History

Established in 2000.

Total Foot & Ankle was built by Dr. Trent Smith. When he expectantly passed in the spring of 2014, his friend and fellow podiatrist, Scott Shields stepped in. Dr. Shields flagship practice is located in Enid, OK. He established Northwest Foot & Ankle Center January 1995 soon after graduating from podiatry school and completing the required residency programs. He is very excited about being in OKC and getting to know so many more people.

Dr. Scott Shields was born and raised in Shelby, NC. He served as a reactor operator for six years in the US Navy. He left the Navy in 1983 to serve a full time, two year mission in Arizona.

He graduated with his doctorate from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, opened Northwest Foot & Ankle Center in 1995 and is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. May 2014, the doctor joined Total Foot & Ankle in Oklahoma City, further expanding his message, «It Shouldn’t Hurt to Walk!»

Dr. Shields is, an active pilot, loves to travel and explore. He is married to his sweetheart, Carolyn, and has a daughter, married, with 2 grandchildren.
