The guys at BBP are always top notch. Not complete douches like some places around town can be. Their work is exceptional, which is the true reason to stop by and see these dudes. Jason does top notch black and grey and my half sleeve is looking tight. Best of Omaha, can’t argue with that.

The front desk is absolutely helpful. Get your ink and piercings here. Seth Agar was my guy for Polynesian tatts. Smitty, the owner, does great dermals as well. Go for it.

Went in for a piercing recently and was very impressed with the professionalism of the entire staff but especially my piercer. Dave put me at ease as soon as I walked in and did a great job on my piercings. He also discussed another piercing I wanted to get and instead of selling the piercing, he helped me make the right decision for me — which at the moment was not to get this particular piercing. I will definitely go back again if I need additional work done.

I have been pierced and tattooed here. My piercing turned out amazing and was done fast and clean. Dave, their piercer is friendly and knows his stuff. He makes you feel comfortable. My artist Justin was very quiet, none the less he did good work. Another artist there Josh, can be hit or miss. My work from him was good but some of his Instagram photos are tattoos I would not want. All in all, their staff is funny and friendly and makes for a good experience

I got two tattoo from them and both time was a great experience. I live out of town now but still send people there. I would highly recommend them.

I’ve gotten technically 2 tattoos here but the second one was just expanding the first.
I honestly forget who did them since this was 8 years ago, but the color is still vibrant and solid on them and the experience (my first tattoo) was pretty good. The guy who did them was kind and It really didn’t hurt. Maybe that was due to the fact it’s on my upper shoulder? Who knows.
My ONLY complaint is the price. the first one was the flower itself he charged me $ 80 for it, I dunno if he cut me a deal because he felt sorry for me or what but when I went back to have my husband’s name and 3 lines added he changed me another $ 80 saying it was a fair price.
Overall I’m happy with my experience and would consider going back if I ever get another tattoo.

Went in for my tragus piercing. Dave was quick and super friendly! My friend and I both went in for her ears and I for my tragus. We were in and out of the shop within 20 minutes for the both of us. The place was clean and my piercing as well as my friends didn’t hurt a bit. Dave told us if he hurt us he isn’t doing his job correctly! Dave is not only a pro but the friendliest guy at a shop I’ve meet! I would go back to him for future piercings and now will recommend him to others! Thanks Dave!

Great group of guys that work there! You’ll get amazing work from anyone who works there. Dave and smitty are awesome piercers, and the quality of tattoo work from this shop is top notch. Big Brain is my best friend and I’s go to place for tattoos and piercings. They have such professional, friendly, and outstanding staff. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.
Reasons to go to Big Brain:
1. It’s extremely cleanly. All piercing and tattoo utensils are clean/​nicely packaged in sealed packages prior to use.
2. FRIENDLY AMAZING STAFF! Kudos.
3. Very well informed and helpful.
4. Reasonably priced and have specials for piercings every once in awhile. Love their $ 20 any piercing specials.
5. Did I mention the amazing staff whom are well trained and professional!
I have gotten several dermals and ear piercings here over the past several years. My dermals have stayed put and my dermal on my right arm only fell out because I got it snagged on a glove, but if you keep the dermal, they will happily clean it for you and then in 24 hours, you can come back to get it repierced. Love that they do this, but unfortunately, I have lost my dermals … and haven’t been able to find them. Hehe, whoops…

I’ve gotten a tattoo and a piercing here and they are one of the best known shops in Omaha. They recently remodeled and the place looks great. Make sure to make an appointment if you are wanting a tattoo. Piercing need no appointment.
I came in to get a very tricky piercing changed out. I have a daith piercing and I am not able to change it myself. The piercer guy does it for free, though I always leave a tip.

Got my 6^th tattoo done here yesterday… I had the artist Jason Morrow do the Cobra symbol from GI Joe… after a few minutes of looking through the computer of the various options, we settled on one and got to work… about an hour and a half later I got what I consider a damn fine tattoo… it came out totally perfect and I’m very happy with the whole process… and the price was surprisingly reasonable especially considering I thought it’d be more… the whole experience was a good one and I very much look forward to coming back here for more work…

