David was AWESOME. Real cowboy and funny. Taught us how to ride at lope speed. Very helpful and catered to each persons’ ability.

Everyone was so nice, the rides were very reasonably priced, and the journey was beautiful. Thank you so much for bringing back some childhood memmories of riding for me. I miss it a lot. Highly highly recommend this location. I rode trigger and rigger was great!!! A local I met in the bar/​hotel I was staying at told me yo get paulie, which they did let me ride, but my legs are too short. Haha I had to switch. Paulie looked great too! They were all great!

We went yesterday with our grandson to this stable and had a fairly nice experience. Even though our little guy didn’t like to get on his horse and refused to put his helmet as required, we enjoyed being there. The lady on this picture was specially nice with him and showed him around. Thanks for being so kind!
They allowed us even to mount a different horse to lure our grandson to get him on for a picture. It worked!

I’ve been riding at Five Brooks for years. The horses are in good condition and the trails are well maintained by the park service. The variety of trails provides interest — in the spring you can see Ospreys nesting, wild flowers and occasionally a bobcat. In the fall it’s a different look and feel but still green along the ridge trail. Carol is a great guide and there are others who are good too. The ride to the beach, you take you own food is great, more fun if you’ve ridden before though as it’s a long day. In the winter there are often people mushroom hunting — so it’s a great way to experience the seasons in the Bay area — from a horse.

Ryan was an amazing tour guide! It was my first time riding a horse and he made me feel comfortable. He explained everything to me very well, and he knew so much about the wildlife.

We had great experience at the stables. Both David and Ryan were very funny and informative. We had lots of fun.

Took my wife and kids here for a first time on a horse experience. It was amazing and we plan to go back soon. Two things to note on getting there. It takes longer than you think (but totally worth it) and there is no gas stations nearby. Fill up before you head out!

Showed up at five brooks spontaneously and decided to take one of their guided rides, luckily they had extra spots that morning because usually u have to call to reserve. I have never been on a horse, but the guides and staff at Five Brooks really put you at ease and teach you how to ride the horses. The horses are also very well behaved. Overall a great first experience and I would definitely come back!

I came here with my girlfriend, and I have to say, this place is excellent!
We did the two hour guided tour with Ryan. Two hours was the perfect amount of time, and Ryan did an excellent job on the tour. I guess my only complaint was the horse Willy had ropes to hold onto, which cut my girlfriend’s hands pretty good. My horse had leather instead of ropes, which left my hands in good condition. Also, there was a pretty small selection of helmets (I will not get on a horse or bike without a helmet).
Overall, it was an excellent day and a lot of fun. I would definitely go back!

«Lisa“our trail guide was patient and knowledgable. She paid extra attention to my 7 year old daughter who is a beginner rider (4^th time on a trail horse.) Lisa educated my daughter on building confidence by being assertive in controlling where the horse was suppose to go. She taught my daughter skills to gain confidence and control of a horse. And I learned a few things from Lisa, too! At the end of the 2 hour ride, my daughter was trotting with confidence and wants to come back tomorrow for another 2 hour ride! Thank you Lisa!!!

We got a 6hr private Wildcat Beach Ride with my wife. Simply speaking that was incredible! Carol, our guide, was fun, friendly and very knowledgeable about horses. We did a lot of trot and canter. But the gallop on the beach it was something unforgettable! The horses are incredibly fit and well kept. Both thumbs up!

My first time ever riding a horse and it was the best experience ever. I went with my family and we all thought It would be very difficult and kind of hard. But our guide was great, friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and helped each of us build confidence in riding.
Our guide Ryan made the experience very fun and we were kind of sad to end out trip. Two hours of riding was awesome but I recommend riding for a bit longer than that.
I will definitely be returning again. This is a great place for new experiences with family, friends, or just a lesson on horseback riding.
Ask for Ryan! My little cousins loved him!

I came here in January to surprise my boyfriend for a little horseback riding fun. And we had the best time here. Everybody was super nice and friendly. We both have experience in riding a horse as kids but we haven’t ridden in many years so when I called to reserve a spot; the guy suggested the one hour ride. We did an hour private ride and we both really enjoyed it. Our guide was so nice. She offered to take a picture of us at the end of our ride. And the drive to this ranch is very beautiful. Five stars!

My husband surprised me with a 4-​hour private trail ride at Five Brooks for my birthday — I hadn’t ridden a horse in years, and he does not have much experience. He could not have chosen better than Five Brooks Stables! The horses were healthy, the staff was kind, and our trail guide Sharon was absolutely the best!!!
The trail was so beautiful, and our horses seemed excited to be out (you don’t find this at most stables). It was so fun to actually RIDE — we were allowed to trot and canter — and my husband learned how to post! :) It was so exhilarating to be on horses who are healthy, active, and love to be on the trail.
We will definitely come back.

One of my best rides! I’m a (very) casual rider, grew up riding for fun on friends horses etc and never had lessons or anything.
I love horses but my last real, free (cantering etc) ride was 11 years ago– so I know the basics but hadn’t ridden in a long time. My husband knows I love riding and got me a private ride for my bday.
My guide for the ride was Carol and she was wonderful!!! She is a true horse expert. Major resume.
Big thing for me… She taught me how to post! After all this time I never knew how to do that right and she taught me in a matter of minutes! I don’t think it’s that easy of a thing to learn either! She made me feel so comfortable and confident (I have a bit of fear after falling off a horse). She selected a horse that was perfect for me too– I was supposed to get a bigger horse (I am tall and listed ‘intermediate as my skill level) and she stepped in and asked for a smaller, better tempered horse which was a really great decision. And she had my stirrups shortened. Between all these things I had an amazing experience. Thanks to Carol and Five Brooks ;).
