We provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages. Common conditions we treat include hypertension, diabetes, emphysema, depression, and obesity. We also provide well woman care and comprehensive physicals. By limiting our practice size, we have time to individualize care for each patient. We are able to personally contact consultants and coordinate care in a way that minimizes duplication of tests and out-​of-​pocket expenses. This level of coordination also results in healthier and happier patients.

Vantage Physicians, serving Olympia and surrounding areas since 2006, is a Direct Medical Practice: a unique and growing model of healthcare where the consumer pays the physician a direct monthly fee. This billing process reduces paperwork as well as the labor and waste involved in billing and rebilling insurance carriers. We are a full-​service family care, primary care and geriatric care clinic. We strive to get to know our patients well and provide personal services such as house calls, physician phone and email visits. We decided to become a concierge practice because the current medical system was not meeting the needs of our patients. The reason our doctors have chosen to work this way is to be able to spend more time with their patients. Not working with insurance companies is a great way to free up time otherwise spent doing insurance paperwork. Our standard appointment is 30 minutes long; up to 90 minutes if need be.

Business Owner

Dr. Samantha Ritchie is a board certified Family Physician who has lived in the Olympia area for over 20 years. She and her husband are in the «empty nest» stage of life, as their daughter recently left for college in southern California. Dr. Ritchie earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. She spent about 15 years working as a country doctor in McCleary. Dr. Ritchie has been honored by the Washington Rural Health Association, an organization that advocates for better rural health services, as its Outstanding Rural Health Practitioner for 2009. She has also taught at the Providence St. Peter Family Medicine Residency Program since its inception. She chose to join Vantage Physicians six years ago and loves being able to take the time needed with patients. Dr. Ritchie also uses her skills on trips with a nonprofit group called Friends of Haiti, bringing medical care to Haitians who would otherwise never see a doctor.
