Rooted in the provocative expressions of time and space, the current work of Ashley Childs embodies the mediums of gold and silver metals in mesh, chain and sculptural jewelry. Each collection is inspired by the tactility of the material and an obsession with its transformation. Her jewelry is consistently featured in blogs and worn by artists and eccentric women. Always engaged in esoteric conversation, she is inspired by friends like Patti Fox and Jim Hubbell. You can find her collections in galleries and boutiques nationwide.

Ashley Childs has been featured in a number of group shows across the country featuring her chain work and casting process. Her work embodies a kinesthetic process resulting in tangible evidence which encompass her personal opus. Currently her studio work takes on light metal casting in gold, silver and bronze. These kinetic sculptural forms emphasize a sensual, sculptural look, exuding both strength and delicacy in their composition.

Ashley Childs trained at the esteemed The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Alan Revere’s Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco, and was notably mentored by Ellie Thompson (Spectrum Award Winner). Her studio is located in Los Angeles, California.

As a native of San Diego, Ashley Childs’ pieces take on a similar influence of the environment prevalent in San Diego’s beautiful coastline surf, waves and sunny, Southern California texture.
