Meadowmere Resort

Meadowmere is an awesome, family friendly resort that has things for the entire family. For the kiddos, there are G and PG rated movies every night, an indoor and outdoor pool, an indoor and outdoor hot tub, and a game room. For the adults, there is a relaxing sauna and spa, a workout room, and a Friday night check in wine and cheese tasting. If you are 14 or older, you can still enjoy the movies, pools, hot tubs, game room, sauna and spa, and workout room. The ambiance of the resort is very practical and modern yet includes a twist of the woodsy, Maine cabin style. It makes you feel like you are actually in Maine without the feel of a boring, old chain hotel. The interior design of the resort is very well done and the use of the space is consistently creative.

Stayed 2 nights here and took advantage of their Make Me a Chef package that came with a wonderful dinner at Bintliff’s and two 30min massages. The massages were our favorite part of the weekend followed up by the outdoor hot tub. It was HEAVENLY with the cool air. We loved it! Also had some yummy drinks at their pub and swam in the indoor pool. Our room had a super comfortable king bed with a toasty fireplace. We plan to return soon!

The fitness center could use some work. All the machines are a little worn, and out of the five treadmills, only three are fully functional for the last two seasons.

Love the amenities, especially the new pool deck. Would have been great to keep the kiddos in a separate pool and enforce it. They are kids so they’re loud and unaware of themselves and volume. The room was terrific. Majority of the staff was great & professional (except for the ones overnight who seemed to be cruising the internet researching piano music or something). Would have been nice for some eye contact and not left with the feeling that we pulled them from their large screen computers. Would have been a 5 rating if it wasn’t for the couple of negatives. All which can be fixed easily. Proximity to the beach is okay if you don’t mind carrying a few things about a mile or so. No biggie we did it. One day we parked at the beach and that was an added luxury but not necessary. We would visit again but might try staying closer to the beach.

Been coming here for years. Great place to stay. Prices are ok. Grounds, location and amenities are great. Very friendly staff. Rooms are quite nice.

We enjoyed our stay at Meadowmere, and would return. This is a family oriented hotel with swimming, movie theater and a game room.
Employees were friendly and helpful. The hotel goes the extra steps to provide a comfortable stay. They succeed at being an excellent «3 star» hotel.
Location is ok — 8 – 10 minute walk to downtown, 15 to the beach.
My only complaint is the wireless — it was nearly useless. This is unfortunate given the poor cellular (Verizon) coverage in Ogunquit.

Very professional staff and clean rooms. Plenty of parking, within walking distance of Perkins Cove and close to downtown/​restaurants. The complimentary breakfast had a good assortment of items and was fresh. The little patio for our room was such a nice surprise.

It’s a great place to stay. Tons of amenities, especially in the spring/​fall seasons where you can use a nice indoor roman spa or pool when the weather gets chilly. The gym is Fantastic, large with tons of work out equipment. If you don’t stay here you can use it for $ 15.00 per day. Gym also features locker rooms with steam room and dry sauna.
There is hot coffee ²⁴⁄₇ in the lobby which I was a fan of.
The only thing that sucked was the SUPER slow WIFI. Download speeds of like 0.42 mbps !!! I had to use my company phones hot spot it was faster on LTE!!! They need to look at their WIFI, and get it fixed. Or it could be time warner issue too.
But other than that book a room here, 5 minute walk to town, large resort with great staff an amenities. I’m out.

Clean and great customer service. Really had a great time at the Pub on Sat. Nite. Def will go back.

