Oh my. These Lobstah Rolls are like WHOA. I had the honor and privilege to sample these devastatingly amazing sandwiches at my sister’s wedding. My dad decided to surprise my sister with the food trucks during her cocktail hour and it was a hit! In fact, it pretty much was the highlight of the wedding-​and the wedding was outstanding!!! The only thing I’m upset about is that I live 3 hours away and can’t devour these little packages of lobster heaven on the regular. I’m not kidding, I had like, 12 of these glorious rolls… do yourself a giant favor and STALK this truck! If you live in their area, I’m BEYOND jelly. But seriously-​damn good lobster rolls. Keep doing what you’re doing guys, bc you’re making the world a tastier place!!!

First time trying this out. Excellent choice for those seafood lovers that enjoy tasty and healthy food. Lobster roll, blue crab roll and the lobster busque are delicious!

Solid lobster roll at a really good price. The lobster always comes nice and cold inside of a warm bun and I have never been disappointed with my roll. The pickle that comes with a meal is also very good.
Minus one star because the lobster bisque is underwhelming. Very little lobster to speak of and it was bland for my liking.

Small amount of lobster, cut with a lot of fake, stringy krab. I’m from the North Shore of MA. First giveaway is that it was huge, but only $ 12. Huge lobster rolls at Woodmans or Neptune or even Kelleys, go for $ 20 — $ 30 — and that’s in MA. I love a bargain, but $ 12 for this item does not compute. It wasn’t dreadful, but to call it a lobster roll, to a New Englander, is like selling Red Sox jerseys with pinstripes. Call it a seafood roll, and be done with it.

Haven’t written a review in a while so when something sets me off like my most recent lobster roll I had to vent. Let me start off my staying that when it comes to lobster rolls I know what I am talking about. Do you remember on Seinfeld «the Summer of George»? Well, one summer for me was called «the summer of the best lobster roll» (actually it spread into two summers due to living in Florida and being in New England not as often as I wanted). I searched many restaurants in three states. My son had turned me onto the idea of trying Monsta Lobsta so when I saw that the truck was close to my location I had to get my «fix». I’m just going to lay it all out — the roll was very good but it went downhill from there. My intentions were to take a picture of my roll and sent the pic to my son who is a «roll» freak like I am just to make him jealous. Visually I decided against it as it didn’t resemble the typical lobster roll. Yes, there were the telltale red claw-​like pieces but something was wrong (not enough red and too many little stringy pieces). In a nutshell, I believe that there was very little real lobster meat in that roll ($ 12.00) and most of it was krab (yup, crab with a «K»), It appeared that the chunks of «lobsta» were perfectly formed and cut pieces of krab. The meat was quite salty. There was some green in it and maybe a touch of mayo and black pepper. All in all, I was and still am disappointed. I like the idea of a truck specializing in lobster rolls but it needs to be the real thing. I guess I will have to resort to Boston’s (the best one in Central Florida) or Bar Harbor Seafood Market. As for when I am in New England, I will always visit Crow’s Nest in Warwick, The Lodge in Lincoln, RI, Flo’s Clam Shack, Castle Hill in Newport, Bayside Grill in Buzzards Bay and Clam Shack in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Amazing food truck with awesome service. The blue crab roll is to die for as well as their lobster bisque. The owner of the truck and his employees are extremely friendly. This truck can be a little more pricier than others that are out there, but in return you’re getting great, fresh seafood in large portions. Definitely worth a stop when you see this truck.

We’ve been having food trucks come to Valencia for a couple of weeks now. Being that I’m a huge seafood fan I was extremely excited when I saw the email come across about this place.
Unfortunately maybe I just can’t afford food trucks as my lunch budget doesn’t allow me to go into double digits which limited me on choices.
I finally decided on the Spicy Lobster Bisque for $ 6.
The non-​spicy was only $ 5; but, I like spice. It was served in a container that could barely fit one scoop of ice cream. It couldn’t have been more than one ladle full of their spicy bisque.
He warned me to stir it up because all the spice was on the bottom. Well, it must have been on the bottom of the pot because I got no spice. What I did get was the taste of canned lobster bisque that I’ve had from the grocery store. It was void of any meat at all.
Judging by the reviews here I’m clearly in the minority — but, I expected more from this place.

