RusTeak Restaurant & Wine Bar

We have visited here twice now– the first time was off of a recommendation of some friends that we visited the restaurant with. The food wasn’t bad but not great and the service was just average. They told us it must have been an off night so we recently just decided to give it another try. Again, we left very disappointed.
Both times, the service wasn’t very attentive at all which was surprising as they weren’t that busy. The atmosphere of the place is quite nice and inviting. It was the best thing about our experience– the food was nothing to get excited about, we ordered steaks the first time and steak and a pasta dish the next and we wouldn’t consider them any better than one you’d get at a chain for half the price of what they are charging, and not any better service. I don’t mind paying a bit more for a meal if the food and experience warrant it, but RusTeak fell far short of the expectations you would have with the prices charged and from the reviews we’ve seen.

Food is always great, and they are always trying new combinations. Very interesting place, and each location is a little different.

We’ve been here several times now and it has gotten better every time. The last time though the deconstructed wedge with fillet was no longer on the menu but we asked for it and it was happily prepared (though next time I’ll ask for them to leave off the bacon. While I enjoy bacon it overpowers the amazing fillet. Happy hour wines are well priced with a nice selection. The addition of the ‘other side’ is welcome and makes the spot MUCH more comfortable. Beautiful semi-​private room is beautifully appointed. It’s ‘semi’ because the walls and door are glass and I think that’s a great idea to keep it airy and light. Just made plans to meet friends for HH tonight.

Best week night deal ever! Monday nights are half off a bottle wine! Enjoy some great wine and share some plates. I recommend the brussel sprouts and flat breads!

Great variety of dishes to choose from, with a forever changing menu. Happy hour is 5 to 7 with drink and appetizer specials. Staff is very accommodating with request.

Very disappointed in my visit tonight. I was so excited to try RusTeak but I had a very mixed experience. Service was good, good happy hour. I enjoyed my wine and my boyfriend got the pretzels and my friend the dip trio and we started off very happy. Then the entrees. I got the wild boar special and was very disappointed at how under done and fatty it was. Asparagus, mashed potatoes, sauce and scallops were all good but I had to send the boar back because it was inedible. Then they clearly microwaved the boar and replated what I had left on my plate. I would expect that from a generic chain but not a restaurant that takes pride in their farm to table quality product. I was expecting so much more. All my friends got burgers or sandwiches and were happy but I can get s quality burger many places around town, I expected so much more. Very disappointed.

Great service, great food! Nice local place that over-​achieves! One of my faves!

One of our very favorites. There are so many fantastic items on the menu, its hard to decide what to get. The nightly specials on Facebook make me want to scrap dinner plans and call for takeout! My meal always begins with a Moscow Mule. The pan roasted mussels are wonderful along with the bread to dip in the broth. It is a meal in itself. We’ve tried many of the sandwiches and all are delicious — the lobster roll, «Return of the Gouda» (chicken sandwich), & Turkadoo. Flatbreads are yummy too. The bistro fries are addicting. If you’ve had the fries at Nordstrom Café — these are almost identical but better, if that’s possible. The entrees are creative and again the nightly specials are always appealing. I like how they change their menu but sometimes I hope they don’t remove a favorite. The service is wonderful and managers float through the restaurant to check on patrons.

Love the staffs and services here. The old staffs I must said. New people still little slow. We used to seeing the same faces and people knows what we like. Still come for late happy, they need more items for late happy hour.

Rusteak is one of my favorite local spots. Recently expanded, it’s better than ever. They have easily one of the best happy hours around and an eclectic mix of cocktails and wine that guarantee a different experience every time. On our most recent visit, I had the cider jam chicken with squash risotto, and man, was it good. The main event here for me is the cronut dessert. Served warm with two scoops of vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce, it’s not to be missed.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a different poultry option from time to time, or even some different vegetarian choices. I’m not a big red meat fan, so I enjoy a bit of variety in a chicken dish! Since their menu changes from month to month, I often hope I’ll see something new in the white meat department.

I ate here recently after they expanded the restaurant which added another large dining room, a second bar, and a private dining area for special events. The food here is hands down some of the best in Orlando. I’ve never had a a bad meal here and the service is always impeccable. The have a good sized wine menu and a huge craft beer selection. I almost always order the chicken Gouda sandwich (so glad they finally brought it back!) and my favorite sides are the broccoli I and the sweet tater tots. Dining and eating on a budget? They also have a great happy hour menu with a few select apps, and discounted craft cocktails and wine. This place will be around for years, no doubt. I can’t wait to try their location near College Park!

Another great meal at Rusteak. Love the Rusteak burger. Also the 55^th Street. Ribs are delicious as well. Favorite appetizer are the pretzels with dipping sauce:) Don’t forget the Cronie! What an amazing desert.

