One of the best spin classes I’ve ever attended! Was in OKC for business and signed up for this class the night before. Easy to enroll and easy to find the studio. Melissa was energetic, fun and motivating. Worked up a great sweat and am going back again tonight! Get here if you want a hardcore workout and love to break a sweat! Recommend signing up before as the class was absolutely full.

Moxieride is fantastic! It is very clean, the instructors are great and the classes provide an amazing workout. The studio has great new bikes and is at a nice, cool temperature. Lockers are available to store your things while you’re spinning and there are even showers to clean up afterwards. There is a Keurig machine to make a coffee on your way out too. The bathrooms are spacious and have great extras like hair ties, lotions, etc. They offer shoe rental for $ 3 if you don’t have spin shoes or forgot yours. I had to rent shoes one day when I forgot mine and the shoes were clean, nothing like yucky bowling shoes or something! I’m only dinging one star because on two occasions I drove here and their 7 pm Wednesday ride was cancelled. I drive from downtown and so it cost me about an hour round trip of my time, which was frustrating.

Moxie is the most challenging spin studio in OKC. It’s a great workout and their new facility is very conducive to a great workout — you will be sweaty. If you are a beginner or an experienced rider, Moxie is sure to find a workout for you. Spin hard and watch the pounds disappear. Work hard, eat right and you’ll be super healthy. The music is great and the bikes are fun.

My first Moxie ride was today at their new location. I haven’t seen the old one, so I can’t personally compare. They moved here for a bigger and better space and it is quite big and nice! CUSTOMERSERVICEBLURB: My first encounter with Moxie was clumsy and frustrating, pretty much 100% fault on my part. I had bought a single ride($ 18 but they do have a 3 for $ 30 deal for first time riders) while they were still at their old location, but just two days away from completely moving into this current building so their sign had been moved. The building itself was very unassuming and my dumb GPS said I had«arrived» when I very well had NOT. Moxie was still down the street from my «arrival» point. By time I figured out my blunder, I was late and class was going. Being late isn’t something that’s tolerated(which is a good thing. The room is dark and it’s disconcerting when the door is opened.), so I missed my ride. There is a $ 10 penalty for missing a scheduled ride if not cancelled before 8pm the night before. I was bummed about that, so I called them and left a message in regards to it. I was hoping to avoid the $ 10 fee since I really did try to make it! The $ 18 I didn’t care about, because I paid it for the ride and it was my fault I missed it, anyway. If I wasn’t able to avoid the $ 10 fee, no worries, though. BUT I remembered e-mail is greater than phone so I sent a message and got one back shortly saying they would not only not charge me the fee, but they credited back my $ 18 so I could use it for another ride(today’s, in fact). I was not expecting this and it was a very pleasant surprise! PRE-RIDE: Good lord. While I can agree that most fitness levels are quite able to spin, it doesn’t mean it will be kind to you. Fun? Yes! Painful? At first, but there are ways to compensate(bringing a gel/padded seat and/or wearing padded cycling shorts), which I plan on utilizing before my next ride. I’m an overweight gal and I was terrified of my first ride, but Helen Ann was very helpful, as well was the other woman(I’m the worst for forgetting her name). For your first ride, shoe rentals are free, but $ 3 after that(the class requires clip in cycling shoes). The lovely lady got me perfectly fitted and handed me over to the instructor of the class, Helen Ann. She showed me how to adjust the seat, clip in and get comfortable. For the MoxieSteel classes, they provided weights(1−5lbs). Don’t be a hero. It’s not like lifting weights while standing still. There is also a towel on each bike, ’cause you’re gonna get gross. THERIDE: There are tons of components to the entire session. Alternating weight lifting, standing up while cycling, pushing(like push ups against the handlebars), going up and down consistently, turning up the resistance, and maybe a couple of things I can’t recall. The music is high energy and your legs go with the beat. At the end of the day, stay with the beat and do the best you can. That’s the most important thing. Legs too tired to jump up? Then don’t. Just cycle with the beat. Same with everything else. Helen Ann is fantastic. I was intimated at first by a cute fit girl leading a spinning class(which get pretty negative but comical portayals in sitcoms and such), but she’s super nice and helpful and encouraging. POST-RIDE: Find your land legs, especially if you’re new. I was wobbly so I sort of stood by the bike for a second. Then go grab a towel and some spray and wipe down your bike! Put up your weights(or bands if you’re doing MoxieBands) and change those crazy shoes. They do sell things like gloves, shoes, and other apparel. If they don’t have your size, they’ll order ‘em for ya. They currently(as of 4-7-2015) have a Groupon which I did take advantage of. I have 5 rides ahead of me!