Stayed here for the first time over New Years Eve. Given the limited lodging options in Ogunquit for the NYE holiday, it seemed like a good option on paper.
Overall, I have to say the experience was very MEH. Definitely overpriced imho.
The Good:
They have a lot of amenities on site — pool, hot tub, bar/​pub, gym, that sort of thing.
The Bad:
Extremely limited parking. Small, tight spaces. Extremely difficult to pull in/​out of. And god forbid somebody didn’t take their time to park properly. A vehicle «on the line» basically means the space next to it is too small to utilize. And by 10pm, basically all spaces have been occupied and there is literally NO WHERE to park your vehicle?!
Noisy! This hotel attracts a lot of families with children. During my stay, I had to endure kids running up and down the hallways «playing» trying to keep themselves occupied. It made for a lot of loud stomping sounds/​yelling and general loud noises on an ongoing basis. Also, the rooms wrap around the outside hot tub in a «U» shape. The hot tub seems to attract a lot of kids who, again, are running around and screaming. If screaming kids are «your thing,» you probably won’t even notice. But I booked this room hoping for a «quiet, romantic weekend.» Soooooo did not get that at Meadowmere!
Overpriced. I travel a lot, and I stay at a lot of hotels — typically on the high-​end scale. The nearly $ 300/​night room rate didnt shake me, but to be honest, it was a little overpriced based upon what you got. Other comments in regard to the room quality seem to be on-​point with what I found.
Hotel loves to charge you for everything. Lots and lots of «hidden» charges to be had a Meadowmere. For example, they expect travelers to have only a single vehicle in the party. Have 2 cars? That’s a $ 25/​day parking fee «for their inconvenience.» Also, the hotel charges $ 100/​day as a «just in case» amenities charge. I suspect this has more to do with a «security fee’ in case you trash the hotel versus «to cover any incidentals during your stay, like ordering room service.» In my opinion, CHARGE at the time of said service. Having an additional $ 300 tacked on my bill for «just in case» purposes, and then having to wait 10 business days for it to fall off my bank statement, is just plain annoying. Also, they hotel heftily penalizes guests who attempt to use a Debit Card to pay for their room. In short, Meadowmere came across like it was looking for every opportunity to add more fees onto your hotel stay for whatever reason.
Hotel staff. Might have been the time of year, but I found the front desk help to be on the «snotty and annoyed» side of things.
In conclusion, my stay here was fair at best. It is extremely unlikely I will ever return here. Once was enough.

Stayed here three years ago. Seemed like they have alot of regulars. It was an okay place. I remember it being tricky finding the room. The dining area was ok. It was located down the street from a GORGEOUS walkway called Marginal Way! And close to a great, busy lobster house.

The good:
Friendly people (housekeepers, staff on property, guests), nice indoor pool, decent free breakfast, comfortable bed, convenient to everything.
The not so good: Very limited parking, some nights no spots at all.
Tiny bathroom with sink in the main room… You can barely turn around let alone get dressed in the bathroom so if you are staying with someone you are not close with, be prepared to get close! Mold in shower. Old dirty towels.
No electric outlets. Everything in the room was hooked up to one power surge outlet… so bring an extension cord if you need to plug in medical devices, etc.
Weird noises in the walls… perhaps poor plumbing?
Overall, we enjoyed our time in Maine but for what we got this seemed a little overpriced.
While not this resorts fault, the trolley hardly stopped here and we spent more time waiting on the bench then we would have liked. Also, the front desk was not helpful when we inquired about other options to get to the beach. Later we learned about a buggy service who told us the front desk should have her business cards at the desk for guests!

The breakfast consisted of cold items and no hot except oatmeal. The internet never really connected. Poor signal. Mold in my shower. VERY OVER PRICED HOTEL

Our son’s wedding celebration was on June 21, 2014. 90% of the guests stayed here! Everything was perfect. The only draw back was the bar closes at 11pm and we needed a place to have a post wedding drink and pizza. We used the bar in the admiral inn across the street. This was great. The bar tender allowed us to use tokens for our guests and we brought pizza in from kennebunk Maine … Wonderful all around!

This was our first time traveling to Maine so we were looking for a nicely priced hotel with amenities for everyone. The rooms were nicely appointed, (small bathrooms). Within walking distance of the cliffs and close to town. One glitch was a large, $ 60 per night, hold on my credit card for any possible room charges, this was a slight shock and not clearly stated in the confirmation. The staff is unapologetic about any issues you try to address and management is nowhere to be found. Also the staff seem to have little knowledge of the surrounding areas and things to do. I won’t stay here again, to many other choices.

This was the shortest hotel stay ever… A very long 4 hours. This is NOT a toddler friendly lodging option and Ogunquit during the winter is dead… don’t go if you expect shops or restaurants open. Maybe better for ages 4 and older. The family suite is much too small for a pack and play. Unless you want it in «parents room»…Never mind the toddler inflatable bed. There are two small rooms within the suite with beds jammed in both rooms. No sofa or sitting area to entertain small ones with a few toys. Just beds and small dressers. You might be able to move furniture around but not the point of a relaxing stay. We’ve have stayed in suites several times at hotel chains with our gear and no issues but this one was very tiny.
There were numerous exposed outlets (when I travel on business I cant find one!) and a hotel room door that unlocks and opens when pulling down door handle. Both kids were fascinated with exposed plugs and opening door and jetting down hall.
The pool our primary goal for our overnight trip was a tad too cold… Chattering blue lips after 20 minutes. Plus old folks not using pool were «partying it up» with cards, beer and wine at tables in pool room leaving door to outside open to cool off the room… brrrrrr! Think it may have been intentional as they were giving us death stares… Hey kids are excited to be in pool… My 1 year olds first time. So we went back to our tiny room. It wasn’t that much fun as we had hoped. More stressful than anything for us.
With nothing on site open for lunch and few restaurants open for lunch in the town (that is another story). With 2 hours till dinner (not driving around for that food quest) and no place for the kids to read books or play with a few toys we brought. We opted to head home… It wasn’t the family friendly «resort» we had heard about. In general… If you are looking for frills or a real resort like atmosphere this is not it.

