Description

Specialties

I specialize in helping people suffering from discrimination, family rejection and identity issues due to their LGBTQIA status, particularly transgender persons. I have been working with the transgender population for over 20 years, counseling significant others and collaborating with endocrinologists and surgeons. Whether you have long been feeling, «I’m trapped in the wrong body,» need a referral for hormones, have recently come out, or need support after GRS, I am here for you.

I have years of experience treating people with HIV/AIDS issues related to the emotional and physical impact of the diagnosis, and living with stigma and degrees of illness; I am funded through Ryan White and see clients from the UNMC AIDS Clinic.

I also specialize in treating adults/teenagers with depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, etc.

History

Established in 2010.

I opened my private practice in August 2010. I do not have a long waiting list and would love to schedule an appointment with you.

Business Owner

Are you depressed, stressed-out, feeling like life is out of control, and sometimes just like giving up on it all? You CAN live a happier and more fulfilling life. There is hope – at times like this, it’s important to have someone calm, supportive and understanding to help you work things out. I have over 20 years of experience as a therapist and my clients have varied widely. My style is collaborative, supportive, and compassionate. Along with «talk therapy,» I use biofeedback and relaxation therapy, and together, we can solve problems tohelp you and your loved ones lead a better life.

I have two Master’s degrees, one from the University of NE-Lincoln and the latter from the University of Kansas in 1986. I have been a licensed and certified mental health professional in NE since 1995. I take most forms of insurance, out of network, or private pay. I am a professional member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH.)
