M-Squared Bistro

Ok I’ll start this out by saying I’m glad to have another, better restaurant choice in Okmulgee other than a chain fast food place.
Walking in, M-​Squared is clean and typical of a lunch place. Counter service for ordering is fine and the woman was pleasant. I ordered the pastrami Reuben on rye and my wife the grilled chicken on a sourdough roll. Soup of the day was clam chowder… it was canned but I was told that the soups are usually made fresh but the person that does that was busy with a catering job so why charge me the Full price of $ 2.95 for canned soup!!! potato salad… again not homemade but usually is etc etc. The price of the potato salad was included… This put the $ 9.25 Reuben in question… what all is usually homemade and what’s store bought here. And the Grilled chicken was fine at $ 7.50, the counter person asked what kind of cheese and one was chosen… but then to be charged for the slice of cheese??? On $ 7.50 sandwich? Really? I’m gonna go back one more time and see if I can try some of this homemade soup and potato salad… eventually… But not until I can forget about the high cost of mediocre.

I’ve eaten at this new restaurant several times now and haven’t had a bad meal yet. My absolute fav is the turkey and cranberry sandwich. I heard the pizza is fantastic! Love the atmosphere of this historically renovated restaurant in the heart of downtown Okmulgee

This is a neat new Bistro in Okmulgee that would do well in the midtown area of any larger city.
The restaurant has pizza (I have tried the Mai-​Tai) that is good, along with sandwiches, soup, and some basic salads (I wish they would expand their salad offerings). I’ve tried the cranberry turkey sandwich — excellent. The roast beef sandwich wasn’t my cup of tea, but for what it was, it was good.
One thing that I appreciate about this place is that, while it is definitely not «fast», the service is expedient — on my 90 minute lunch break, this is the only downtown restaurant in Okmulgee that I can eat at without fear of being late.
Overall, this is a great joint for Okmulgee — it is clean, bright, friendly, and has good food and pleasant service.
