Overpriced for what you get. With a 77% acceptance rate how «competitive» can this be? Administratively it seems greatly disorganized.

A superb education with actual and real contact with caring professors. I will be forever grateful for my experiences. CU was the first law school to accept Jews without quotas, a Jesuit Catholic school.

It’s a little weird to review a university on Unilocal (there are many more legit sources to look into your college career with people…) but I will say the campus is beautiful, the people are welcoming, and they are expanding to become bigger and better than ever. I spent my undergrad years here and couldn’t have had a better experience.
I enjoyed 4 years of growth-​mentally, spiritually, and got to have my «college experience» at the same time. It will always hold a special place in my heart. As I’ve now been away for a good number of years (eek reunion right around the corner!!) I still like to come and visit the campus when I can. Nostalgia!

I know my friends that go to Creighton will eventually look up the school on Unilocal,see this review and then give me shit for it later. That’s fine. Because I’m the one who left anyway, and they’re the ones who are stuck there. (AKA: I stopped complaining and did something about it, and they’re still there… Sorry I’m not sorry.) I write this review with mixed feelings, though for me to be generous about Creighton is kind of odd… Considering that during my last year there before I transferred out, I did manage to yell at every tour group, «Get out while you still can!» or «This place sucks!» etc, etc. I will also say that this school is perfect for some people. I’m just not one of those people, which is why I’m NOT here anymore.
For what it’s worth, I met a lot of people at Creighton that I genuinely love to death and are still my best friends to this day. When people tell you the friends you make in college are the ones who will stay with you throughout your life– they are right. I love them to death, and I couldn’t have asked for it any other way. The only reason I’m actually giving it three stars is because how tight-​knit the community is, especially in a dorm like Gallagher Hall. I guess it’s because Gallagher was such a little craphole that we all bonded over the fact that we lived in such a nasty place. The things that happened in Gallagher, I cannot even begin to describe. But since this IS a Unilocal Review, I might as well do it: 1) Dead snakes. Oh, and apparently live snakes the year after. Woooo! 2) Constantly broken/​running showers with weird water pressure. (Though, Gallagher is the oldest dorm on campus/hasn’t been renovated in years. Get over it?) 3) Mice. Mice everywhere. My friends had a huge mouse problem in their room. 4) Mold. Yuck. 5) Broken things constantly bleh. I mean, that’s just what happened in Gallagher. But I hear they’re renovating it now because it’s such a ~historical landmark~ to the Creighton community. Awesome.
Okay, moving on… Administration here is kind of a joke. The bureaucracy of the entire establishment is frustrating. Too much paperwork and running around. They really need to update the system, and use a system that will allow for a ‘wait list,’ because having to override everyone in is a pain in the derrière. Classes are EXTREMELY difficult to get into without having to beg teachers, and they will shut off the override if you don’t ask before a certain time. (Tip: Especially if you’re in the Psychology department, ask for an override while the seniors are registering.) Basically, I got lucky because I was driven and crazy enough to watch the classes like a damn hawk. Teachers are hit or miss, depending on the department. However, the majority of them are experts in their field. And for that, I give Creighton a +1. As a Psychology major, my department was actually… pretty amazing. Excellent professors who I actually learned from and are challenging! I sometimes scratched my head and wondered why they were stuck here at Creighton but hey! To each his/​her own. There are some departments here that are just too large (cough, Psychology and Sciences) that have an amazing staff and program– but there are not enough resources to house and accomodate the students correctly. They need to either hire more staff and open more classes and make more sections, or they need to allow a higher cap for classes and open them up to more people.
Also, the core here sucks. If you want to finish in four years here, and be able to add on a minor or another major– good luck. The core is unnecessarily extensive, and doesn’t allow for much diversity. Most Jesuit schools have pretty lengthy cores, but Creighton’s idea of the core kind of beats it into you. I mostly had a problem with the religion core– they either need to offer more diversity with their religious core (other Jesuit schools with this requirement offer classes on Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.) or they need to cut the core for this in half.
I could say other things about the school, like the lack of diversity (don’t let them fool you, diversity here mostly comes from the fact that a majority of their students come from Hawaii), and the types of people that come here. But it doesn’t really have to do with the actual school itself, so I won’t mention those things.
TL;DR: Visit the school before you attend. It’s worth it if you’re into pre-​professional careers and know you have the grades for it. Other than that, it’s a pretty good school with the usual flaws, but it wasn’t for me. The end.
