Oldsmar Public Library

This is a quaint library in a very beautiful area it gives you the appeal of stepping into a time capsule and a place to enjoy books.

This library is definitely the pearl of Oldsmar! I live 5 minutes away from this library over in Hillsborough County. I’ve always gone to the restaurants over in that direction but never noticed that there was a library. and this past week I happen to be searching for a home in that direction and noticed I knew majestic structure. I park the car out front weather seems to be plenty of parking and went inside and realized it was a library building. There is only one level but for the amount of people in the town of Oldsmar it’s enough room.
The décor of the library almost looks like an old train station. I don’t know how many people remember watching channel 13 (PBS) but it definitely reminded me of the show Shining Time Station! From the ceiling fans to the light fixtures it is very reminiscent of the era. I walked around and noticed that there are two meeting rooms and a café area with vending machines. When you walk through the sliding doors you first come across the processing desk where the staff seems to be in their own little bubble but polite if approached. It was a small little computer area, a children’s library, a reading zone with nostalgic chairs and seating along the outskirts of the shelves. I did get a chance to use the computer while I was here and had a rather pleasant experience. I will definitely return and encourage others to visit. there is parking in the front and there is a parking lot around the back as well.
I was however disappointed to find out that Hillsborough County residents can not take out books from this location because it is but part of Pinellas County. The Only way to gain access is by purchasing $ 100 library card.

It’s a bit cluttered and homey, but it’s so amazingly outfitted with Oldsmar charm that oozes out of every room and with each stick of furniture. Comfort and style astound with a steam punk feel while keeping fully functional with a café, children’s story time room, meeting room with small hard floor area, clean restrooms, internet access, kid sized furniture, a cool outdoor atrium with vintage style «Oldsmar chairs» and lawn art. The library is just the tip of this little city’s iceberg. There are waterfront parks, Oldsmar Tap House, and grub spots all within walking distance!

Great spot for business meetings, or to go and get some peace and quiet for a while. The retro vibe keeps with Oldsmar’s rich automobile history, so the building looks new from outside, but feels old school on the inside. The ceiling fans take my old soul back to the turn of the century and scream «Industrial Age!» This library also boasts a huge meeting room, probably for town halls and such. Also, there is a café area with a few vending machines.
Quiet, quaint and relaxing!

I thought the library would lose it’s small town charm after moving from its old location on State Street, but once you step inside all worries are put at ease. There is a meeting room named Teco Hall you can rent for I believe $ 75 or so. It’s a good size room that can accommodate up to 75 – 100 people. My community have held HOA meetings here many times. The entrance hallway to the library is so nice and breezy due to the high bamboo style ceiling fans. There are numerous brochures, tax docs etc lining the walls in the hallways. Then you step into the library and the first thing you notice are these large antique looking lamps and high ceiling fans. I just love the décor and feel. There are computers scattered around which is great. My nieces and nephews love coming here because of the children section. This makes me happy and brings back memories when my sister and I would walk to the library after school and sit for hours just reading books or doing our homework.
The library is clean and there’s plenty of parking except when there are race events which can get very crowded.

This is a nice big comfortable library with retro décor. It’s well appointed with computers and lots of books. Enjoy! And if you’re interested in local history they have some good photo books on Oldsmar history and you can also check out the Oldmsar Hisotrical Society (Tuedays and Thursdays 10:00 am — 2:00 pm) which is nearby. And there is an old Oldsmobile replica in the city building across from the historical society. And once you’re done reading head down to one of thelovely parks on the shoreline, sit and relax or go for a walk! Oldsmar is a lovely little community with some nice homes and the library is definitely a winner.

This library is very quaint yet high tech. I love the kids section with the chairs/​couches for my nieces and nephews to sit and read their books.

I saw Ming’s review and was curious to check this place out. The libraries where I come from are kind of meh, so I was excited by the prospect of something new.
Before you ever walk in there are tables out front. You can bring lunch here. You can bring your buddies here. And it’s free? Definitely a smart idea for something to do.
I made my way inside and was instantly enchanted by the look of this place. Old fashioned fans, pictures from Oldsmar’s past, and other vintage touches surround you here.
There are tables near the adult section, bean bag chairs and cool classic car couches in the teen section, and cute benches and soft seats for the little guys in the children’s section. It would be so easy for me to come here, grab a book, and lose myself in a story for a few hours.
They also have a large selection of DVDs you can borrow, which is a great option for those who want entertainment on the cheap. I might start renting these just as much as I go to Redbox.
Something I also find to be very neat is the atrium near the back. I could see someone having a book club there, or a tea party if the library would allow it.
I am so happy that I finally visited Oldsmar Library and plan to be here quite often!

It took me by surprise when I visited Oldsmar Public Library. I never thought our city could offer such modern facility. I really underestimated Oldsmar. What is going on in this city? I thought I live with bunch of Tea Party folks who tries to suck out my soul.
This library has done everything right. It is free. It is large. It is for all ages. It is connected with 21^st century technology. It is beautiful.
I have a date with Oldsmar Library today. How exciting.
