We were a party of five, seated at a four top– despite the restaurant being only half full. Service was slow. Coffee refills had to be hunted down. Our food took over half an hour to arrive from the time we ordered. When our food arrived, we were missing items, and the food that did come had clearly been sitting for quite some time. Pancakes were hard, gravy was congealed, grits were congealed. Eggs were not cooked to order. Our waitress was absent through most of our time there. When the check came, we were charged incorrectly for an item. I presented the waitress with the issue politely and she said, «it’s like 30 cents, but I can fix it». When she returned, she practically threw the bill at me. Overall, the experience was incredibly disappointing at the least. We will never return to this establishment and will certainly inform others of our experience. What a waste of time and money!

I was in line and they were like«the line starts over there» so I was like«ok» and then I had to walk over to where the line actually started and wait a minute or two which really grinded my gears so Cracker Barrel only gets 1 star. everything else was great though

Dismal service! Thirty minutes wait for a table. Almost an hour for breakfast and still counting. Next time I am in the Auburn-Opelika area I will find another place for breakfast.

This is not a review of the restaurant but of the shop. I rented a ‘book on CD’ which requires you to ‘purchase’ the book on CD. When you return the CD’s they refund you the purchase price and charge you the rental fee of about $ 3.49. Silly me did not double check that there were actually nine CDs as indicated on the box. When I returned the CDs and there was not a ninth CD I was charged for the entire CD box. The cashier said that the cashier that ‘rented’ me the CDs should have double checked that they were all there. Be warned, check that all CDs are in the box or you will end up paying for the entire thing.

Worst cracker barrel I have been to. Service is very poor and I had an upset stomach for 2 days after eating there. I only live 5 minutes away but from now on I will drive to Lagrange if I want to go to a cracker barrel.

Once you exit I-85, you have to make a couple of turns to converge on the Cracker Barrel parking lot. There isn’t a lot to say about a chain restaurant, except what(if anything) differentiates them from the other outlets. We arrived around 11:15 a.m. on a Sunday, and the place was full. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table, though. Service was pretty prompt, despite the crowd. We were done in under an hour. The food was the same as at other Cracker Barrels — no one left hungry! When we left, the wait had lengthened to an hour. If you don’t stop in at a peak time and just want a known-quantity meal with reasonable convenience and pricing, it’s hard to go wrong here.

We like to go here every once in a while. The prices are not bad. We enjoy looking at all the old antiques they have. An the gift shop is nice as well Only bad thing is the servers aren’t always as friendly and trying to get a simply refill is a 7 min wait sometimes. Also last time we ate there a server started sweeping around us as we were eating. That is rude and unprofessional.

It’s a Cracker Barrel — just like all the others I’ve stopped in on the road. This one did have great service, was quick and wasn’t crowded as some Cracker Barrels can be. Good stop if you’re on the road.

Great meal at this very consistent establishment. The food met up to every expectation. I had the Uncle Hershel Breakfast with the fried catfish filet with cheese grits. Our waitress Karen was fantastic and provided 5 Star service. She was quick to refill drinks and attentive to our every need.

It’s Cracker Barrel … Ie: a chain Quality is passable though nothing special. I’ve been here a few times because — sad as it may be — it’s about the best breakfast place around here. That doesn’t mean this place is «good» … just that there’s not much competition. There is Waffle House right next to it and aside from the carefully chosen fake Americana crap on the walls it’s much the same quality.

Food is good but having to wait five minutes for service is unacceptable. This is the second time this has happened to me. It may be awhile before I come back.

One of my favorite spots in Auburn/Opelika. Definitely a fave for breakfast. The service, staff, and food are always exceptional regardless of the time or the day in my experience.

I’ve been here many times and haven’t had a memorably bad experience. This time, though, was an entirely different story. The waitress(who we’ve had before and was slow) was on her worst game ever. We’re talking some of the worst service I’ve ever had in a restaurant ever. We waited 20 minutes for coffee and tea. Add to that another 20 for the food(which was cold). We didn’t even bother saying anything to the manager because he had already received complaints about the same server while we were there. At check out the lady asked us if we had a good experience and we couldn’t lie so she insisted that we speak to the manager. He arrived slowly and really didn’t seem to care one way or another, provided an excuse about being late or something and they’ll try to do better. There really wasn’t anything in the way of legitimate reasons for bad service or offers to fix the problem. He walked away promptly and we were stuck paying $ 16 bucks for cold food, bad coffee, and horrible service. You’re always remembered by your last performance. I can’t recommend this place anymore.

Waitresses seem slow. Food is usually good. If your in any type of hurry do not go here 30 mins or better. The sound level is loud

This is a nice cracker barrel and I’m happy that we stopped here. It was cold on the day that we came into this particular Cracker Barrel and they had some logs burning in the fireplace. We were lucky enough to get a set close by, so it gave some nice atmosphere to our meal. I’ve been told that they do this at all the Cracker Barrel’s when it gets cold but this is the first time that I’ve seen it. This Cracker Barrel is not what I would call«off the beaten path», but the highway next to it is not a major interstate(like I-75 for example), so it had more of a down-home feel to it than some of the other Cracker Barrels we’ve been to in more urbanized areas.

Being the only living individual in the south who has never heard of this chain, I really love everything that it represents and how much I wish a chain like this in California exists. The service and the store entrance really make this place. For those unfamiliar to this Southern chain, here’s a touristy explanation of what you’ll find. Initially, you’re greeted by a porch with several rocking chairs and tables with an enormously-sized checkerboard to play checkers on. I assume this is where you keep the grandparents and the children occupied. Upon entering the restaurant, a world of Alabama and Auburn paraphernalia and Southern treats greets you in every direction. This is also accompanied by an aroma of nostalgia that you want to recall a time that you remember being baby-sitted at your grandmother’s house. Except I’m Asian so my grandparents yelled at me for running away to the local Asian grocery store to buy Sailor Moon cards. Anyway, the rest of the store greets you with southern items that seem to hit you with a sense of nostalgia you never knew you had. I bought a bunch of novelty candy items but some of the things I wish I had bought were decorative pastry items specifically for the Auburn or Alabama fan. At some point, you didn’t realize your 40-minute wait was up, and you’re escorted to your table. For picky eaters, everything and anything on this menu can be substituted and customized – they just don’t outright tell you that. Honestly, the food wasn’t that great especially as I was let down by their apple muffin. However, everything else made up for it and I wanted to come back here not because of the food, but because I wanted to reconnect to a time that I realize I was never a part of.

Great food, and as usual, crappy service. Our waitress should not be working. It took 30 mins for her to forget and be reminded of our drink orders. My peach iced tea was siting empty for 30 mins, during my awesome meal. The fish fry was awesome, chicken dumplings were fantastic, and Mac and cheese like none other. People got seated after us, ate, paid, and left before we did. Horrible service!!!
