Sun & Ski

Always a great place for Outdoor apparel. We came right after Christmas because my husband had a gift card, and although we probably only come once or twice a year, we can always find what we’re looking for.
They had a great selection of Patagonia jackets, and my husband also got some ski bibs at a great price. Of course they have the great brands (Oakley, Columbia etc) that are a little more expensive, but I feel like they have a range of prices for snowboard/​ski gear. Their staff was awesome too. We had one guy working with us that was really helpful, and everyone else we spoke to made sure we were taken care of. It’s always a go-​to place for us.

Thank you Sun & Ski for your excellent customer service! We are heading out for a family ski trip and needed a few extra things before we leave. Chris was our salesperson and he was friendly, knowledgeable and got us fitted with everything we needed. Love the Patagonia selection as well! This is not our first shopping experience with Sun & Ski and we will continue to do business here because of the exceptional selection and service.

Very poor customer service. Although they advertise a 30 day cash back return they will not honor thier policy. My wife bought me a pair of boots and specifically asked about returns. I returned the unworn boots the day after Christmas and they refused to give us our money back instead offering a gift card to the store. I showed the clerk thier policy on thier web page. She just shrugged nd said– corporate says no refunds. Worst store in Oklahoma. They have a terrible reputation.

The staff at Sun and Ski are friendly and knowledgable. They use the gear they sell and have always been great at helping me find the right stuff. One jacket they sold me I liked so much that when I lost it (which never happens to me) I scoured the internet to find the same model because the manufacturer stopped making it and I couldn’t imagine finding one as durable and effective. They love the gear and want you to find something you love too.
I live in Texas now, but I make a point to stop by when I am in town.

I brought my bike here to have the back tire repaired. Less than 2 days later, I got a call saying that it was ready to be picked up. When I arrived, there was a mix up and it turned out my bike wasn’t completely fixed yet. The guys were apologetic and asked if I could wait just a little bit. It was fixed in 10 mins. One of the guys brought the bike out to my car and said there was no charge. I really didn’t mind waiting since I had to install the bike rack onto the back of my car anyways. But he insisted and said he wants me to come back to their business in the future and this was their way of making up for their mistake. With that kind of customer service, you bet I’ll be coming back!
The store was very spacious. They had every kind of outdoor gears you might need. There were clothes, towels, tubing equipment, all sorts of footwear, bikes, water bottles, and more. Employees were very nice and knowledgeable.
Just a heads up, they cannot help you install the bike rack or load your bike onto the rack due to store policy and liability issues. Wish I had known because I had a heck of a time lifting that heavy bike by myself!

I originally went to Sun and Ski to look for a road bike, so a majority of this review is based on the bike department. I met with Chris and explained to him how I was just getting into the sport, and gave him an idea of what I was looking for. He explained the many different types and makes of road bikes that they carried, had me try a few different size frames, and figured out the best size frames for me in the different bikes that they carried.
Like many of the local bike shops in town, you can test ride the bikes, and Sun and Ski was no exception. Before he sent me off on the bike, Chris put the put the bike up on his vise and showed me a little bit about the components. He explained the various components, made some adjustments to the bike I was about to ride, and showed me how to do the same.
In the end, I did not end up purchasing my bike here. I got a used bike that was better suited for me, and brought it in to them for a tune up. Chris remembered me, and was extremely helpful with the tune-​up process of my bike. They basically treated me like I bought my bike from them. Everyone in the store was very nice and helpful, so if you every need anything, especially bike stuff, give them a try!

This is one of the best places to go in OKC for outdoors equipment, but it sorely lacks behind similar stores in other cities. I typically find that they have one or two of the specialty equipment I need, but I can get it cheeper with more selection online or in Dallas. This is a great Oklahoma owned store and I love to support them, but I wish the store was bigger and the selection was better. They do have really great staff that know a lot about Camping and Skiing (snow & water).
