Came here for a birthday dinner. The Brussels sprouts are pretty delicious — can’t really go wrong — they are fried. Bread is served with, thank God, room temperature butter! The scallops were fantastic and the dessert, lemon Meyer cake, was a perfect ending. The ambiance is simple, but intimate. The waitstaff were all friendly, accommodating, and attentive.

Not that great for what you pay. $ 19 burger medium with no pink in it whatsoever. Normally never hate a burger but this was not good. Sauce did not fit with the burger. If you are going here to pay for view then it’s a great place but food really did kind of suck. Too bad for a 5 star hotel because nothing there should be this bad but they are surely capitalizing on the rich clientele that don’t want to go to town for dinner.

After a relaxing dip in the pixie pool, we decided to try out Oak for dinner with the family. We were welcomed and seated on the beautiful relaxing patio and started out with refreshing iced tea. We then ordered our entrees and waited and waited and waited a good 45 minutes to even see our meals. We wouldn’t mind this as much if we were dining alone, but our three young children were starving at that point and the bread and butter wasn’t doing it for them. To summarize the food– the steak was pretty good and tender, salad was good, deviled eggs needed a kick and the chowder was pretty good. For my Cesar, I specifically asked for a hot breast of chicken to be grilled and served with my salad, rather than pre-cooked cubes of cold chicken, which is my pet peeve. Instead, I was served those same cubes, but just reheated. Not what I was hoping to have. Very disappointing.

The burger was amazing, so were the scallops and the New York steak. The lavender crème brûlée is a must have!

Just finished dinner here and I have to say the service is great. They were very friendly and kind. The food was great and it tasted very good but one thing that bothered me a lot was the environment. When I came to this resort, I knew we would be the only Asians. But I wouldn’t think it would be any problem. Every time we are eating, I hear disgusting things they would say to us and about my family. My cousins are excited to be here and they would talk a little louder than usual. But who cares! This place is for family. Everybody else is Caucasian and we were the only Asians at the dinner table. I feel like I want to throw up because of how people looked at us and every time a couple would sit at a table next to us, they would eventually move because of my family. One of the worst place to eat dinner especially if you ain’t Caucasian.

Perfect light lunch and the view is great. The tuna melt was great. Sit in the patio and enjoy the breeze.

The service was great. Let me start by saying I am not a picky person. The polenta was ok. The shrimp dish was ok. The swordfish was ok. Nothing to write home about. The old fashion was average. The vibe and the scenery was excellent.

Went there with a group of friends and two of us in the group ordered NY steak. The quality of the meat was akin to what you would get in an airport. One other in our party ordered a Cobb salad which came completely dry. No vinaigrette as listed. Neither the severer or any bus person came by our table for 20 minutes after we finished our meal so we were without service for over 1 hour. For prices they charge we would have thought we’d get 5 star service.

My boyfriend and I have golfed at the course here for years. Sadly, we usually go into town for the great restaurants with much better food and prices. I love the new dog friendly tables over looking the golf course, what a great idea, but the food is still very«so, so! My shrimp cocktail was amazing but my salad was just horrible. My boyfriend ordered the tuna melt and didn’t think much of that either. We drank 4 Pixie Margaritas each which were very good but they were in those tall slim glasses, so with ice, you only get a couple sips and that’s it! When the bill came we were floored! $ 160 bucks! I guess we were paying for the view. Oh well, we love that our dogs can join us and the golf on Sundays is around $ 80, so we really can’t complain. We’ll continue to golf there, maybe sit at the dog friendly tables for a drink and then eat somewhere in town!

Lovely setting. Allow plenty of time for a leisurely meal. I ordered the chicken caesar and a side of mascarpone polenta. The salad(slightly composted) may have come out of a bag and the chicken was rock hard. The polenta arrived after I had finished the salad and was full of lumps. Very expensive for the quality of the food.

