I give a rating based on what’s expected vs what it is. I didn’t expect much, but Ron’s is quality comfort food for a great price. The staff is friendly and accommodating as well. I hate writing this review, as I told my husband for 3 years that we didn’t want to go there, only to find out I was wrong. I don’t like being wrong. We have had burgers, pork chops, fish fry, broasted chicken, and sides. All worth a second trip, if not a third. Can’t wait to try breakfast. Not looking forward to my husband’s «I told you so» looks.

The fish fry is one of our favorites… We are not the only ones that think so since the wait on Fridays is rarely less than 45 minutes. We go on Wednesdays now for the same fish with no wait. They also mix a great drink!

If you’re looking for a fish fry in the lake country area, look no further. Ron’s Cozy Corner has a great fish fry on Fridays. Granted, the wait is almost always in excess of 40 minutes for a table, but I think it’s worth the wait.

Very good food and good value. Servers are friendly. Not really«cozy»… they lost that when they moved to this location.

Ron’s has been a family favorite on Friday fish fry days! Fish fry is amazing and other food like burgers are also quite tasty. Definitely worth an hour wait for that Friday fish fry. Staff is super nice and very informative.

Friday Fish Fry was excellent! The cod was so flaky and tender it just fell apart in your hands.

Loyal crowd of regulars at the bar and on Friday for the fish fry can make for a fairly long wait if you’re not early. Nothing bad about Ron’s, just nothing special, so considering the vastly better choices around this becomes the choice for many because it’s close by and familiar. Clean, friendly, and courteous staff.

My boyfriend and I just left Ron’s after eating breakfast. The food was very good, but the service was terrible. Our waitress seemed like she did not want to be there, had an Attitude sort of tone. I have been here several other times and the service always seems to be bad, but of you can deal with it, it’s worth it for the food. Perhaps if they get better staff it would be more enjoyable, and we would come more often.

Went on a weekday, the food was mediocre at best. Maybe the fish fry is worth visiting for, but the food we had would not draw us back.

This was excellent fish fry, but you have to get there early on a Friday if you don’t want to wait. If you do have to wait, they have a large bar area with televisions and of course it’s smoke free. The rest of their menu is fairly standard, and if it’s anywhere near the quality of the fish, you’ll leave satisfied. Not only is the fish superb(the pieces are not too thick and actually stay together), but the german potato salad and the cole slaw are well above average, too.

Long wait after 5pm for the fish fry, but was worth it. 2 of the 3 bartenders were otherwise pre-occupied, 1 with carry outs, 1 with anybody who had breasts, wouldn’t look at you unless you had them. Thank God Paul was there to pick up the slack…

Rons has the best fish fry in the greater Milwaukee area! The newer location is much better than the old one. The breakfast is actually pretty good as well. We hightly recommend it!

Went for a Friday Fish Fry with my family. Got there around 6:30pm and had a 30 minute wait. Had a nice big bar with plenty of space and high-top tables to wait at in the meantime. The food was great! We ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and they were very good. They were hand-made and quite large. They had a nice crispy breading and you get 4 with each order. As for the meals, I had the perch dinner and I thought the fish and the fries were excellent. Both were crispy and didn’t feel greasy. It wasn’t all you can eat perch, but there were 6 to 7 pieces — so plenty to eat for $ 12.95! I’m not one for coleslaw or potato salad so I cannot comment on those. Another at my table ordered the seafood dinner which had cod, perch, scallops and shrimp. He said the perch was by far the best. Someone had also ordered a 9 in Deluxe Pizza. It looked and smelled great. It had a thin crust and heaping toppings including huge pieces of sausage. The overall menu looked fairly large and they had nightly specials. The place was busy, but the service was still pretty slow. I took off one star for how long it took to get our meals. I will be returning when I’m craving fish fry!

My wife and I were searching the web for places for a good fish fry, when we ran across Ron’s Cozy Corner. Now there are times when I’m in the mood for a healthy plate of baked fish, but that’s NOT a fish fry. A fish fry should consist of flaky fish enrobed in either a coating of crispy bread crumbs that almost snap as you break the crust, or a batter that tastes of happiness and combines a crunch and chew in equal proportions. If you want baked fish, do not go to Ron’s. If you want large portions of really tasty batter dipped cod, with enough leftovers to make a sandwich the next day, then you have found your restaurant! The décor is simple and has the feel of a comfortable Greek diner, kinda mixed with a bar. The wait staff is friendly and the service was efficient. We chose the family style cod. The first thing they brought was a bowl of coleslaw, German potato salad, and rye bread. The coleslaw was pleasant, the German potato salad was just average. The fry is what we came for, and it came on a platter heaped with fish and steak fries. The portions are generous and the fish was tasty. It satisfied the urge for fish fry, and I’d go back again. We got there at about 4:50 on Friday, and by the time we left at 5:40 there was a wait. I would recommend getting in early, then going for a walk to keep your heart pumping.

Ron’s has the best Friday fish fries in the area! Huge servings. Takeouts are just as good.