This place is absolutely amazing! I always leave with a full and happy belly. The food is always freshly made. It’s a little pricey but for the food quality and service you’re getting, it’s worth every penny! I brought my sister here so she could see what all the rave was about and she fell in love. Last time I had the Greek salad and finished my whole plate. Today I wanted to try something new so I had the Blackened Mahi Tacos and enjoyed every bite! The Mahi tacos were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I’m always afraid to try fish tacos because of the fear they might have too much of a «fishy» taste, if you will, but these tacos were great! Can’t wait to come back and try something else on their menu. I have no doubt that every entrée they serve is of great quality.
One more thing, the restaurant itself is always clean when I come and the restrooms are always kept up. I love that because most restaurants forget about their restrooms and it’s just gross

RusTeak is quite possibly one of my favorite restaurants in West Orange. This is the original and predecessor to the location in College Park, and related to Teak Neighborhood Grill.
Most of what we’ve tried have been stellar, especially the specials. I have a soft spot for the summer risotto, or any of their risottos for that matter. And so if you prefer, you can ask to swap a side for it. They make their own salad dressings, and most are great, but I would recommend tasting them to ensure they are to your taste. A few of them do tend to be a bit on the stronger side (very tart, very berry-​licious, etc.).
The portions also tend to be generous, which makes it difficult to save room for dessert. But oh, you really should save room! We have not regretted any of our dessert indulgences here, including their very own version of the Cronut.
The location itself is quite small and can be quite cramped when busy. Reservations are highly recommended, even for a weekday dinner. We have been surprised with an hour wait on a random Wednesday evening. They do have a bar area, if that is your preference, but it will also be quite cramped. In addition, they have an outdoor area for when the weather is accommodating.
We bring out-​of-​towners here when they come to visit, and no one has been disappointed so far. =)

One of my fav lil spots. Good food and friendly service. I had the Lobster Roll this time for lunch. It was good but needed salt and pepper. My side was Brussels Sprouts. I always liked them as a kid and if Mom had made them like this my siblings would have liked them too — drizzled with a maple glaze. Portion was big — honestly, even if you like them you can eat only so many Brussels Sprouts. Worth a try. The Shrimp Fritters tasted great though appearance looked a bit burnt. Chicken and yellow rice soup was excellent.

The food is AMAZE-​BALLS ! Came here on a Friday evening. It was very busy, the wait time was about 10 minutes if you wanted to be seated inside. My friend and I wanted to be seated outside, and we were seated right away. Our waiter was very polite and helpful.
I ordered the shrimp fritters and the lobster roll. I felt like the lobster roll could have been seasoned more. But the shrimp fritters ! Omg amazing and perfectly seasoned. The tartar sauce and honey sauce was so good, i ate it with the bread from my lobster roll! I got a free glass of wine after we finished our meals.
Overall, I will be returning to this local gem ! I cant wait to try something new on the menu !

Best Burger spot in the Orlando area. Absolutely delicious. I know they have other stuff but man I can’t emphasize how good those burgers really are. I hope to come back soon but it’s a bit far from me.
Highly recommended.

I guess I am just to simple of a person for this one. It is worth a visit, but the family had to look hard to make selections. They have a broad menu with a touch of gourmet to each item.
Server was nice but slow and didn’t visit often. Won’t be our every Friday night spot, but if you haven’t tried it, it is worth it at least once.

I like RusTeak. A lot. I still like going for Happy Hour — the best hot pretzel appetizer around! But I have to say — I was so disappointed recently when I went and tried to order the hot Spinach Crab Dip. They don’t have it anymore. WHAT !!! One of my favorite things on the menu. Well, I am tragically disappointed but I thought I would just go ahead and order the Pig Burger. WHAT ??? They took THAT off the menu too! Their burger menu doesn’t appeal to me at all anymore (well, there is still the Rusteak Burger which I like, but there is definitely no longer that painful decision of which burger do I have to have tonight). Really, really disappointed. Came back another day and my son tried to order The Pig Burger. I think his exclamation of disappointment drew the attention of a neighboring bar patron… she lamented that one of her favorite items had recently been removed form the menu as well (it was either clams or mussels — I forget — I was too caught up in my own heartache) but the three of us had a conversation about how sometimes the owner doesn’t always know best — In Our Humble Opinions.
Like I said — I’ll keep going for Happy Hour, but it is no longer my vote for Best Burger or one of my Must Stop when nearby for a Burger Bar.
Sooooo disappointed!

Don’t mistake RusTeak for a bar and grill, a steak house or a sandwich shop. In truth it’s all of these but also much more. There is a gourmet twist to everything they do, from appetizers to sandwiches to burgers to entrees. You’ll find ingredients combined in creative (and successful) ways, served in a casual but cozy atmosphere.
I had a pastrami sandwich, which featured extremely tender and lean meat, perfectly toasted bread, and house made close slaw and half sour pickle. My companion’s steak sandwich was also good, although it required deconstruction to be eaten.
There is a shockingly good wine list, extensive and well-​conceived. It’s actually one of the best wine lists in town. I can’t imagine where they keep it all.
There’s also a great selection of interesting craft beers.
Service is friendly and efficient.
