History

Established in 2015.

According to Google, Abacus is a word derived from the Greeks and means a slab or drawing board. In late middle-​English, the Abacus came to mean a board strewn with sand on which to draw figures. At Abacus Evaluations, Abacus has come to mean a chance for you to «Multiply your Strengths» through developing a plan (the figures), to help you accomplish your future goals.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Steven R. Durant, AAS, LADC is founder and owner of Abacus Evaluations. His education includes an Associates of Applied Science in Chemical Dependency Counseling from Metropolitan Community College. He has completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Health and a minor in Gerontology through the University Nebraska at Omaha December 2015. Future plans include entering the Master’s of Counseling program at UNO. Steven’s work experience includes three internships, three years as a provisionally licensed Outpatient Counselor, and one year as a Program Coordinator. During that time Steven was able to develop skills in Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Substance abuse evaluations «are my passion, it is the beginning of change for most people, an opportunity to see what is working in life, and what is not.» Abacus Evaluations opened February 1, 2015.
