Now THAT was a ghoulishly good time!
If you can grin and bear the long lines, this can be a very good time especially with a manageable group of friends. While the Hayride was very stupid and boring and the haunted 3D house thing was underwhelming, the haunted trail was super gnarly. Next time we think about going there, we will definitely participate in that only instead of the other things.
There is a massive amounts of concessions for sale (yes they take credit cards) and there are plenty of bonfires around to keep you warm.
My biggest gripe was the DJ. I hated the fact that the staff spend all this time getting ready to scare people with all that make up and such but I could hear «Stanky Leg» blaring from afar… Still a very tasteful activity for people. The group I was with had a very good time. And I was super happy that they were happy.

Fun night with friends. Nothing really too scary. The 3D room was the best.
I would do this every couple years but not every year.
The mega pass to do everything is the best choice but it’s honestly way overpriced.
Go early and get the fast pass!

The expectations were really high, and the reality was very low. Especially, the paintball section; you just sat in a trailer that was pulled around in a circle — lame!

I bought a deal on Living Social for 2. Comes with all 4 attractions, fast past and a concession pass and valid on any day that it’s open. All for $ 97.
I came here the day after Halloween on a Sunday. The feeling of walking in reminded me being at a music festival. They have a DJ playing music all night. Which was cool.
I got on the Hayride first. I wasn’t expecting much from it but I had a great time! It was scary and funny at the same time.
3D Haunted House was next. I don’t get what was 3D about it. No 3D glasses were offered. Ok? We walked in alone and I’m not even kidding. Walking through the whole house, I only saw 4 people. Once actually scared me, well creeped me out. He followed me all the way out. He would not let my boyfriend get near me. Which made that scary haha. The décor and walls were graffiti clown house like. That was impressing. Whoever does the art work, great job! More like art show for me. I was walking slow looking at the art more of anything. Needs improvement. More staff?
Bön Fire and the staff in the concession pass were very kind! Didn’t rush is and answered all our questions about the menu. Only problem… My was about to drink his deer park water bottle he bought from there… When he realized it was already open. He went back to return it… And they told him they don’t sell those bottles! That was gross. So they gave him a new bottle. Their water bottles are specially packaged and labeled with «Field of Screams» logo. The crew to keep the bonfire going did a great job to keep the fire up! Big bonfire in the middle. We bought s’mores, funnel cake, hot apple cider and hot chocolate.
Paintball Apocalypse was shut down because they ran out of paintballs. Boooo.
Haunted Trail was pretty cool. Took about 30 mins to finish. There were groups that went way ahead of us and we were passing them on the trail.
Would I come back here? No.
Way over priced. Go to a local haunted house where they charge $ 10-​$ 20 for a haunted house or a trail which is ACTUALLY scary. I’m a puss when it comes to stuff like this. I only got scared 3 times total. I wanted to get scared that I was in the very front going through everything! It was more fun than scary. Way under staff for the attractions. The ones that actually cared and tried scaring you, props to ya. The lazy ones, stay home!
Not worth the money and the drive.
Go to Kings Dominion or something local.
I get you might’ve been working all night but the staff at the gate to get your tickets. Come on, no need to be so damn rude. You guys act like I kicked your damn dog.

