We went for my nieces 11th birthday. Everything was great, sushi freshly made, great atmosphere, until the birthday girl found a baby roach in her mismu soup! There were 17 of us so to leave and find a new place, wouldn’t have ruined my nices birthday so we stuck it out. At the end, I went to the bathroom and on my way found 2more dead roaches on the window seal. Stay away, unless you want to eat roaches!!! Worse part was the manager nor anyone compensated my poor niece for the roach in her food or a apology from manager. The waiter was very apologetic, but it would have been nice to hear from the owner, who also owned the liquor store next door.

I’m not sure how to go about saying this but, wow, what a disappointment. The inside was nicely decorated and the menu had pictures of everything, so we were excited to try this place out. That is, until we received our food. The first plate brought out was a tuna roll. Didn’t really leave any impression at all. It reminded me a lot like«to go» sushi you get at Crest or something. Then, our sushi combo came out. Just one glance and we were done eating. The salmon nigiri pieces still had the brown part of the fish on them! We’ve NEVER seen this at any sushi restaurant before. I feel like actual sushi chefs would cry many tears if they saw this. We tried to be optimistic and each took a bite. Nope. Not happening. It was awful. First and last visit here.

This is our second trip and we love it here! I went to Musashi’s a few months ago and this is by far better food. It was cooked better, seasoned better and the prices are reasonable. The sushi is also phenomenal! The staff is friendly. I definitely recommend this place. It’s nice to have an excellent hibachi restaurant on the south side.

My favorite sushi place in OKC! Rainbow roll, samurai, spicy cali, phili, all must-try!

Terrible. More so the service than anything. I ordered miso soup and edamame. The edamame was great. The miso soup tasted awful, like fish water and the seaweed in it was super mushy, upon further inspection, there was also lipstick on my spoon. I let the waitress know, she started making an excuse before I even finished saying anything. The manager swung by, apologized and said that she grabbed the wrong soup. Ummmmm? The rancid one? One that had been sitting on someone else’s table because it was lukewarm when we got it? The sushi was tasty, however they rolls were very loosely rolled and I ordered masago nigiri and instead got actual fish. When I brought it up to the waitress she again began to kind of argue with me, insisting that is what it’s supposed to be. I asked to speak to a manager after googling it because I have been wrong before. When the manager came over she said she, the manager read it wrong and thought it was masaki. Another interesting thing, the manager also being the sushi chef. I won’t be back. I should have left after the soup.

Excellent sushi! Welcoming and inviting. Yay, now the south side has a good sushi restaurant. I got lunch to go and enjoyed a hot saki while waiting.

This great little place for hibachi and sushi on the south side. It’s real nice place for lunch and is reasonably priced. The lunch hibachi comes with salad, soup, egg roll, and a California roll w/steamed rice and choice of meat all under $ 10. The only thing I felt that was off was that it seemed understaffed only one girl was working and serving and the guy at the sushi bar was inattentive. Overall good ambiance and food.

Very polite and great service! I had the Shrimp tempura meal. It was great. Everything was cooked perfectly. My husband had the salmonland and maski rolls. He enjoyed them. I highly recommend this place.

Good food, great service, but beware… They charge $ 5 to plate share and their prices are outrageous! I wouldn’t mind the $ 5 charge, IF they had told us up front.

I eat at many sushi restaurants and worked at a few. Definitely was not my favorite. I gave a few tries by swinging by to eat 4 –5 times, and was slightly disappointed.

Did not partake in hibachi — and prefer hibachi brought to me than the table side production with strangers. Beef satay is amazing but the sushi is very bland. As in ingredients are vaguely flavorful and roll composition hardly inspired. This could be a great place to share beer and small plates but not entirely dinner worthy — despite affordability.

Overall everything was real good. Had this thing called the Green Lizard and it was excellent. Maybe someone called out today or something because this lady looked like she was by herself. Will definitely come back if im ever in OKC again

Food is good but they r pretty rude in there. Been here 3 times and each time they were awkward and rude. Maybe I look funny idk. But if I’m giving u my money then u can at least pretend to want my business.

Excellent sushi! Atmosphere is fresh and clean. I compare the sushi with the best places I have eaten sushi. Great price point.

I’m no sushi expert(pretty much just a roll guy), but I travel for work and eat a lot of it, in some highly rated sushi joints on both coasts and everywhere in between. That ‘qualification’ stated, I have to say that I am pretty impressed with Sakura. Their sushi is excellent… as good, or better than, any I’ve had in OKC(Go-Go, In The Raw, Volcanoes, etc.). They are a bit slow in prep, but make up for it in presentation, service, and quality. It’s a cool atmosphere too… made better with a «large» Asahi(chilled glass included)! Not sure about the hibachi situation… looks fun, but we haven’t tried it. Yet. Enjoy!

Everything was delicious from the calamari to the sushi to the hibachi steak & chicken! We will definitely be back! Our chef was amazing & funny! I got the samurai roll & it was one of the best sushi rolls I have ever eaten & the plate presentation was beautiful! If you haven’t been here yet, I highly suggest trying it out!