Just finished up dinner at The Oak Grill. Very underwhelming. We’ve been staying at the hotel(which is fantastic) for the past couple of days and decided to end our trip with a great dinner at the«nicer» of the restaurants on the property. The hostess greeted us promptly. Very nice and friendly. We were seated on the gorgeous patio and had a great table overlooking the golf course. I ordered the New York Steak per recommendation of our server. Not sure if he tried the NY steak that was served from their kitchen. 70% of it was fat. I ordered it cooked medium rare and was more on the rare side. The garlic mashed potatoes that came with it were cold. I should have sent it back but I didn’t. My mother had the steak salad with maybe 4 small slices of steak and no dressing. Ojai Resort and Spa is such a phenomenal hotel that people come to from afar to relax and indulge. You would think that their primary restaurant for dinner would live up to their reputation. After writing this but prior to posting, the manager, I believe Debi, came over to see how our meal was. I discussed the above situation regarding the steak. She promptly removed the charge from our bill and apologized. It was kind gesture and greatly appreciated. Above and beyond what I would have ever expected … we were sent a delicious dessert and a bottle of champagne to our room. All I have to say, to rectify the situation, The Oak Grill manager did an exceptional job. Kudos to Debi. Hope to test the restaurant out again when I’m back next month.

We had a pre-Valentine’s day dinner at this restaurant. The food was spectacular and fresh. Yes, it’s expensive but this was one of the best meals that I’ve had in about six months. I recommend the Brussel sprout appetizers and diver scallops for a main course

LOVE the Oak Grill for breakfast. You can sit on the patio if the weather is nice… or sit inside a beautiful Mexican Casita. They have a nice brunch buffet(it may only be on the weekends) and the typical breakfast choices from the menu. A nice start to the day… all set in a beautiful resort.

We enjoyed an exceptional dinner here last night! We’ve been at the resort a few nights and after trying pretty much every other restaurant in town we decided on staying on the property and indulging a little. As soon as we walked up, they asked what we were celebrating and we said our anniversary. Much to our delight, they gave us a champagne toast as soon as we sat down! Our waiter suggested a vintage Syrah from their cellar that was perfection. We started with the heirloom burrata salad, it was perfectly fresh and flavorful. My husband had the ribeye which he enjoyed while I, the vegetarian, had the mushroom tortellini. I’m not kidding, hands down, best tortellini I’ve ever had. The ambience and view is amazing, it’s true. And the prices really weren’t bad. If you’re choosing between Oak Grill and Jimmys pub, definitely choose the Grill. I was not wowed by the overpriced, underwhelming selection at Jimmys.

The best part of the Oak Grill is dining on the patio. The lights make it feel so festive, and the lively crowds make you feel you are at a party. Service is okay. Menu expensive, and so much comes a la carte, but what we ordered tasted good. Not great, but good. It was our first night, and after a day in the hot sun, of traveling, we thought why not eat at the«resort.» There was music on the lawn, too, to add to that lovely feeling and help us wait patiently for our table. Even with a reservation, expect to wait during the high season. Don not expect a «terrace view.» The hostess sat us on the outskirts, restaurant«Siberia,» no view, outside the perimeter of the patio. We had to send back the first drinks, too watered down. The waitress agreed. They offered us indoors which was even worse, dead and empty. If it hadn’t been so late, we would have left.

This was my fave meal at the resort. I had an egg white omelette and it was good — soft, good ratio of ingredients, and piping hot. The view is amazing and peaceful. So sad they don’t do Sunday dinner and smores time isn’t til 630pm. Will def eat here again.

As it turns out, it’s all about the setting here at the Ojai Resort & Spa. Essentially, outside next to huge oak trees, overlooking the golf course. While it’s not at the beach, or on the cliffs along the Amalfi Coast, this is pretty serene and relaxing. I thought this would be an amazing chance to use an old $ 200 gift card I received back in 2004! The idea to enjoy an AYCE brunch buffet has been on my mind for years, so I finally had the chance. In short — the quality is good, but the selection was minimal. Choices were an omelet & waffle bar, a small amount of berries/fruit, yogurt, a cheese plate, a small amount of bagels/toast, muffins, and breads, and OJ. Perhaps the best offering, flavored butters: strawberry, maple, and honey. Each of these are worth eating by the spoonful. Unfortunately, at $ 29.99 per person, it’s good — but not running-back-anytime-soon good. What gains an extra star is the service. My server was Alyssa, and she couldn’t be more sweet. But this compliment extends to the entire staff that interacted with me in some manner. All were kind, lovely, smiling, and helpful. Kudos to the management for hiring very service-oriented folks with such good-energy.