I just wanted to share my experience with you. Last weekend my wife, her two friends and I went to this event and probably had the worst Halloween ever. We bought these tickets on Groupon since we read good reviews and felt like there was great value in getting all 4 attractions and a «fast pass» all in one great price. That’s where the value ended.
We arrived at 6:30pm to make sure we got there before the rush but that didn’t really work. This whole event was not designed to handle as many people that were there that night. You definitely oversold and were extremely under staffed. We waited 40 minutes to get on the Hayride, which wouldn’t have been considered long if we didn’t have this «fast pass». The whole fast pass thing was a complete joke as there were more people with it than without it. On that ride there was a 6 year old (African American) girl that was fearing for her life. She was crying the entire ride and was just waiting for it to end. Well towards the end when we got near the chain saws there were a bunch of young caucasian boys that played the role of some country white trash farmer serial killers that decided to take it too far. One guy went up to the little girl and screamed «SHUT UP» at her multiple times. I was in disbelief. And then there was another mid twenties girl that said «get out of my face» to another guy and he picked up some hay and threw it at her. I really wonder if they were truly racist white guys using the costume to let out their anger. So now the Hayride already left a bad taste in my mouth.
We were going to head straight to the Haunted Trail next but decided to hop in the Paintball Zombie attraction first since we saw a very short line. Well we missed the «fast pass» line and ended up going into the regular line. There were about 20 people in the regular line so you would think it would still be fast but we ended up waiting over an hour AND STILL DIDN’T GET TO GO ON THE RIDE. I went to check on the fast pass line and by now it was 3 times as long as the regular line. Also the sign didn’t even say what attraction it was for. It was a tiny skeleton that said Fast Pass Here. The reason we didn’t see it the first time was because it was so poorly lit and there were no people in line so we didn’t even know it was a line. It wasn’t until we saw the overwhelming line that we knew. By this time we were stuck in a rut, an hour wait with about 15 people in front of us or go to the back of a fast past line with 45+ people in front of us. Well we waited another 15 minutes and the line did not move and inch so we abandoned it altogether.
We then decided to go on the Haunted Trail and had a feeling this would be our last attraction. The line for the 3D house was RIDICULOUS. We got to the park at 6:30 and it’s now 9pm and we only have 1 attraction done out of the 4 we paid for. So we get in line and the Police officer has us get into the fast pass line on the right. We notice a group that got in line after us and were waiting in the regular line on the left. Well that group and everyone else got to the front of the line before us. THE REGULAR LINE WAS MOVING FASTER THAN THE FAST PASS LINE. By now my wife, her friends and I are all furious and realize this whole thing is so poorly managed. They try to put us into groups and give a buffer in between groups but there are huge bottlenecks throughout the trail and then you have kids running to catch up with the next group because they are scared. So halfway through the trail I’m actually back in line again with about 20 people in front of me and 20 people behind. It was never a scary experience but now it’s ruined my aesthetic experience because I was inching through each maze, not able to really appreciate the design. Also, everything was so poorly lit that you couldn’t even see half of the props they implemented throughout the trail. And what the heck is up with the 1 maze that was pitch black all the way through? It was a safety hazard at best, and there wasn’t even a staff member to scare anyone so it was literally a huge bottleneck in the trail.
After we finished the trail we were sitting around 10pm with only 2 attractions completed. That’s an average of 1 hour and 45 minutes per attraction of which an hour and a half would be wait time (with fast pass).
So in the end we had a terrible experience, were ripped off because we only got to use 2 out of the 4 attractions we paid for, and you have a serious problem with your staff members made up of a bunch of high school kids that would rather be doing something else on a Saturday night. I will be sharing this experience on Unilocal and writing a complaint to Groupon as well. I hope you take my feedback seriously and make some changes for the following year.

This review is for the Haunted Paintball. It was simply TERRIBLE! It lasted no more than 5 minutes. I fired maybe 30 paintballs before I ran out and that was it. No way to reload. The people don’t come anywhere near you either, so you don’t get up close with them. You are on this double decker «bus» thing being hauled by a tractor. DO NOT DO THIS, IT’s NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. What a disappointment after waiting an hour in line.

Get here early start with the trail and work your way down!!!
This place wasn’t super scary (I don’t scare easily) but it was a ton of fun! I went with a group of 5 and we got the total terror package through groupon so price wise it wasn’t to bad! This place was well put together and the attractions were pretty entertaining!

What’s Halloween without a Haunted House?! We researched Haunted Houses/​Trails in the area and decided on Field of Screams after seeing it on Groupon for $ 47. There was a Halloween promo going on for 20% off, so the ticket ended up being $ 38 for access to all four attractions.
First we signed our lives away on the waiver and then hit the concessions bar because we were hungry! Skip this unless you want the fried oreos, water or smores to make on the bonfire. The ticket offered $ 2 of our purchase. There is a Popeyes up the street. I strongly advise that you stop before or eat at home.
We went on the Haunted Trail First and this was fun. I was actually a little scared. I’m lying I was SCARED. We only waited a few minutes because the ticket included Fast Pass access. The trail is extreme dark! You will be walking through the woods and it is muddy. If you should bring a small flash light and wear old boots. We ventured through many small spooky shacks with people popping up along the way. This trail takes about 20 minutes.
Next we tried the Zombie Paintball. The line was very long for this and we waited more than an hour! The regular line was actually faster than the Fast Pass. When we finally got up there we boarded a two leveled shuttle with painted guns. We went to three areas to shoot and then we were done. What??? This could have been great but it was over too quickly and needs improvement. This would be the area to skip.
We moved on to the Hayride and this was great. There were zombies and scary people popping our all over the place and jumping on the hay.
Lastly we went to the 3D Haunted House and this was also cool. The house was illuminated with the 3D glasses and the bridge at the end had me trippin!
Our group had fun! If you go with friends you will have a good time. I took off stars for the Zombie Paintball and Concessions. If you get a discount ticket go, otherwise… find something less expensive.

