Premier Pools and Spas

So after years of saving up my husband and i decided to finally work on our backyard… i always wanted to have a pool and after speaking with neighbors and lots and lots of research i picked premier… and in all honesty its because Frank our sales rep made us feel really comfortable from the very beginning. He was true to his word that he would be with us throughout the process as we needed him and he was. We started planning in late august and started digging in early October. We finished the project the first week of december. The only delay (about 1.5 weeks) was their shotcrete contractors norco business license had expired and so they need to get that resolved so the city could sign off to fill the pool with the final inspection… but they took care of it all for me.
With construction there are little things that happen throughout, and they did happen, dont get me wrong… they blew a fuse and we had to reset the power… but Josh (the sup for the job) was just a phone call away and was always friendly and helpful and walked me through fixing it.
The thing i did learn was really look at your plans and make sure they are 100% and dont hesitate to ask questions. Our gas lines were not in the spot we wanted it… but the gas guy was very kind and redid them for us. But it was a good learning for future construction jobs… as we are still working on our yard with other landscaping.
We got a 15×30 rectangle pool with mini pebble. and i love it. im so very happy with this purchase!
I would recommend them to friends that were looking for a pool, pricing was good and so was their service.

Apparently the company can send me emails but can’t find my name in their database. You need to rethink your motto as you pride yourself to providing exceptional customer service.

We CANNOT recommend Premier Pools from Ontario. In fact, we have told our neighbors and friends to stay away from this company. From start to finish, it was a complete disaster. We started with Premier in March 2015. Our pool was finally filled at the end of Jan. 2016. Sound ridiculous? You bet it was. When we started, we were told we’d be «dipping our toes in the water» by mid-​June. My kids were sadly disappointed as they saw their summer fade away and their backyard looking like a bomb went off in it.
I did do my homework and we were pleased with all the 5-​star Unilocal reviews that Premier had. We got Brian out here for a quote. He showed up, came back with some plans, then he never got back to us. We called and left messages for 2 weeks. Finally he called us to let us know that he’d been let go. You’d have thought Premier would follow through with the people their sales person was dealing with.
IN RESPONSE TO THE RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER: Yes, we did have contracts with the concrete guy and the rock guy. When you buy a pool with premier, you get 500 feet of concrete. THIS was one of the companies that Premier uses for concrete. We signed a contract to have him do MORE concrete for us. He is not separate from you. We also wanted rocks. Employees from Premier Pools recommended this guy to do the work. Employees from Premier met us and him at our house. Yes, we signed a contract with him. Premier should be monitoring these people and protecting their customers, not passing the blame onto them! Their work and actions reflect on your company. Your pool sign is in our front yard. It is made to seem from the response that we hired some random guys from Home Depot to do the job.
We had the outline of the pool drawn on the dirt but asked them to tuck the pool closer to the wall (3ft) before they dug. They moved the whole pool 3 ft closer but moved the reef step and spa an extra 5 ft. Then they spent all day pounding stakes in. The pool was not the shape we wanted! I had to run out in my pajamas at 8:15 to stop the bobcat. I had to pretty much handle the mess myself. It took another day to repound all those stakes and fix everything. This was mid-​June, when I was supposed to be «dipping my toes». I think this was also the day I met Josh the project manager. I thought, «awesome, someone to communicate with us and keep it running smoothly.» More like, someone to come pick up the checks and never answer text or phone calls. I literally had to tell him that I wasn’t giving him the check until he returned my husband’s texts/​phone call. His excuse… he changed his phone number. (ummm you think you could have let us know that? Dropped off a new business card? Texted us your new number?)
Our pool sat unfinished for months. But that wasn’t the only problem. Some highlights-​the shotcrete guys emptying their hoses on our front lawn and killing our grass, the truck that cracked our borders on our brand new horse trail behind our house and blobs of concrete everywhere. Never letting us know when they are coming so they block the driveway and I can’t get my car out for work. Throwing their trash (cups, cans, half eaten boxes of donuts) in the bottom of our (cess)pool for it to just sit for months. Pool step in the wrong spot. Geez, it felt like they just chalked us up to «why bother». It became a joke to our neighbors and friends «Hopefully the pool will be done before the kids go off to college.»
I don’t know if the owner was ever out to the site, we never met him. One of the worst moments was when he practically called my husband a liar over the phone. We were not making it up when we told him that the sales manager said that «he would figure out how to get us the upgrade for the mini pebbles instead of the plaster.» If that doesn’t mean «give it to us» I don’t know what does then. Of course, they let the sales manager go too. So we were screwed because he was the only one who cared anything about our disaster. We paid for the mini-​pebble ourselves which is pretty sad since in the response it was said that things were «overpromised». Yes in fact they were. Your company promised, and did not come through. You also paid for our rock feature to be completed? Well we were not told he abandoned the job. If he was separate from you, how did you know about it and we didn’t?
So in the end, it wasn’t what we wanted because they built our pool up higher than the back porch. We would have either had to #1 settle for an extreme slope from the house to the pool or we could choose option #2, a 4 inch step-​down about 6 feet away from the edge of the pool. We went with the step, it was what we were stuck with, an uncorrectable mistake.
It’s all over and I couldn’t be more glad. I know that they have a lot of 5-​star reviews but I could not leave our story untold. Feel free to message me.

