Do not rent from these people. They try to keep security deposits for reasons other than damage or loss due to rent. The manager is very difficult to deal with and is constantly paranoid. She blames you and sends you threatening emails. She sent emails to me to vacate the apartment 2 weeks early while I was on business trip. Luckily I had a friend with a spare key clear my apartment out before they threw everything out like they said they would. Ridiculously crazy… I don’t think they are cut out to be landlords.

Worst landlords ever! I’m a 34 year old professional with a long history of positive rental experiences and I have never been so shocked and disappointed with a landlord. These landlords broke the law repeatedly by demanding I evacuate my apartment with no notice because the new tenant wanted to move in early, repeatedly entering my apartment without providing notice, and then keeping my security deposit of $ 895. I literally had to send a friend over to my apartment while I was on a business trip to move all of my things out because they threatened to remove my things for me. This was all several weeks before the negotiated move-​out date (a negotiated date that I had been really flexible about, agreeing to leave my apartment before the end of the month/​end of the lease term).
I recommend checking the filtered reviews, too. And for any of you out there whose security deposits were also illegally kept by MY, feel free to contact me. I filed a claim in small claims court and can pass along info regarding how I did that. It is really easy to do, filing fee is only $ 26, and you do not need a lawyer.

I lived in one the CM’s properties for 1.5 years and I would rent from them again. I found the maintenance crew and newly appointed leasing manager, Jen, to be the best part of the rental agreement. Marco, the maintenance guy is always super friendly, prompt and extremely helpful. Seriously, he will go out of his way to do anything for you. As for the leasing manager, Jen, well, she is the best thing that could have happened to CM. She is professional, extremely fair and very quick to meet the tenants needs and concerns. She, too, is always easy to contact and reason with. The owner was always reasonable with rent negotiations and apartment upgrades. The only downside to the apartment I was in, was noise. It was a large old house with four apartments and I could hear a lot of my neighbors activity. The thing I learned though was good communication usually resolved the issue.
As said before, I would rent from them again and certainly recommend them to others.

BEWARE! DO NOT RENT. I lived in one of her Dundee apartments. All apartments are clean upon viewing, but maintenance is very poor. Ours had mice and Bats. There was a leak in the roof that took 10 e-​mails and countless phone calls to get fixed after ruining our couch. This took 1 month to fix after a threat of rent reduction. I now several people that have rented from her and did not get there housing deposits back after hiring professional cleaners. You will not clean to her specifications. I am very clean but it is impossible to clean an old house. My is very rude to her tenants and very disrespectful. I was warned before I rented but decided to rent anyway. Don’t make my mistake.

Lived in one of their duplexes for about a year.
Generally the staff is nice, but maintenance can be slow and uncooperative, especially when its something off-​hours.
If you are renting in the midtown area, be aware that there is a pretty bad rat infestation in the area, we had something living in our duplex, we found out about rats. Scary considering we complained for 4 months and only when we were moving out did they decide to do something about the problem.
Pet policy is very strict, and the move-​out policy is crazy.