Waste of money. you wait 30 minutes in line just to get tickets. then you wait about 2 hours for each event. and they are not even that scary

I am not scared at all. Literally, I am more afraid of Chucky. The first attraction, Haunted House, was in 3D. 3ft leprechauns everywhere. I felt like Shaq walking through. I was like umm little people pump no fear in my heart. Next, the hay ride. There were so many failed opportunities there. They should have regrouped and planned better «jump out» moments. Afterwards, we went to the trail. This was the best part. The trail featured several paths, caves, a slide, and a haunted tavern. This is the ONLY attraction I would repeat. I waited in line for paintball but that line was RIDICULOUS! I had a great time with my people BUT the event planners need to step up.

I have been to just about every Haunted House on the east coast in the past 25 years so I feel i am very qualified to review these attractions. I will review all that i have been to so look for my reviews everywhere. I plan my OCT each year around haunted Houses. I am very fair in my reviews as well and feel they are accurate. Don’t get this one confused with Field of Screams in PA, because that field of screams is WAAAAY better. This one isn’t that bad, the problem is,… it isn’t that good either.
My expectations were super low for this attraction so that may have factored into my generous 3 stars. I had just visited their other attraction in Washington DC a week earlier which was literally one of the worst attractions i have been to in my life. I have visited volunteer firehouse attractions that were better, But I digress.
They have 4 attractions here, but just discount zombie paintball right off the bat, they take you to 5 stations to shoot 1 load of paintballs, not even entirely filled. Two of the stations have just objects with no actors and the other three have people that just walk super slow towards you. Pretty boring especially if you have played actual paintball.
The Hay ride was below average, it was just a bunch of shacks with a couple actors in it. Nothing exciting at all, i like high tech mixed with actors and everything about this was not even close to high tech or state of the art.
The 3d clown house was also pretty boring just being another bunch of rooms with a couple actors. It seems like they sink no money into trying to make this better but yet charge $ 45 a ticket. I didnt see one new thing that i had not seen a hundred other times, and to be quite frank i am tiring of the clown theme in general. Come on its een twenty years someone come up with something new or if you are going to do a clown theme make it good.
Lastly was the trail which i will say was pretty long, so that was good. They incorporated a slide mid way through that was fairly long with someone at the bottom who actually made me jump so a big plus there. I had only seen one other slide in a haunted attraction before so it was a pleasant surprise. The trail ran in and out of small buildings and one cave section which i thought was decent. maybe one of the better Trails i have been on but still very very low tech.
All in all these Steelhead production guys who run Scream city and Field of Screams need to re evaluate state of the art as they claim and realize they are behind the times. They do a great job at making a web site to make you believe it will be amazing but both fall short. Especially scream city.
Overall, way way overpriced and not much bang for the buck. If you dont feel like driving to a good one and have extra cash to spend then check it out.

Love the trail and the 3D haunted house, hayride was fun, but I could do without the paintball apocalypse. They have a nice variety of food available for purchase. I enjoyed the funnel cake and soft pretzel.