My lap pool was completed last December. Each phrase was finished on schedule: steel, plumbing /​rough electrical, shortcrete, coping, and tiling. The workmanship was excellent. I went in to their Ontario office to select tiles and coping. They had quite a large selection. They assigned a superintendent to follow up the progress through out the building process. At the completion of the pool, they also sent a pool technician to teach us how to maintain the pool on our own. Overall I am quite pleased with their workmanship and would recommend it if you want to build a new pool.

BEWARE Of PREMIER POOLS AND SPAS!
I am adding this first part as an addendum to my original review. My pool start up was done incorrectly and my pool had to be given an acid bath three months after the pool was finished. This was done in April. After the bath I had a third party company look at the plaster. Seems the mix was bad and the job done wrong. As of May 17^th I am now in need of new plaster. The mottling is so bad that the pool looks like it is 10 years old.
I am a teacher, and father of 3, who needed to build this pool for my water therapy for my disability, as well as a therapy pool for my special needs daughter.
I signed my contract in November of 2015 and the pool was filled February 19^th 2016. The time frame is not the issue.
I do have text messages since the beginning detailing my concerns, as well as hundreds of pictures of the work, before and after, and all damage and areas of concern.
A few weeks ago (February 15^th) I sent a personal email to the owner of the company, Dennis Carson. I outlined all the problems I had with the build from the very first sub-​contractor that stepped foot on my property.
Dennis has not responded to my email as of yet. (3÷8÷2016)
The long and short of it is simple, the moment I handed them my last payment for the entire build (for plaster) I was handed a Contract Addendum that stated I had no problems with the build, and wanted to proceed. I wasn’t going to sign, as the contract we signed originally called for plaster a day or two after that payment. Josh, the superintendent to the project, told me that the office told him that if I didn’t sign it that they were not going to proceed with the plaster.
Wow! I was held hostage to having my pool finished due to normal complaints and requests. What is sad is that when I pushed the issue of the concrete damage over 9 times, it wasn’t until I contacted the owner, that Josh told me «read the small print bro».
Well he was right, but he could have told me this one of the 9 times I asked him.
I believe the reason I was forced to sign this contract is simple, Dennis Carson is going to reply to this review and say «customer signed a contract stating there were no problems with the build». What he will leave out is the part where I was being held hostage!

