HELP of Ojai

I had a similar experience as «Blond A» but backwards. I went in to the Ojai Ave. location to donate a number of very nice items. The woman in front was very sweet and told me to go to the back and tell the person back there I was dropping off. I did that, and the woman I spoke to, (whose name I did not get so I don’t know if it was Donna, or someone else), was angry and annoyed that I had brought the donation to the Ojai Ave. location. I had no idea there was more than one location, I had only been living in Ojai for a year and it was my first time donating there. I apologized to the woman and asked if she could direct me to the second location. The woman continued to be quite rude to me and told me in an angry tone where the drop off location was, and then told me that location wasn’t open. She then asked me what I had — I told her, and she angrily said she“d take the donation this time but that next time I better take it to the Baldwin Road location.
As I walked out to my car to get the stuff, I almost decided to donate the items to another charity instead. But, in the end I did donate the items to Help of Ojai.
But, what kind of person acts like that to someone who is giving a donation? It would have been fine for her to explain the mistake I made in a calm and polite way, but instead she chose to be nasty and rude .
I won’t be donating any items to them again anytime soon. There are far too many places that need donations, who do wonderful work, and who also have professional and polite volunteers.

I usually really like this thrift store with all the sweet elderly people who work there and the best selection and prices in town as far as thrift stores go but I went there today to return a vacuum cleaner that didn’t work too well… I was told before I bought it that I could return it within a week. The sit-​in supervisor Donna acted like I was a criminal! … She asked how much it was and I told her $ 8… She said to tell the lady up front and she would write me one… When I pulled out the receipt the lady at the front said it was probably the $ 12.50 one on my receipt. I said it was the $ 7.50 item. Then I had to go back to Donna… She gave me a look and said I said it was $ 8. Come on, I rounded up. It’s not like I’m going to try to cheat a thrift store! If anything, the lady at the front was going to return it for more money and I told her the right price! They get their stuff for free anyway! Total, it took 15 minutes for Donna to get her stuff straight and write me a credit slip. I would not recommend buying any sort of electrical stuff there unless you can try it in the store.