Don’t let the gorgeous landscaping fool you — this place sucks. Have stayed here twice and will not make the same mistake again. See pictures that show the wallpaper peeling off walls, insects coming out of recessed lighting, marks on walls and ceilings, crappy old shower head, shoddy craftsmanship, etc. For $ 260/​night, they should not get away with providing such a ‘budget’ experience. Upon checkout, they don’t even ask how your stay was — probably afraid to ask. Such a letdown.

We stayed here for a few nights over our anniversary in June and loved the trip! The hotel staff was especially helpful in setting up some in-​room surprises and everything went perfectly. The rooms are perfectly appointed with everything you might need, and it’s really nice to have a private patio on every room! Everything is very clean and the staff is truly great!
The outdoor pool is gorgeous and the hot tub (and all it’s lobsters!) are a great way to relax. The free breakfast is a nice spread (the donuts are SO GOOD!) and the bar staff in the pub are friendly and quick to serve you great drinks.
If you’re looking for a nice place to stay, don’t hesitate to book here!

First impression: Nice landscaping. You can tell it’s been meticulously cared for. It’s also pretty cool that it’s one of the few «green» hotels in the area, if that’s your thing. Found this place via the official Maine website for tourism and were dazzled by its «modern» website and photos. We arrived on a Monday, after spending the weekend in Bar Harbor.
This place was so not what we expected! Where do I start with the monstrosities?
1) We get to the front desk and even before seeing the receptionists, we’re assaulted by the overwhelming wafts of potpourri and jungle of fake flowers. Should’ve seen that as a sign! The receptionist tells us to go find the «red lot» where our lodging should be… which leads me to #2.
2) The layout of the property is very awkward; it’s in a E-​formation. Most importantly, there are no signs on the buildings indicating which they are for lodging. We spent 10 freaking minutes trudging around in the drizzling rain, trying to find the right building. We even asked the gardeners outside for help (why they were out gardening in the rain, I don’t know) and they didn’t know either (clarification: they didn’t know which buildings were which, not why they were out in the rain!).
3) We go back to the receptionists and ask them for help. One receptionist becomes haughty and points over next door. Our room was in the SAME building as the front desk! Why the heck did she tell us to go back out to the lot in the first place?
4) Okay, room found. Hmm, where’s the elevators? Oh, wait a minute, THERE ARE NO ELEVATORS! Alright, I’m a twenty-​something woman who should be able to lift a suitcase up and down 2 – 3 flights of stairs. I can deal with the extra exercise. But I felt really bad for those seniors huffing and puffing and holding up the line down the hall on check-​out day.
5) Cheetah print carpet AND Victorian print bedspreads AND striped wallpaper ALL AT ONE TIME, EVERYWHERE!!! Though TLC makeover shows tell me that as long as they’re in the same color family, it should be okay. That’s what I told myself as I rocked in a corner.
6) No electric outlets. Or at least in our room. Everything in the room was hooked up to one power surge outlet— the fridge, the lights, the TV. I couldn’t charge my phone in fear of causing a brown out.
The only redeeming thing out of that stay was the brand new jacuzzi. At least it made bubbles.

Husband and I spent our one year anniversary at Meadowmere. We had a really nice jacuzzi suite on the top floor. We went to the Roman bath once, that was very nice. Staff was incredibly nice. Place is walking distance to the center of town and to the beach.
Now the cons: no free breakfast in the off-season…not cool, if you really can’t give breakfast, at least provide a voucher for a place that can! Also, we were kinda bummed that they didn’t do anything for our anniversary. Not that we expected it, but it definitely would have been a nice touch (especially since they place was pretty empty on the Wed and Thurs that we were there).