The problems listed below were all taken care of, but not until I wrote the letter to the owner, and pressed the issue. Oh, and after I signed the extortion contract.
In short, my build experience was terrible, and I was extorted into signing the contact addendum to continue the build. The sub-​contractors really don’t take pride in their work, and have to be told what needs to be repaired.
I had to do this with the coping, tile, and the electricians.
This is what I asked from the owner.
1. $ 1300 for the damaged concrete caused by the Bobcat.
2. The fence repaired for shotcrete damage.
3. The patio room painted because of the shotcrete damage.
4. The house painted or touched up behind the pool pump where the plumbers over-​sprayed onto the house.
5. A possible discount to cover the damaged deck and coping from the electricians.
I also asked the following:
If the excavation company will not reimburse me for the damage then I would like Premier Pools and Spas to pay for the 12×24 foot section of my yard remaining to be graded, plumbed for sprinklers, drainage and sod. This totals about $ 1300 in work.
If you don’t have a painter who can match the house paint, then another $ 1500 would cover the fence, paint damage and deck and coping damage. The fence will need to be replaced, and the entire patio room repainted, not just touched up.
The shotcrete over-​spray was taken care of on the fence and the patio room, the over-​spray from the plumbers was done with the wrong paint, and done by an electrician. The coping and deck damage was also repaired. But only after writing a letter to the owner.
In addition to all of these complaints, their concrete sub-​contractor, Dreamscapes & Construction Services Lic #690 664, has yet to finish their work. They damaged my new patio cover, have drains that are un-​even all over the decks, chunks of concrete in the backyard that need to be removed, have concrete splashed all over the new wall that needs to be cleaned, as well as a front street stained in concrete from the deck pour.
They also had to remove a wall they built that was placed in the wrong area. Because of this they did pay for all of my concrete work in the front yard, as well as stamp my decking for free. They also acid washed my driveway due to the damage they caused.
Before you sign a contract read the fine print. Your concrete, bushes, sprinklers, and plants will be destroyed. You will have to pay more to have it all fixed. They do not cover that.
In addition, Josh actually admitted in a text that I have saved that «it is hit and miss when it comes to their sub-​contractors». Really? What a great business model.

Premier pools of Ontario did a beautiful job of building our back yard paradise. Eric understood our needs and designed our pool and spa to fit the space perfectly allowing for the views we wanted. Every trade from digging to finish was professional, courteous and clean. We were informed during every step of the project and Warren our project manager was exemplary in communication. Warren was always available to speak with us when questions arose. Jarrod expertly handled our permitting and Denise in the office was proactive in keeping things moving along. We truly enjoy our back yard paradise and and appreciate the top quality job well done by Premier Pool & Spa Ontario.

We would contract with Premier Pools Ontario again. They came in with the lowest bid, and we’re able to suggest a few adds to our pool that really improved the look still keeping us on budget. The best part of our experience was the time it took Premier Pools Ontario to complete our backyard oasis. They had our pool complete unless then 3 months! Norb Gonzales, our sales person, was very knowledgeable and always willing to take our calls. During the construction phase, as stressful as it is dealing with the city and their permitting limitations as well as our less then helpful association, Jarod Zuhlke was a supper star. He was committed to getting all the necessary permits and scheduling each phase of our pool project without delay.

After a long and exhaustive search of local pool companies to construct my new pool, I discovered Premier Pools & Spas (Ontario). I met with several companies & received several quotes, but always knew which company I hoped would «win the bid.» Not only was Premier Pools & Spas my first estimate, but as it turned out, it could’ve been my last. Not only did they come in with the lowest price, but they had by far the best presentation & highest quality of products. I was very impressed by the staff as a whole, from the salesman to the owner, throughout our build. I was always kept «in the loop» at every stage of the build & the finished product exceeded expectations. If you’re in the market for an «all inclusive» pool company, I highly recommend Premier Pools & Spas!

Premier Pools and Spas of Ontario, California, is by far the Premier pool builder in Southern California. This is the third pool I have built in the past several years, and Premier has exceeded my expectations. From the beginning of the process, Don Hubbell designed a beautiful modern pool with all the latest up to date equipment. He guided me through the process and gave me many price options without trying to gouge me.
The pool was completed in just six weeks from excavation to water, as promised with minimal issues. If I had any problems or concerns, they were addressed immediately by the Superintendent, Josh. What a great team they have at Premier. I will never use anyone other then Premier in my future pool building endeavors. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PREMIER POOLS OF ONTARIO, CA. if you are considering building a pool.

