History

Established in 1957.

While Camp Jacobson at Robin Hood is relatively new in the world of Long Island Day Camping, its history is rich. Formerly know as Robin Hood Country Day School, our site was founded on «Big Tree Farm», the former J.N. Hill estate, in 1957. The estate was named after the 400-year old sycamore located just to the north of Wheatley Road and to the east of what is now the entrance to camp. While the tree recently lost several major branches, its remaining arms spread over one hundred feet.
