Have been wanting to try this place for a year. Heard good things about it. «Fins & Feathers» set my expectations for something other than what it is — not that it is bad. It’s basically southern cooking fried everything. I was told the catfish is excellent — I’m no expert so maybe it is but I had 1 of 4 pieces and that was enough. The atmosphere is simple with silverware rolled in a wax paper sleeve; styrofoam cups and plates. The buffet Is standard fare fried things, green beans, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, etc. The owner is a really nice guy who appreciates your business, and it was nice to see Liz and Nikki from Hazel’s, too. All in all, if you know you’re getting southern cooking and catfish you’ll be fine.

The price is too much for the quality of food. Everything served besides the fish comes out of a can or out of a freezer. The vegetables are bland and the fried okra was tasteless. THEFRIEDOKRAWASTASTELESS. How does that even happen? I had one piece of fish that was undercooked. If you have ever bitten into undercooked fish, you know how bad that experience is. The whole experience felt like a half hearted effort. On top of that it was expensive for the quality of buffet. My ticket for me and my wife was over 30 bucks. Not outrageous, but outrageous for what it was. I love supporting local, but I just can’t support this local business.

We ate here for the first time yesterday. We found the food to be tasty and freshly cooked. limited selection. fried catfish, fried whole catfish, shrimp, chicken tenders, slaw, french fries, green beans, corn on the cob, white beans, hushpuppies(spicy and regular). they had dill and bread and butter pickles, tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, a selection of hot sauces I think that’s everything on the buffet. We didn’t look at a menu, so we can’t tell you what’s on that. The catfish was very, very good. The cooks are doing their jobs and making sure not to overchook. I also noticed them filling up the fried containers frequently. The only thing missing from the whole thing is some type of desert. Cobblers would be easy enough to add into their buffet. Their tea is some of the best in the area. And they did a great job of keeping it full all through out your meal, and even gave us to-go lids so we could take it with us. The price was inexpensive for what AYCE places charge these days. $ 12.99 a piece, plus $ 1.99 for the drink. This was the dinner price, not sure of the lunch prices. They are only open Thursday through Sunday.

The food here is average. They have a buffet with fried catfish and chicken strips which are ok but not particularly impressive. It is an inexpensive place to eat which is a plus.

Let me start off this review by saying the food was great for the price! We ate the buffet its $ 12.99 all you can eat. The buffet has fried catfish, whole catfish, chicken tenders, fried shrimp, fries, hushpuppies, corn on the cob, green beans fried okra, and great northern beans. The sweet tea is great as well BUT now for the bad… When we went there was a big group there and like all big groups there will be children(I love kids so please don’t take this the wrong way) this groups kids were running around like crazy and were LOUD. Their parents must be hard or hearing. I only found this really annoying because my 80 year old grandmother couldn’t hear a word I would say unless I yelled at her. NEXT the service was horrible! I had to go and refill my tea and then I had to go refill my boyfriends tea and our server saw me bit she was to shooting the bull with another customer. This really annoyed me cause I walked right by her and she never said ONE word to me! I can say all this about the service because I waited tables for 10 years and I know how a customer is suppose to be treated!!!

Oh, Lord. Come hungry, leave 50lbs heavier. The buffet only has around 10 items, but you’ll never eat more catfish and chicken tenders again in your entire life. Sometimes the food can be overcooked from the heat lamps, so if you manage to catch a fresh batch from the back, you’re in luck. Get the sweet tea. It’s the real deal. They serve«boy» and«girl» sized beverages, which is bizarre, but whatever: it works for me.

I ate here for the first time on a Thursday night after calling to confirm they had whole catfish for the buffet and would not run out and they said yes to both. We’ll my small group of 3 showed up around 6:15 and after ordering drinks we proceeded to the buffet only to find 1 whole catfish and all the serving trays had hardly any items in them, maybe they wait to see how big of a crowd will show up for a Thursday buffet. Anyway I inquired about the catfish and was told they had some cooking, shortly thereafter they came out with 4 whole catfish. So after trying some of the other items and giving them some more time went to get some more fish only see tray empty again, I inquired again and was told they had some more cooking again. Shortly after again 2 pieces came out. Well I am eating a buffet and had called ahead about the fish and all 3 of us wanted the whole. I could have made due with some fillets but the crust was rubbery and you had to bite and pull to get a bite separated. Again tray is empty and I asked again and was told it would be 15 mins for some more, I said never mind, but the waitress came out in a few mins with 2 more fish. Wasn’t my idea of a buffet which is what this place is and the whole time the other trays of food had very little items in them besides the fries and chicken tenders. The waitress kept our tea glasses fairly full and that is the only thing this place had going for it. Also it was not crowded and I live close by but won’t be back to visit. I will drive to the Slayden Storehouse or the Chatterbox, spend a little bit more money on fuel but I always leave those 2 places satisfied.

Great place to eat. Usually crowded and there’s a reason why. I’m at about a 4.25 star on this place. The biggest common complaint would be that their food isn’t restocked fast enough. I agree with that, but have come to accept it and still frequently visit. Here’s why I love this place: 1) Fast. You walk in, get your food and sit down. No wait. 2) Priced well. It’s like $ 12 or so for a full meal, drink, and banana pudding– sign me up! 3) Awesome service. Usually I’ve had the same very sweet lady.

Went on a Sunday afternoon– place was packed, which is an indicator of good food and service. I normally am not a big fan of buffets, but Wray’s seems to do the buffet thing pretty well— food was kept hot and well-stocked. I had the catfish fillets– they were thin(how I like them) and pretty tasty. Next time I’ll have to try the whole fish. They also had fried pork chops and what looked to be hamburger steak on the buffet. All of the kinds of sides and vegetables that you’d expect. Delivered banana pudding to the table and it was pretty good. Also noticed they have $ 2.50 beers on the menu!

Visited this establishment in August ’11. Service was fine, food not so hot. Maybe I went at the wrong time of the evening but they did not replenish the catfish on the buffet the entire time I was there.