We looked at almost 10 other quotes before meeting with Dennis at a Fair event the very night before we signed the paperwork.
Dennis Carson was a pleasure to work with. He is a very honest and friendly guy, we are happy that we chose Premier Pools and it’s mostly because of him.
Josh was our Project Manager and did a fine job managing the workers and assisting when needed. Lorenzo did my coping (concrete) and his guys were very professional, if you have to chose a concrete contractor, select him!
Denise Reyes in the Ontario office is simply a superstar! Always a quick call or email away, she was super helpful with my many questions and gave great advice about color choices, etc. along the way, she is truly an asset to Premier.
If you work directly with Dennis or Denise, you can’t go wrong.

5 stars for this company, we had a tight budget and high expectations and this company came through. Took a little less than four months from start to finish for a pool spa combo. Their salesman Eric Crawford is a landscape designer who gave us the mid-​century classic design we wanted and kept to the budget we wanted. Their superintendent project manager Mike Brady was honest, reliable and with us every step of the way. We received multiple quotes and no one came within 25% of the price we received from première. There were a few steps along the way we could have upgraded with tile and concrete work but we held to our original plan the the cost of the pool was exactly what we were quoted.
A pool project is a messy kinda scary ordeal for the homeowner but I was happy that Eric and Mike were always at a click of the button away. I’ve already referred them to a friend who is now underway. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I asked for an estimate. Took day off of work. They missed appointment. Scheduled new appointment. Asked rep to give me a quote on most basic pool with itemized list for extra features. He said basic pool was $ 23,000. Months later he sent quote of $ 31,000 with no itemized list. Thanks for listening.

Highly recommend Premier Pools Ontario. They were not the lowest bidder but they had the best knowledge and experience. Remember this is a big investment and ultimately you have to live with the decisions. Alan Browne 5 stars was our sales person he brought to our attention concerns and recommendations that 5 other companies combined did not share. In reality this saved us time and money with the city and overall maintenance costs.
We signed the contract on 8÷30÷15.
Pool was completed on 12÷30÷15.
We had delays with the city pulling permits, mother nature, holiday weekends, and as you can see in pics we have a large Rock Slide built by Innovative Construction 5 stars from Wildomar CA which was a multiple step process.
Pool 32×18 with 7ft spa with adjustable jets. Baja Step with umbrella hole. Integrated gas firepit with black lava. Large rock slide with built in planters, waterfall and sitting bench. All Jandy pool equipment, LED lighting, micro pebble pool surface (Tropical Blue) and Mineral System/​UV light (only Premier offered this to us).
I would recommend Premier Pools, ask for Alan.
Office staff was great. Jarrod, Denise, and Derrio.
Do your homework pools are not cheap. Ask lots of questions with all your bidders and get everything in writing. Itemize and make sure your comparing apples to apples.
They build a great product and overall communication was great. 5 stars.

I unfortunately had a bad experience with Premier pools. Things started well until the project manager was replaced. I had to keep calling to get things going. I was given wrong information many times like the height of the gate. I had to pay extra
to get it corrected. When called to complain, the owner Dennis, was very rude and didn’t even give me a chance to explain the issues. He just wouldn’t take any responsibility for his workers’ mistakes. He ended up hanging up on me. At that point I just decided to let them finish and hope for the best.
I gave one star for Don, the sales manager who was the only one that made me feel that I mattered as a costumer.
Our pool turned up good. I just wish the experience would’ve been pleasant.

Thank you Premier Pools and Spas! We could not be more happy with the whole process of this pool build, and the outcome is amazing! It started with Alan Browne who was very professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and designed our dream pool! Our visit to the showroom to pick out tile, coping and decking was an easy task with owner Dennis and his assistant Denise who made sure we were getting exactly what we wanted without feeling pressured to pick what the trend is at the time. From the time ground was broke to filling up the pool was exactly six weeks, absolutely amazing, with supervision of sub contractors by Josh and a quality group of sub contractors who were polite, listened, and were clean at the end of the day, that means a lot when it is your home and not an average job site. I highly recommend this be your pool builder too!