My experience at the rally this year was mixed. It was not raining like last year, but seemed a lot smaller. Last year I got a regular lobster roll from this truck, and thought it alright. Shannon H. really wanted to try one, so I thought I’d try something new. I got the lobster roll smothered in bisque. I really enjoyed it. I like sauces, and I liked the richness of the bisque.

My first stop at Tampa’s «World Largest Food Truck Rally» (debatable title) was Monsta Lobsta. Last year, my boyfriend had a lobster roll from them, and I really wanted one this year. As luck would have it, it was one of the first food trucks as we entered the event. I was a bit deterred by the long line, but that also meant they must be pretty good. The dude in front of us in line said there was also a truck called Maine Thang, but the line was even longer. Plus, I knew what this food truck was all about.
The menu consists of a regular lobster roll, a roll smothered in lobster bisque, regular lobster bisque, crab, a spicy lobster roll, and a roll called «indecision» since it can be hard to choose between lobster and crab. It is a very real problem.
Back to the line wait, while waiting in line my boyfriend was able to get us waters, go get a taco, and look around a little bit. After placing my order it did not take long to get my food. I ordered the regular 4 oz. lobster roll, and my boyfriend tried the lobster roll smothered in lobster bisque. I enjoyed the roll, as there was no shortage of succulent lobster. The thing I like about the roll was that it was soft, but also had a slight char on the bottom with a slight taste of butter. Emilio M. enjoyed his roll with bisque, and the little bit that I tried was good. I would recommend starting off with the regular roll, because the smothered bisque roll can be a bit rich, and you do not taste the lobster as much.

My favorite food truck for lobster rolls! They are piled high with chunks of lobster, mayo, green onion, and other goodies. I tried another lobster truck last night because they weren’t at the Windermere food truck round up this month and left disappointed. Monsta Lobsta spoils me with the amount of food they give you and the price is the icing on the cake. Cant wait for them to come next month so I can try the lobster bisque!

Mouthwatering chunks of lobster meat kissed lightly with a bit of mayo and lemon seasoning then served on a warmed and buttered roll. Wow. It’s like I’m in the Maine… but surprisingly it’s right here in Central Florida. Every time I see this food truck I have to stop and get a lobster roll. Tonight I made a u-​turn when I drove by their food truck in Maitland. What a happy surprise to find them hanging out by Lake Lilly.
Besides the lobster roll Monsta Lobsta also sells crab rolls and lobster bisque. There is a roll on the menu called «indecision» which is half crab and half lobster, haven’t tried it yet but sounds wonderful. If you like lobster this is what you want, a roll busting at the seams with big, fresh pieces of lobster. It’s so decadent!

Monsta Lobsta, where have you been?! I usually enjoy these babies at Tasty Tuesdays, but I haven’t seen them in forever. I will have to seek them out for my next lobster roll craving.
I was skeptical at how good lobster as a sandwich could really be, until a few years back when I gave Monsta Lobsta a try. Toasted roll, lobster meat with a little lemon and some mayo, that’s all you need. So good!
One time they were out of the lobster roll, so I «settled» for a crab roll. Now it’s impossible to decide which I like more, so I have to bring a friend to order the one I don’t, so we can share. And by share, I mean I eat 85% of both rolls. With no guilt, because they are just that good.

One word. Amazing. As a Texan growing up in the middle of the state, I never had much of a chance to eat a lot of sea food until I moved to Florida, so I can’t compare. But as a food lover in general, this lobster roll was nothing but delicious.
I had the lobster roll ($ 12) and cup of lobster bisque ($ 5) because I was debating on getting the smothered roll ($ 15 — lobster roll smothered in bisque). I decided for a few dollars more I might as well get both and add on the bisque as I want it. It was one of the better decisions I’ve made in my life. Each bite was like heaven in my mouth. The lobster was cold, and on a buttered roll, I thought it would be better as a hot meal. But the warm bisque on the cold lobster complimented it very well and I have no complaints. The bisque was creamy and very rich. I would of preferred a few more chunks of lobster, but with strategic planning and cunning wit, what fell off of my roll landed in the bisque and all was right in the world once more.
I was very hesitant to try the lobster roll at first because I absolutely hate mayo. I hate it. But I grew balls of steel and decided to man up and just enjoy the lobster. I will say, IF there was mayo it was non existent and could not be tasted at all. One warning though, I saw this food truck a few months ago, and the lobster roll looked much more creamy, as if there was a ton of mayo in it (naturally I passed on eating there). So they have either changed their recipe, or the amount of mayo they add changes from time to time.
I love this place (assuming they go easy on the mayo). This is one of the food trucks I will gladly spend my hard earned money on any time I pass by. The staff was friendly, and the price is fair!