For two tickets to the haunted trail (ONLY) with fast passes you’re paying around 84 dollars. For that kind of money, one would expect a haunted house/​trail with quality attractions and staff/​actors who care about what they’re doing. False. I counted 3 times THREE TIMES on Saturday night (10÷17÷15) during our walk through the haunted trail where their mostly teenage staff/​actors was on their cell phones and had to hurry up and run to get into position and by that point, the experience was ruined. One actor/​staff member was having a phone conversation right in the middle of the trail and completely ignored our group as we were walking through. Where in the hell is management? Tell your staff to leave their cellphones in their cars. Also, tell your staff to actually dress up. Several actors were only wearing jeans and a hoodie with only a little bit of face paint. How scary.
I didn’t have a problem with with trail and the attractions in general, although some were poorly built. I don’t know how you can throw a couple sheets of plywood together, spray paint it with graffiti and call it a Fun House.
I didn’t do the haunted house or the hayride (tickets sold separately, or with a package that ranges between 40 — 60 dollars), but if it was anything like their main attraction, don’t waste your money until a.) the actors take their job more seriously and b.) the organizers put more money into their attractions. With the cost of tickets and how busy it was Saturday night, these guys are making bank. They need to stop pocketing it and actually give a damn about their product.

More like a high school party than a haunted attraction. After waiting 45 minutes to get in, the place was mobbed with teenagers. I get the sense this is a place that parents drop their kids off then come back to pick them up after they’re done being malicious little devils. We paid $ 75 a person for the all inclusive pass along with the «fast» pass. The «fast» pass lines were close to two hours long for several of the attractions. I’m not sure how the DJ blaring Lil Wayne really tied into a haunted experience either. Watching the ghetto dance off in the middle of a field was pretty scary I guess. The whole event reminded me of a cheap high school party in someone’s back yard. Due to the length of the lines, we could only see one attraction. I only give it two stars because the 3D house was decent. If you are over the age of 17, I would steer clear.

Total rip off! Would have been decent had there been enough staff to actually scare patrons. Waited 3 hours to have 3 people jump out in an attempt to scare us.

so, this was my first time visiting «Field of Screams» and I must say it is pretty damn awesome! From the scattered bonfires to the zombies in the cornfields! (I think those were zombies) lol! Who doesn’t like zombies! My personal fav was the rooms that glow and jump out at you! Now how bada$$ is that! I took some great instagram worthy pictures in there!
My favorite characters were the the morbid looking doll in the 3D house and the killer in the woods who made the jeepers creepers sound! Eeeeek!!!
Lets just say its a great way to spend an evening… oh! did I mention the hot apple cider and warm yummy fries!!! Delish!

Field of Screams Maryland was great! We loved all of the attractions except for the Zombie Paintball. The Haunted Trail is much longer and very well done then we were expecting. The concession stand is reasonably priced, the fried Oreos were excellent, and the s’mores is an excellent idea — there are fires for people to make the s’mores themselves.
If you go (which I recommend! skip the long line (even with a fast pass) for the Zombie Paintball — its nothing exciting.

I found a deal on LivingSocial for a fast pass that included all four attractions and two dollars for food. When we arrived the place opened about an hour late because of thunderstorms but no rain, and that’s a good thing because it shows that they care about safety. It’s took us way too long to check in with our passes and get through and get in line.
The fast pass was probably the slowest line because 99% of the people were using fast pass and the people that paid full price in person for the regular pass got the best deal.
The hayride was OK and a little bit muddy and they could’ve put down more hay. It was more boring than scary and made me feel like I was wasting my money. The best part about the ride I was probably one I slipped while getting off and got covered in mud. They want to scaring or entertaining, a little too predictable and boring.
We decided to go to the paintball attraction next. My brother really enjoyed painful but I thought it was really stupid because it wasn’t anything original or boring in a little too easy. The way I saw it is they got overdressed, we shot at zombies and sometimes recoil came back at us and it ended nothing memorable about this thing. This ride would be safer if they weren’t using cheap paintballs.
We went to the 3-​D haunted house next which was great because it made my brother feel suffocated and scare the crap out of him. No spoiler alerts here because you should check it out.
The trail was OK bunch of slow and boring groups which took all the fun out of it. They were a little too easy to see and probably should’ve worn more black than white so we couldn’t see them as easily at certain points.
Also they give you coupons or food but the dollar value was nowhere close to what you need to spend even get the cheapest item.