How do I begin, or who do I begin with?! I can hardly describe how pleased we are with the work done by Premier Pools in Ontario! From the very beginning of our pool quote to the finishing touches on our pool the service, quality, and professionalism were all TOP NOTCH! Sales person– Alan was awesome. From his suggestions and price quote being spot on and through all the phases of pool construction he was available to answer any of our questions and concerns. This is not the norm with sales people… Usually They make the sale and you never hear from them again. Alan was an exceptional sales person and we recommend him!
Dennis, the owner, was just a joy to speak to and answered any of our concerns. He was attentive and professional.
Josh, the project manager, was hands down the most knowledgeable and professional person We had the pleasure working with. We learned a lot and when things weren’t near perfect he made sure to make them right! He was responsive and made sure his crew was always in target with construction. We were given an approx 8 week completion time … Premier finished in 7 weeks! We got to enjoy our pool for Fourth of July, which meant so much to us! This review is from my experience with Premier Pools and Spas in June — July 2014.
This is it, this is the company you want to build your pool and I’ll tell you why: I reviewed many pool builders and based on those reviews, I narrowed it down to 5 companies. 2 of the companies I did not bother calling back after speaking with a representative. I had a bid from 3 companies, one of which was Premier Pools. Alan, the sales representative from Premier, came over and drew a sketch based on ideas from my wife and I. He then provided us a quote which was pretty much the same as the other 2 companies however; keep in mind the other 2 companies did not provide any upgrades at that price. When I told the other companies about the upgrades I wanted, their price went up $ 4,500 for one and $ 5,000 for the other company. After Alan provided me with a quote, I asked about upgrades. His reply to most of my requests was basically, «That’s already included.» Now on to the employees. Everyone was very polite and receptive to the many changes I made. Dennis Carson, the owner, was as nice as they come. My coping had to be custom made and the company that makes them was 3 weeks behind. Dennis went out of his way to upgrade me at no extra charge just to get the build back on schedule. As for the build, it was done much quicker than I thought. In fact, the city inspector told me it was the quickest pool build he’s ever seen. How would I rank the contractors you ask? Excavators — 9: Plummer /​Electrician (Louie was outstanding) — 10: Rebar (Dustin and his dad were outstanding) — 10: Shot Crete — 8: Tile — 8: Deck /​concrete — 10 (Sales Representative Lorenzo gets a 3 though): Plaster (Tony) — 5: Plaster is rough in some spots and I AM still working on it to get it smooth. I enjoyed getting to know one of the superintendents Kevin. He called me several times after the pool was completed just to check on things which I appreciate.
The pool was finished and filled on July 16. Other than the plaster, I have had no issues and my pool is amazing. If for some reason I ever had to have another pool built, I would not hire anybody other than Premier Pools, even with the plaster issues. Well, props to me, my research paid off and I want to pat myself on the back for choosing the best company. good job me. My wife and I bought our home in November 2014, and we new we wanted to add a pool. We called several company and got lots of quotes. After 2 months we finally made out choice and we went with Premier Pools. With the help of Norbert, he was able to show us how our backyard could look like. After approving all design and picking out stone and tile, Premier was able to begin. Kevin was our super on this job and he was on top of things from the start. Not only did our pool get built in 5 weeks, but there was not one problem that i have to take care of, from calling for inspection and the contractors that they used.
Premier Pool did a great job and i am so happy that i picked them as my pool company. now my family is enjoying the pool everyday and we are looking forward to having our first pool party.

Every step of the way from the salesman Brian to the staff that dug our pool to the people in the office we are very satisfied and recommend them to all our friends. We really did our homework on what we wanted We could not be happier with the service we received and the transformation of our backyard into a stay-​at-​home resort.