I had the lobster roll smothered in lobster bisque. Hot bisque plus cold lobster roll equals a lukewarm dish. Next time I’ll have them separately. Otherwise no complaints. I’ll happily try them again.

I opted for the «Smothered» ½ Lobster Roll at $ 8. Smothered in this case means it’s loaded down w/​the homemade lobster bisque!!! Be careful as it is very rich. The best thing about this item is probably the bisque. Smooth, thick w/​just enough lobster bits. The Sammy underneath was delish but the roll was a bit over toasted. If you can’t cut it w/​a fork… Also the roll contained about ¾ small claw meat. But if you put it all together you have a delish product at a reasonable price.
I love my Monsta Lobsta!

I love lobster rolls and was so excited to see an entire truck devoted to them. I ordered the half and half roll (half lobster, half crab). It was just okay and I was disappointed. This is the first lobster roll I have ever had where it was served cold (the bun only was toasted), and there was no buttery flavor. I would come again and ask for the entire thing warmed and extra butter!

Had the spicy lobster roll. It had pretty good overall flavor — could have been a little spicier for my taste. At $ 12 it is a bit pricey, but this is Florida and not New England.
I know these are supposed to be served cold but a hot option with some melted butter would be an upgrade in my my opinion. I would try them again if they return to the area.

Whenever the food truck bazaar stops by my neighborhood I have to drop by this place. Pricey. yes… but common it’s lobster. A LOT of lobster on a nicely toasted buttery slice of bread (also had it come on a roll before) Sometimes they have the option of adding lobster bisque on top as well! It was amazing with the bisque on top. Although, I remember the bisque being cold, would have been nice if it was semi-​hot.
Anyways, if you don’t mind dropping $ 10 — $ 15 on a lobster roll… DO IT!

I have to say, I feel like an idiot everytime I have to tell someone about this place. Say it out loud to yourself and tell me you still feel cool. Regardless, I still tell lots of peeps about this place because they make a darn good lobster roll.

Unbenkownst to me, I went halves with a buddy and he ordered the spicy lobster roll. Don’t you think this is something that should be discussed and agreed upon before ordering?! So do I. It WAS good, but i think a classic one would have been BETTER.
The Meh (or as I like to call it my ultimate dissapointing surprise):
They are cold lobster rolls with light mayo for dressing. Now I know some will say a true lobster roll is ALWAYS served cold, i don’t care. I’m not a traditionalist. I like my lobster rolls to be warm and all buttered up!
Maybe this is an option, but since I didn’t order it I didn’t have a chance to ask. If not,

Why have I waited so long to try you, Monsta Lobsta?! Oh MY!!! I got the 4oz roll and a cup of their Lobster Bisque… both were amazing. ($ 15 total)
Lobster Roll: Buttered and toasted New England split top, packed with chilled lobster salad. 99.8% Lobster meat, hint of lemon, mayo and scallions. I do not like mayo or scallions, so I was very happy that there were only a few scallion slices for me to pick out. Mayo was not discernible in look or taste, so perfect for me. Lobster was moist, sweet and fresh tasting… and there was a TON of it on my «4oz» roll. Better than some of the rolls I’ve enjoyed on the Cape or NE, for sure.
Bisque: Wow. Really very good. Lobstery and heavy on the heavy cream, so ultra rich. The portion size is perfect for the richness of the bisque. Hint of sherry, flecks of lobster meat throughout. A+
The guys were super friendly and fun to chat with while waiting at the window. I’m sad that I’m finished with lunch and cannot wait to visit Monsta Lobsta again!
