The Dr’s & staff are awesome. My only gripe(I’m stretching here) if you are going to have a coffee pot in the waiting room, please have coffee in it, otherwise remove it. That’s a lot of cups being wasted when someone goes to get a cup only to find pot empty & throwing the cup away.

I have gone to Dean McGee for years. I have gone and seen Dr. Patel because I am legally blind in my left eye because they call it a lazy eye. I had cataracts the last three times I have been in their office but they told me they were not bad enough to have surgery on at the time. The last time I went in Dr. Patel told me I still had the cataracts. I told him that I was having a hard time seeing at night because of the glares. He set me up an appointment with Dr. Bailey that does the cataract surgery. He told me that I should have the surgery and I would be able to see 20⁄20 out of my right eye and the best they could do on my left eye was 20⁄60 which I figured that.Dr. Bailey told me that I would be able to see great far away but would need reading glasses for close up. I had been wearing contacts for years and reading glasses for close up so that was fine. I had my right eye done first. When I went back two weeks later to have my left eye done, I told Dr. Bailey that I could not see far away out of my right eye. When I went in after one week regarding the surgery in my left eye, my husband went with me to the appointment and we recorded it on his phone. Dr. Bailey was very rude. He told me that he must have put in the wrong lens. He told me he put in a 26 and should have put in a 24. I have this recorded. I asked him what he could do about this. He told me that they could not do the surgery again because I could be blind. He was very rude. He told me that I had a short eye and all of his other stuff. I told him that I did not understand the medical terminology. He told me it was not medical terminology that it was optical terminology. He told me that I reminded him of his mother very feisty. I told him at that time that I did not care about his mother, I cared about my eyes. My husband asked a question and he told him that he did not have to answer the question because he was not the patient. I went and saw a David Edwards with Dean McGee and he told me that Dr. Bailey was Military and that was why he was rude. To me that is no excuse. I called a person in the Administration office, Garyl Geist, and he would not call me back, and finally I told his secretary that I would see him in court so he finally called me back. He asked me what they could do to get this resolved and I told him since they messed up, I would like to have glasses and contacts for the rest of my life, which I am 65 years old. He told me that they would not even give me one pair of glasses or contacts. I went to their optical shop and got glasses because I could not see and Dr. Patel gave me a glass prescription. A bunch of my friends have had cateract surgery and everything came out great. They did not go to Dean McGee. Most of them went to Edward Jones or Russell Crane. Garyl Geist from the Administration office called me back in a few days and told me that they thought they had a good outcome from the surgery. I told him how could I have had a good outcome from the surgery when I could not see. He told me well ATLEAST I DIDNOTGOBLINDORHAVE A DETACHEDRETINAFROMTHESURGERY. That was real classy of him to tell me that. I WOULDNEVERGOBACKTODEANMCGEEORTHEIRCONTACTPERSONKERI. THEYACTEDLIKE I WASCRAZY. I AM A CLASSYWOMAN. I HAVEBEENINTHEWORKFORCEALLOFMYLIFEANDHAVENEVERTREATEDANYONELIKETHIS. They set me up an appointment with the contact person, which I am sure they have all talked about me. She gave me some contacts, which I could not see out of. I went back to her because I had paid her $ 75.00 for nothing, just like the surgery. She told me that she could not find any contacts to put me in and thought I could see fine without anything. Well is that not funny, Dr. Patel had given me a prescription for eye glasses which I can see fine out of, and she told me she did not have any contacts and thought I could see fine. Well I went to Dr. Russell Crane, which is a great optomologist and he fitted me in some contacts that I can see fine out of, but she just could not find any that would work and she thought I could see fine without anything. Her name is Keri and she is at the downtown office. I usually go to the Edmond office because I live in Edmond. I AMGETTINGREADYTOSUETHEM. I HAVENEVERSUEDANYONEINMYLIFEBUTTHEYACTLIKE I AMCRAZY. I’m a relatively new patient at Dean McGee, however so far my experiences with the clinic have been awesome! I came here after a horrible experience with an ophthalmologist in Norman. So glad I did!

This is a great eye institute. The doctors are really nice and they take good care of their patients.