I had been to FOS once a few years ago and did the «Trail of Terror» and was scared (folks were coming out of the ground). You see, I do not like horror anything. So this was my second time going, but first doing all of the attractions. I decided I would purchase the Groupon for Field of Screams. You get the Terror Pack which includes all 4 attractions: Hades’s Hayride, Paintball Apocalypse, Lusion Manor and Trail of Terror, Fast Pass for only 3 attractions (Paintball excluded) and $ 2 towards food/​drink at the Concession Stand, all for $ 45 (normal cost $ 84).
Webster’s Dictionary explains the meaning of the word «scare». It says «to frighten especially suddenly». Through all of the attractions I did at Field of Screams, I would have to say that I was not scared… at all, and I scare easily. I am not going to go into details of what you experience on each of the attractions as you can get that on their website. However, if you are supposed to be in character for this attraction (for example a zombie or a monster), remain in character the entire time you are partaking in this — there are times where I saw folks dressed as monsters that look like they were chatting with each other and once they saw us, they went into character (not sure how that would scare me). Also if I see you in the distance and you are heading my way, not sure how you would scare me either — how about hiding behind something and then jump out at me with a «boo»…now that may scare me.
Even though our night was a bust, my friends and I made the best of the night — chatting with the folks who were trying their best to scare us, taking lots of silly pics and trying some of their concession food (yes the Deep Fried Oreos and Twinkies are the best). Not sure I will be back.
Tips:
If you arrive really early on a non-​busy night, you can purchase your tickets at the venue (no lines)
If you go on a non-​busy night, do not purchase the Fast Pass (not worth it). Reason: The Fast Pass line is always full of folks while the Non-​Fast Pass line has no one in it.

I’m a big wuss, so this review is probably not going to be the most accurate for those of you that are looking for a major scare. On a scale of 1 – 10, 1 being rainbows and unicorns and 10 being the depths of hell, I would say that Field of Screams is a solid 5. Granted, this is coming from someone that gets scared easily, so keep that in mind.
I came here this past weekend with a group of seven friends after purchasing a $ 45 Groupon for their Total Terror Pack, which retails for a steep $ 84 (eep!). The Total Terror packs gives you access to all their attractions — The Trail of Terror, Paintball Apocalypse, Lusion Manor, and Hades’s Haunted Hay Ride. You also get a Fast Pass, similar to the ones you get at Disney Land and $ 2 off at the concession stand. Here are my thoughts on each of their attractions.
+ THE TRAIL OF TERROR — You and your group walk through a long ass trail (about 40 minutes of walking/​running). There are mini haunted buildings/​houses sprinkled throughout the trail that you walk through. There are actors in costumes hidden throughout the houses/​buildings. These little exhibits are pretty elaborate. You can tell that they’ve put a lot of effort into design. There are also actors all throughout the trail. Some pop out at you, some just stand there and get in your way. A lot of people just laughed and kept walking while some were legitimately about to cry from being so scared. Just as a warning… if you’re claustrophobic I would avoid this attraction because at one point you’re confined in a pitch black maze-​like room that is very, very narrow!
+ LUSION MANOR — This attraction takes about 5 – 10 minutes to walk through. It’s your typical haunted house with actors spread all throughout to scare you. Some of them were very into their role… they had me pretty convinced.
+ PAINTBALL APOCALYPSE — This was definitely the most disappointing attraction! You are seated on an open air, double decker bus type vehicle with a gun and 1 load of ammo. They take you through 4 different areas — two being just target practice and two having actual zombies. Compared to the other attractions, this one wasn’t quite as elaborate, and I ended up feeling bad for the poor actors that were getting shot at all night X_​_​_​_​X
+ HADES’S HAUNTED HAY RIDE — Surprisingly fun. Definitely not your average hay ride. Once seated, you’re driven through a corn field. Stuff happens. I’m not gonna say much else because that’ll ruin the surprise (s)! :)
Some tips…
— Wear sneakers or shoes that you don’t care much about. Some parts of the area can get pretty muddy. The Trail of Terror also requires a lot of walking, especially on uneven footing.
— Prepare for long lines. When the crowds get crazy big, the Fast Pass honestly becomes useless. We only waited for about 3 – 4 minutes to get into the Lusion Manor, but ended up waiting 40+ minutes for everything else.
$ 84 is a reallllllll steep price for admission. I did have fun, but I would only recommend coming if you’re able to get a really good deal like I did on Groupon.
