The place is packed during weekends. We were there yesterday and it was very very hot inside. The lines were very slow. There were 2 or 3 folks working but it took over 20 minutes just to order regular coffee. Location is good and plenty of parking on the side. Nothing exceptional to talk about the flavor.

They made my drink wrong with the wrong temperature and wrong milk(drink was not iced). When I told the lady what I ordered she had the nerve to tell me «do want this iced or not because I have a line…» well I understand you have a line but I waited patiently as well and should be served what I actually ordered and paid for. This type of attitude upset me because it was a bit uncalled for. The latte was very syrupy and sweet couldn’t taste any coffee.

Stopped in to grab a cup of coffee while walking around in Ojai and had the pleasure of enjoying a very nice latte. The service was very friendly(and efficient). Their baked goods also looked good, though I didn’t try any on this trip, and their menu(and the food I ogled other people eating) looked good as well. Ambiance is cozy. I would have gotten another cup of coffee another time, but the line was too long(for good reason, but I just wasn’t in the mood to wait). Would really like to try their food another time…

Stopped here on our road trip. While the employee working the cash register was friendly, service was very slow. They failed to tell me about how they were out of a syrup for my drink until after it was made and served to me. They have quite a few tables inside if you are looking for a place to sit down and enjoy a drink or snack.

Really disappointed. My cappuccino was not made properly or the beans were not roasted correctly. It tasted like too much water was poured through the espresso giving the coffee a watery and burned taste. Also, the proportions of espresso to milk to foam were very off. Why baristas feel it necessary to make a cappuccino with so much milk and essentially serve a latte is beyond me. My husband had a regular brew which was mediocre at best. We also had a bagel and a lemon square, which was extremely tasty. If it wasn’t for the lemon square we would have given the rating 2 stars. Contrary to what other reviewers stated, our service was fine.

If you are going to spend the time to roast the bean, the quality and preparation of the drinks should be much better.

Somehow we always look around the coffee options in Ojai and end up back at Ojai Coffee Roasting Company again… they have the best selection of sandwiches and cakes and they roast their own coffee/sell their own beans. Plus we always get friendly service. So, we went in for coffee on Saturday to be met with 2 huge sheet cakes and a warm welcome from the owner — she was offering free cake to her customers for their support during 20 years in the business! We managed to grab a seat and some granola/quiche and she brought over 2 huge servings of lemon and chocolate cakes — YUM! Then a local band walked in and sat down and started to play great music, locals poured in to mix with the tourists and day visitors, including 2 gals on horseback who asked a punter to hold the reins while they ordered. It was an amazing atmosphere and the owner fed everyone cake, tidied up, bussed tables, took orders and greeted everyone. One woman wonder! The gals sat outside while their horses watched the band through the window, and we sat watching them watching the band… lol. We bought a pound of coffee before we left and couldn’t decide between a couple so the owner blended them together to create a unique coffee, just for us! This is obviously a great coffee hang out which has strong local support. We visit every time we are in Ojai. We will definitely be back :)

Just okay. They were super busy but it just seemed rushed. My cappuccino was given to me over flowing and it was too hot to drink for almost a half hour. It was also over priced.

The vanilla latte and iced macchiato was really good…(but don’t order an «iced macchiato» because they’ll ask if you want a Starbucks drink). The employee was snobby because I didn’t know the«coffee lingo.»

I come up to Ojai once a month to clear my head. Ojai Coffee Roasting is my first stop when I arrive AND when I wake up the next morning. A wonderful ambience of locals. Feels like a cozy living room. And the recent slight redecoration makes this place that much more comfy. Yes, I said Comfy. The owner is a doll, the coffee is excellent and the croissants are to die for. XO JK

Great coffee and great service. They roast their own beans, the only coffee shop in town that does — which is spectacular. The staff are nice and polite and the coffee is good. Can’t ask for much more. Oh, great location too.

Ojai Coffee & Roasting was a pleasant experience! Had a cappuccino and it was just the way I love it not too hot with a thick foam! And the Granny Smith tart was ravissant. I also had a bite to eat. Tasty.

This place was open nice and early, which was great since I had an early start to the morning. We were road tripping from SF to Las Vegas and decided to stay the night in Ojai(such a beautiful place!). The drinks were great, customer service was friendly enough for 6 am on a Monday.

Great friendly atmosphere– the interior was recently redone giving the place a fresh clean feeling. Coffee and tea is excellent– this is my first choice in town for my favorite coffee. Their drinks don’t have the syrupy, artificial taste that some places acquire. Food is fresh and tasty, overall prices are fair.

Worst cold brew coffee… not sure if they know what cold brew is but I will tell you it isn’t what they serve!

The coffee is ok, but the service here sucks. They got several drinks in our order wrong and told us we were wrong, and serviced several other customers who came in after us before we got our drinks. :/

I don’t see any reason why the price of a regular café latte was ultra expensive. Even if it’s local and organic, it doesn’t make any sense. Barista was kind to ask my preference on what kind of milk do I want in my coffee. Rustic interior. Laid-back spot to read your morning paper.

Delicious! A little expensive but I just can’t get enough of the speciality coffee almond joy. Medium coffees have 3 shots in them so I always grab some when I’m done hiking in Ojai now. The pasteries are great also — definetely make the spot if you are in the area!

Not sure what the others are raving about. This place is definitely ‘just okay,’ and way over priced. They charged me $ 7.50 for a large(very heavily) iced chai latte with only one shot of Espresso. The atmosphere is loud and uninspired, and there is a weird flow to the place. There is a lot of potential for this place to be awesome, but they definitely need to make some improvements. As an Ojai resident I definitely recommend Bohemia, Full of Beans, or Coffee connection over Ojai Roasting.

This is a medium sized coffee shop on the main street of Ojai. My favorite part about this shop is its pastries. I went in this morning for a hot chocolate before work, and almost could not decide what treat to get. I restrained myself from ordering four or five different things, and only got two. Today I tried their Oreo cookie brownie thing and an everything bar. They were both fantastic; very sweet and bold. I think powerful would be an accurate descriptor. They also had lemon bars and a giant fruit cream cheese bar thing and something that looked like a Carmel turtle bar. Their croissants and bear claws were giant. The hot chocolate I got was quite good. It was served in a cup without a lid, which meant I had to drink some before I got into my car. Luckily, it was not too hot to do that. Service today was friendly and professional. Bottom line, if you like really good sweet pastries, this coffee house is for you.
