Hello! I’m Kara, the owner of Kara Reese Photography. I’m a married 20-​something who first fell in love with photography in high school while I attended Kettle Moraine High in Wales. What started out as a fun summer hobby in the summer of 2009, taking senior pictures for my friends, quickly grew into a passion… And as I learned more about the business side of things, a full fledged career! I opened my first studio in Oconomowoc in the fall of 2011, and business has grown each year ever since. I was able to go full-​time with photography as a career in April of 2014, and I can’t imagine doing anything else now. I have some of the greatest clients in the world, and I absolutely love meeting the vibrant and beautiful families of Lake Country through my work. It’s an honor to be able to capture memories for everyday yet exceptional people. Kara is WONDERFUL. She has been a dear friend, our family photographer and co-​worker for years now. She is honest, loyal and takes incredible photographs. Her work stands for itself and her sweet, kind and fair approach to business makes her a dream to work with. A prior review states things like her being a thief and liar, and even says she is dangerous witch couldn’t be FURTHER from the truth. She has babysat my three children, and I trust her with my life. Do not believe anything negative anyone has to say about Kara, or her business, as there is not one ounce of truth to it.

After getting my senior pictures done with Kara Reese Photography, I will certainly never go to another photographer for future photography needs, and would recommend her to anyone looking to capture an important part of their life! Aside from the ridiculously gorgeous pictures I got, Kara could not have been more easy and joyful to work with. I had never really felt comfortable in front of a camera until working with Kara, who can make even the most awkward of people look (and feel!) like they’ve been modeling their whole life. I can’t give a high enough rating! Thanks Kara!

Update: last review was in 2012, update now in 2015. Kara has since photographed other incredibly memorable moments in my life, she has an uncanny ability to capture the most beautiful images. She took our maternity photos and even when we were shooting the photos & she’d show me a sneak peek of the back of the camera, I was floored at the lighting and beauty she captured (made me feel way prettier than I think I really am!) and those were the raw images! I was so happy with our maternity shoot, and can’t wait to see the pictures of our newborn boy!!! She is the BEST!
