I’m not from the area and happened by Fisher Farm for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Picked up some bread and a wet bottom shoo fly pie. Have had many of the latter from Amish country, but I agree, this was, by far, the best! Not too sweet, like so many are. Wish they’d sell ‘em here in Jersey!

Corn Corn Corn! Yes, it’s sweet corn season in Pennsylvania and the Fisher Farm has the best corn you’ll find on this planet! So nice, so sweet, so fresh. If you’re buying corn at the supermarket you are messing up big time. Beside the corn, they also have a nice selection of other seasonal produce. The tomatoes this week are out of this world. And then there are the pies. Best shoo fly and strawberry rhubarb around. Worth the drive!

Their Shoo Fly Pie is absolutely the best; that’s what I always pick up. Black Buggy sells their goods at Fisher’s Produce Stand as well as several other locations. I grew up on shoo fly pie; I was not able to find a decent one from any bakery(including those in Lancaster) after my Mother passed away — that was, until I had one from Black-Buggy!
