History

Established in 1975.

Renato & Jacqueline Attard opened our first location in April 1975. We’ve changed locations on the same street in the past years, and have always grown. Renato, of Italian decent, Jacqueline, Lebanese, moved to Olean in the 60’s from Sudan, Africa. While he was a manager of a wholesale company, she baked baklava & pita bread and sold them in local supermarkets. Since that was a hit, they found their first location, which was a grocery store. They started with that and started selling Mediterranean meats, cheeses and ingredients that were hard to find. As that grew, the deli became more and more popular… New items added weekly, till they finally got rid of the whole grocery store part and went fully into preparing and serving delicious foods. Starting out with authentic cuisines from their culture, they started creating original dishes, where they boasted «Originality at its best».

We continue to serve the same great food and strive to keep our customers happy! Come check us out!
