (Can you guess which wedding locale was mine?) They also do portrait sessions and will travel to you.
They shoot in digital (and sometimes film), color and black-​and-​white. They use different distortion techniques that can tint, blur, or emphasize specific areas of pictures. (I’m sure there’s a fancy technical term for this, but I’m clueless as to what it is.) Also, images are «cleaned up,» which is perfect if you end up being a bride (like myself) who has acne on her wedding day. ;)
They have customizable packages, which can include engagement sessions (highly recommend, so you can get to know them and they can get to know you) and contemporary, sturdy-​enough-​to-​survive-​a-​flood albums. The one I ordered came in a cloth bag in a black preservation box. The album looks as new as it did four years ago!
They have funky, fresh ideas, such as the «crazy booth» (so much better than the traditional photo booth) and, now with their new studio, the «big white box.»
They attend photography conferences and share their know-​how with other photographers through their almost always sold-​out shoot shops.
So why are you not rushing to hire them? Is it because of that silly reviewer who gave them one star? Did she not sign a contract? I’m sure everything was made plain and clear on the penned pages, just as it was made clear for me.
After four years, the best thing about my wedding is still my album and the creative forces behind it.
OK, I take it back. First, my husband. A close second? My sturdy-​enough-​to-​survive-​a-​flood-​but-​not-​going-​to-​tempt-​it album. A work of art, to say the least.

Great photographers! My wife and I had them shoot our small wedding in Coronado and then follow us up to 2 more locations in San Diego… they came out beautiful and we were very happy with the experience before, during and the product afterwards.
They are pricey! But you get what you pay for and you can tell they take a lot of pride in their work.
Our album cover came discolored only a few months after the wedding, but after showing them what happened they were happy to let us pick out a new cover material and rebind us a new one!

Beware! They are heartless! They pretend to be really «hip» and caring about your special moments, that is… until something goes wrong.
My wedding was canceled and they show no sympathy for what happened. I get it, you don’t know me personally but can’t you at least fake some emotions?
I had already paid a few grands for the deposit, a few GRANDS! They aren’t cheap. They refuse to apply that deposit towards some casual photo shoots to be rendered on the same day and time the wedding would have been so I could at least salvage some of the monies spent.
Seriously, nobody ever wants to be in this position.
So many other options to capture your special moment. Don’t go here.

The Image is Found was one of the top choices for both my fiancé and I for our upcoming wedding in 2010. Nate and Jaclyn’s photos are absolutely gorgeous and looking at their images completely changed my mind on what wedding photography should be like. The images they produce are fun, thoughtful and always creative.
They are both very prompt in responding to any questions via email. Corresponding with them was always very easy — it was always professional without being overly formal. It definitely set a good tone for working together.
The prices for their various packages are reasonable for what you get. Unfortunately for my fiancé and I, once we included travel costs and various other considerations — having Nate and Jaclyn shoot our wedding just wasn’t in budget.
I would however, still recommend to consider them for your wedding. If they’re within budget and you like their shooting style, I believe that they are worth every penny. Check out their site and see for yourself:
