Our Bargain Boutiques rely on donations from thoughtful individuals and businesses. Our donors give us fabulous merchandise which we can then offer at well-​below-​retail prices. More than 300 volunteers support the daily operations of the stores. 100% of net proceeds benefit Seattle Children’s.

History

Established in 1999.

This Bargain Boutique started in 1999 by 2 wonderful guild members with support from Seatle Children’s. It started in Downtown Olympia, moved to the West Side on Capital Mall Dr and then to our current location on Harrison Ave. This location currently has over 60 active volunteers and supporting our mission.

This thrift store used to be so interesting, now it has a pretentious atmosphere & has items that are priced really high for plain old used clothing and odds and ends. Plus, what happened to the nice women that used to volunteer in the store? I walked in yesterday and they were snobbish & watched me as if I were going to steal something… ! Ugh, I won’t go back. What a bad place with a bad vibe!

This has to be the worst thrift shop in town. I stopped by with a friend and upon entering thought perhaps I was going back in time to the 80’s. There was a weird Garfield collection at the front of the store. I chuckled and kept going but honestly I dont think there was one thing in the store that was even remotely interesting to me besides the couch I was looking at. It was a nice couch and I asked how much and I was told, ahem… wait for it, cough cough…2, 400.00! Seriously! What the heck!
They had some coach purses that were over 100.00. The clothes were all very old fashioned like something someone in their 70’s would wear. Book selection was odd as well.
The smell was odd in the store, and the store itself is very very small.
The prices were very high as well. I know it is for charity but come on.
I don’t plan on ever going back.

I have to totally agree with Yuri on this one. This is the quickest I’ve been in and out of a «thrift store».
It’s moderately new because you can still smell the fresh wood smell. I was somewhat surprised by the table of Garfield and Garfield items as you enter. Don’t get me wrong. I used to love Garfield… like 20 years ago. I guess it’s a table of nostalgia.
The general layout is just odd and it’s kind of standing room only. There is no selection and what is actually there is not well priced.
I don’t know why they don’t buy the extra space next to Spin Tees and expand so it’s not so cramped.
I will just say this store is too small to even attempt to be a thrift store. I think they also could have found a better location, especially when Goodwill is right down the street. Also, don’t get me wrong about charity. I appreciate what the efforts are going toward, but sadly I won’t be back.

This is a smaller thrift store but you can find a gem and even a bargain if you take a peek once in a while! I like how they have percentage off sales by the color of the tag. The staff is really nice and it’s a good feeling knowing you are helping the Seattle Childrens hospital!

I love Seattle Children’s Hospital but I do NOT love their «Bargain Boutique». It is very strange.
Strange items — hello corner of Garfield the Cat paraphernalia and «vintage» clothing that really isn’t hip enough for this town.
Strange signage — its nearly impossible to see it from the road and the pricing system is confusing.
Strange customer service — the number of sales people equalled the number of customers yet I wandered around for 10 minutes with out even a greeting.
Strange prices — very overpriced on some items, just ok on others.
Strange smell — so this is typical for thrift stores, but for those prices it should at least smell not totally stale and weird!
Honestly, if you want to support non-​profits that do good work and pay a decent price you are better off going up the road to Goodwill.