Had an absolutely amazing experience at Big Brain!
My mom and I walked in to get quotes about how much matching tattoos for our feet would be. They were incredibly flexible and offered to get Mom and I in that night, but since mom had had one glass of wine at dinner they were not willing to tattoo us since mom was not free of ‘substance.” We scheduled an appointment for the next night, whenever we wanted to come in. After arriving we waited less than ten minutes before being called back. The tattoo artist we worked with (I think his name was Brian or Nick — tattoo artist in residence at big brain) took plenty of time to talk us through what was going to happen, warn us about the high probability of pain at the tattoo site. He worked quickly and efficiently all the while distracting us by telling us how he got interested in tattooing and telling us about his family back at home (he even showed us pictures of his adorable young son). Both my mom and I had our tattoos completed wrapped and our shoes back on in 20 minutes. Amazing! Unfortunately, I was wearing Birkenstocks flip flops when my tattoo started peeling and I was in the middle of moving back to my sorority house in Seattle so switching shoes was not an immediate option. To my dismay my new tattoo had some major fading issues. I visited a few tattoo parlor in the surrounding area of my school, and in order for them to just do a touch up they were going to charge me $ 60. This was ¾ of what my original tattoo cost… so that was just not going to happen. I came home, and stopped by Big Brain to see if they could help me out. They got me back to a different tattoo artist within 10 — 15 minutes of walking through the door. The new tattoo artist was not nearly as friendly or talkative (he even made a comment that I needed to shut up… awk). This time through the tattoo process was WAY more painful (not sure if re-​inking is generally more painful, but I figured I should include that). I thanked him profusely, and

I was online looking at something on Facebook and saw someone had liked Big Brain’s facebook page. I took a look. They’re located in downtown Omaha, NE. I live in New York but still have family in NE and knew I was taking a trip there in about 4 months. I looked at all their artists and every single one was amazingly talented. I ignored reviews I have seen about rude employees. THANK GOD I DID.
They were amazing! I was able to communicate with the shop via email from New York. I typed up a description of my idea, sent pictures, made my deposit, and got a pretty reasonable quote for only showing emailed pictures to them.
Finally, I was in Nebraska, got to Omaha and walked in. A building with high ceilings, awards decorating the walls for best tattoo shop, and ipads everywhere to look at previously done work.
Brian Mojesik did my tattoo, a hummingbird and honey suckle on my back shoulder about the size of my entire hand. HE WAS AMAZING. He had my pictures printed out. And had books of hummingbirds out and we went through and picked out some aspects I liked and he free handed it on me. The experience was amazing and my tattoo is still gorgeous beyond compare a year later. I receive compliments on it every time people see it.
The pain was worth it. He had a cool station and provided sick music and good conversation. An awesome tattoo artist, an awesome shop, and awesome work.
If you want a good tattoo, go to Big Brain. You pay for the best! I hope to get to leave New York to travel to Omaha soon for another one!

Well holy crap! I’m very tattooed and have been in hundreds of shops all over the us and I was impressed with this one. Its sergiclly clean. And the goofy looking dude in the back (Dominick) impressed me enough with his work, I’ve got an appt this week! Watching him grind on some skinny chicks ribs long enough to see he has really got talent. Her squirming was minimal. She seemed as relaxed as one can be when getting ribs done. It wasn’t swelling or bleeding like I’ve seen tattoos on a boney parts. I’m excited!

For piercing, I give them 5 stars (I’ve had my nose done twice through no fault of theirs, my orbital completed, and my nipples done). They’re professional, friendly, and have usually given me a pretty sweet discount. Smitty, and one of his apprentices (sorry I don’t remember your name) are my faves.
For tattoos, Mel gets a 3. I was really disappointed that, because she was gone for about a month, rather than looking at the drawing I brought, or talking to me, they looked in their picture database for something to base the tattoo off of (so that I had to keep saying, yeah, sort of like that, but more like the drawing I brought). I’m used to CUSTOM artwork, especially for the prices they charge (which aren’t unreasonable, but not a great deal). Then, she scarred me in two different places. To be fair, the tattoo isn’t awful, I can live with it. But I won’t go back to her again.

When I worked downtown I got to know some of the guys here and so I got a tattoo when I was 18. At the time I was obviously thrilled… now that I know a little more about the process I suspect that I was tattooed by someone still learning… which, maybe I should have been told upfront. But like I said, when I was 18 I probably wouldn’t have cared anyway.
Long story short, that particular tattoo is visibly raised up from those around it (which I’ve gotten since then). Did it not heal right, is it the result of the ultra heavy lines and tons of black ink it contains? Who knows, all I know is that I was impressed at the time… not so much now but I definitely don’t regret it.
I don’t really have any other experience or insight (that I can remember) about BB and have heard good things about them since.
That being said, everyone has different taste. So visit a couple of shops and talk with various artists until you find someone who fits in with your taste and can meet your needs.
